Great story, and lovely to see a car like this being driven hard as it likes to be. Which is also why the “old gentleman” sold it, because it deserves to be out on the road and not in a museum.
Wonderful story!! I am building a 1928 Morgan RIP MG Special as the first series of videos for my newly born TH-cam channel. I have already sourced the engine and drivetrain for a 1935 MG Magnette F Tipo. And that will be next project and my daily driver for life...
Was für ä Gschicht, MG und dr Klause. Mega, härzligge Dank für dä Post. Nie wird ich das chönne ärläbe, aber mi Tipp: gang emol uf d‘route des grandes Alpes, dört rägnet‘s nid soviel 😊
I have owned 30 British cars. I very much like MGs and have owned 7 including a 1946 MG TC race car and a 1950 MG TD prepped for Bonneville. I currently have a 1963 MGB. I am now inspired to find a Pre-War car. Beautiful car, fascinating story. Thanks for the wonderful video.. from Southern Oregon, USA.
Wouw, great story! Busy on my PB, needed more energy to continue... you did it! Wonderful car, camera work and very entertaining, many thanks for this upload. PS, on prewar MG cars, somewhere it is mentioned that a 30s 1L racer (enlarged 4cyl) MG was able to perform 200BHP with a blower... which was staggering record at that time, even compared to the unbeatable also blown Silver Arrows which were more powerful but with a much larger engine capacity. In the same document, same time, it was mentioned that Cecil Kimber & Ferdinand Porsche had conversations together, where the latter assisted Cecil in improving his blower performance together with KLG & an oil supplier....
Something has gone terribly wrong with the motor industry. Do we need 1000hp and well over 200mph to have fun in a road car? You can not compare the comfort or top speed or continent crossing ability of the latest Ferrari S80 to this 1935 MG however anyone who has had the experience in driving an old car like this will be aware this is far more fun.And as far as all the supercar manufactures claiming they have just released the best drivers car?? To get the 0 to 60 times everyone appears to be so obsessed by nowadays they are all automatic transmission. Fun starts with 3 pedals on the floor.Great video that captures the experience you were having perfectly.
Mg never used a body like this, naither the frankstein mg .... the rear like this was never seen and neither a front in this shape. sorry but this is a real bad copy Made from a real fantasiosi mechanic. Nic President MGCCMC
It's a special! There is no intent to replicate any particular MG model. The builder simply rearranged vintage parts to his own liking to create a car for his own purposes. Guys like George Easton did this all the time. How many "perfect" restorations are made up of bits made yesterday?

Was für eine schöne Geschichte! Wundervolle Aufnahmen, richtig toll! Danke!

Very interesting. I have to finish a project that my dad started but never finished - a J4 replica, the K3's little brother. This is very inspiring.
