- Check out CSX's newest heritage locomotive honoring the Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) railroad! Established in 1967, the SCL operated from Virginia to Florida and served as a vital link in the southeast United States. It eventually became part of the Family Lines System before being incorporated into today’s CSX. Our fleet of heritage locomotives, including the SCL, celebrates the #ONECSX team’s pride in the history of CSX as we continue to deliver for communities across our network.
As I am into the Seaboard Coastline this looks better then the other units
And hopefully Danny Harmon would see this Beautiful Unit.
Thank you for the information, you guys are the best, @CSXOfficial, I like that Heritage Unit, it's awesome.
Spectacular phenomenal work on this CSX Heritage unit. It’s so beautiful. I look forward to seeing it with my own two eyes eventually.
The year i was born. My dad took the Seaboard Air line from Washington DC to Atlanta Georgia when he enlisted in the Army. And when I was a kid. I saw my first family lines system. In Waco Texas on the way to Denison it was still Seaboard Coastline at the time and Louisville and Nashville with the gunmetal grey colors and the red and yellow
Danny Harmon would love this unit
True statement
As well as the unit 1900 released this past week. Seaboard Air...
Seaboard is the S in CSX Transport in 1986 they merged with Chessie Systems to form CSX. Everyone in Waycross knows Seaboard their major shops were located here and still are.
So sorry to hear about what happened to it. I know you guys took a lot of pride in that locomotive. Please don't consider cancelling the rest of them because of the stupidity of one person, or even several. There are some of us that appreciate what you're doing.
Did they respond to the incident of the grafittied SCL heritage unit?
She is a beauty. Looking forward to the next one
How many more heritage units do they have to do
Don’t know PRR, NC&STL, the West Point Route, C&EI, and a few others.
I don't think the Pennsy Will be included. CSX doesn't own any ex. PRR trackage as far as I'm aware.
I think the next one's I'm thinking are the seaboard airline nc&stl the a&wp (maybe) and the clinchfiled (Really been hoping for a clinchfiled unit). those are my guess but we'll wait and see when they get to the next ones.
This is the best loco this far
Great video CSX😊
Great Job!
Another beautiful job fellas
Awesome!
My new favorite I think!
Looks great besides the cab, regardless I give this a solid 8/10
Nice
W seaboard coast line
I hope BNSF or UP will have the privilege to operate that locomotive to the California Coast.
Someone just Vandalized This Unit
I still don't like the fade on the engine
It's sad that your heritage units (the GP40 heritage units) got vandalized :(
Really nice heritage unit. Now its time for the P&LE to come out.
CSX is the best railroad on the east coast as of July 1st, 1999, i dare you to change my mind
As much as I'm not usually a big fan of how CSX has done these heritage units in the past, as I feel it should be done across the whole locomotive with the front of the nose being the only part that says CSX, this one actually turned out really sharp and I can't wait to see it in action
A LOT of these paint schemes had their best look on the front of the nose…..the same engine nose that’s covered with CSX junk on these. The NYC lightning stripe scheme comes to mind.
Great work on another heritage unit, personally would appreciate if they were painted the whole locomotive in heritage scheme, but still stunning paint job, and another one to chase if it comes near the original old B&O mainline
Of all the ones they've done I think this is the best one so far.
I agree. I also love the Chessie System scheme too
Nice work!
Scale Trains better get to work! 😂
Yall did a good job
CSX, I love this unit. But why are they keep having the same fade on the nose of the locomotive?
CSX wanted to be unique with their heritage units. It’s to symbolize the heritage railroads making CSX what it is today.
@@MrMarshmallow26 CSX shud’ve paint the entire Heritage scheme instead of ruining it with the ugly fade what it is today.
Sad to see that CSXT 1967 SCL has been vandalized 😭
CSX you guys do amazing on your heritage units, and by far, this is one of my favorites! Keep up the amazing work!
Let’s see how this looks on Shawn in Greater Folkston Rail Adventures
I live here in Waycross and grew up during the Seaboard Coast Line in the 1970’s as kid and rice yard hump yard open in April of 1978 during SCL time and my it favorite railroad because my grandfather worked for SCL , and working on Ho scale track based on SCL division that will fit in 19 half feet long and 11 half feet wide building.
I agree with you. My father worked for ACL , SCL and retired in 1984 when they were SEABOARD system railroad. And I live by a railroad tracks that Parallel US highway 1 and 23 on the north side of Waycross Georgia.
For years and months I been thinking of designing seaboard Coast Line Ho scale track plan to based one of the SCL division in south ga or north Florida , there’s so many options I can with as track plan = waycross to Manchester ga = waycross to savanna = waycross = Jacksonville fl but I can’t model it all the division .
I’ll never forget this unit, as this is the first CSX heritage unit I saw.
Gentlemen, you have outdone yourselves. This unit is pure perfection. 👌
Awesome Job!!

Thank you, Joe Hinrichs!
Ngl that paint scheme looks super nice with the normal yn3 cab. Also, if yall make a new csx oaint scheme, it should have chessie the cat on the C. Just like how chessie system did it
Massive W heritage, best heritage!
Hope to see it on the mainline soon or later
the great ol' Seaboard
Awesome video
I remember the first time in the mid 70's seeing SCL sd45's and Rice orange SCL cabooses on the Clinchfield . Waycross did an amazing job on this one.
I liked seeing the gray CSX paint scheme
Imagine they start doing sneak peeks after every heritage unit video.
Absolutely beautiful!!!!
Dang that's a great one nice!!!
