No favoritism at all. She really tried. This is a call to the Yorubas, our culture mustn't go into extinction. The presenter only look at the performance of the guest. The princess is fun to be with but needs to improve her Heritage. Kudos to the Convener and the guest.
Despite all the allegations against this lady, I feel she did her best. She is a princess and she didn’t grow in the village where clothes are tied on the chest. Many of us have kids that do not even speak Yoruba, so we all are guilty. Most of us including me learnt Yoruba numbers on this programme. She is learned and may not even have schooled in Nigeria. Her Yoruba is quite okay by me. A princess cannot carry herself like an ordinary person. I have a junior sister who isn’t even a princess and her Yoruba isn’t even as good as this. I enjoyed this episode. All episodes cannot be the same.
The program is created to revive our dying culture. Language is part of culture. Many Yoruba folks are ashamed of speaking Yoruba language. Many of our children cannot speak the language. Then what is our pride? We promote other people's language and culture but relegate ours to the back seat. Many of us are failing today because of our non chalant attitude.
😢.. This is the first time I didn't finish watching this program.... It's becoming more diluted from what we use to see, that get us excited when the program newly started.. My suggestion sir, you can divide the program into two segments 1. Call it celebrity segment where you can blend the rules a bit and probably they would be playing for charity organisation..... 2. Then the normal segment, where you will uphold the initials blueprint of the program where all the rules apply... That's my 2 kobo advise sir..
They don't approve good participants anymore, they only bring celebrities that will boost their views. People like us have tried to apply severally all to no avail.
They don't approve good participants anymore, they only bring celebrities that will boost their views. People like us have tried to apply severally all to no avail.
She's not a Celebrity, she's a Princess of one of the Most High Kabiyesi in Yorubaland & in Nigeria, The Iku Baba Yeye Alaafin Adeyemi , so it's a must for any responsible & disciplined Yoruba Son/ daughter to give her that Respect either her father is alive or not, ORI Ade Ni Anbowo fun
Anyone who watched it to the end would discover it later became interesting (contrary to many ppl's comments). She tried with some questions she got, didn't even believe she was going to get them. Only comma there would be that she wasn't receptive enough of being taught the Yoruba numbers, asides that, she's pleasant to watch. Make una dey take am easy on guests cuz it's easy to act all knowing until it's u sitting there.
People are just hating on this episode just because this girl is Royal, the show is interesting because some people do very well and some people do terrible
Ti a ba ri Oba a ri Dansaki... I almost did not watch the show due to all the nonsensical comments about her attitude. She's the exemplar of beautiful, elegant and confidence but our people prefer pretence for humility. Olotu got too familiar almost disrespectful to her but she maintain class through out. You did well, Weldon ma'am.
The lady's performance is not as bad as most of the comments here suggest. After reading all the comments, I can't help but feel that some people likely didn’t watch the full episode, as a few even mentioned in their comments. I've been an avid follower of the show and always look forward to the release of new episodes because I learn so much from it. Like many others, I usually read the comments while watching each episode. Honestly, on the day this episode was uploaded, the comments posted also first made me lose interest after watching only a few minutes. In addition to the negative comments, what I didn't also find okay was her reluctance to learn and attempt to say the Yoruba numbers, despite Mr. Lekan trying to teach her several times. I sensed that Mr. Lekan was also annoyed, which is likely why he stopped using the polite form of address ('ẹ') with her after she showed no interest in learning the Yoruba counting. To me, this was her only fault. It wasn't until today, after reading a very few more positive comments, that I decided to watch the episode in full. I must say, I actually enjoyed it, just like I've enjoyed previous episodes. Contrary to what many have said, she performed quite well. No one seems to be mentioning how effortlessly and fluently she read the Yoruba sentences. We've seen many people struggle with that on the show. We should also remember that she mentioned having lived in both Oyo and Lagos (likely more in Lagos), and being a business lady in Lagos who mingles with elites, it's unreasonable to expect her to speak Yoruba as if she had spent her entire life in the 'Alaafin' palace. She is even humble, contrary to the claims that she's proud. I think people misinterpreted her refusal to learn the Yoruba numbers as a sign of pride on the show, but I see it as fear of making mistakes. I noticed that she paid close attention to the presenter when he was explaining other things. To me, a bad episode would be one where the guest speaks Yoruba so poorly that they lose all the money before the 10th question. Many of the guests who didn’t speak English on the show likely practiced a lot or were extra cautious on the show. Her performance, on the other hand, seemed natural, and she only made a few common mistakes like 'No', 'Now'. People should watch the show to learn from the questions, not just to see whether someone wins a large sum of money.
I love your comment and I took my time to read it all... Most of the people condemning her can't even face the show not to talk of abiding the rules and answering the questions
Kaaabiyesi Omo Oba Oyo Alaafin , Ojo Pa Shekere Omo Atiba , Take it Easy with this man because you mustn't make any mistake & i trust you that Baba made all of you to be Proud of your language , You're Most Welcome to the Program Baba would have been loved had it been that He's alive , May His Soul continue to Rest in Peace
My honest opinion! You're doing a great show and we appreciate you for teaching us the language in fact I can comfortably say the numbers from 1-1000. God bless you.
The english worsen the matter 😂😂😂 I can't stop laughing 😂😂😂 Kudos to you sir 🎉 more blessings from above 🙏 I'm always learning from time to time from this wonderful program 😊 Greetings from Ogun-State ÌYANU CHANTER 🎉
This is so disrespectful to watch. She came into the show unprepared, and you were trying to teach her the number, but she didn't seem to have any real interest in knowing the number. Has she watched the show before? Please, Lekan, people abroad enjoy watching your show because it's amazing. Please be more selective with the participants you bring onto the show. As Alaafin's daughter, certain expectations and a level of respect come with being from a royal lineage. I don't expect her to know about the number, but at the very least, participants should show enthusiasm. I remember there was a lady on the show who had been living in the States for 8 years and was from Oyo. She did an excellent job. I've been living in the States for over two decades and I know I could do better than her.
The most disrespectful guess is the lady that use to sing and her name is diamond, I dislike that episode because she just behaved like a goat that day.
Mr Lekan is bringing celebs and people that matters in the society now, neglecting those of us that are ajepakos. There is no single episode that i watch that I don't get at least 8 out of the 10k questions. I've texted him five months ago,dem never call me till now.

She tried o, I don't know why there is so much backlash. People with good command of Yoruba will be good fit, but the one or 2 owe I learnt their meaning is enough reason for me to watch. @EA it's not about how far but how well, if the person can't cope if they last 7 minute on the show. That is fine. All those planning to come and not converse, tell them Yoruba conversation is part of the show. E ku ise 👏👏👏
its always easy as you narrated it sweetly here until you get to the hot seat. It is not a scripted programme so you have to give credit to the guest for being realistic and attempting to answer the questions.
I think I prefer every day people opposed to these “well to do” ones that don’t have a real interest in performing well on the show. I also think more grace should be given to those who are trying their best.
Honestly, recent participants are making this my favourite programme boring. Unlike before, I don't watch the programme from the start to end. Olootu, we need you to please scrutinize forthcoming participants properly. My take
They don't approve good participants anymore, they only bring celebrities that will boost their views. People like us have tried to apply severally all to no avail.

I read a lot of comments here and I am highly disappointed in anyone who dished out negativity towards the show. The Anchor is trying and he is not doing favoritism at all. Speaking Yoruba have made someone to become a local and ordinary person?
This mindset is very great and voluptuous.
