One of my earliest memories is going to the old zoo, probably 1964. So glad I have a memory of it. Also used to hang out there when it was abandoned in the 80's. Being old is hard but I did get to see L.A. in it's glory. I miss it so much but would never move back. Well, maybe if someone gave me a free historical home. :)
My dog and I were just on that hike last weekend and the water way you were inquiring about has water flowing through it from all of the rain we have been getting. It's a way to funnel the water down and break it up so it doesn't flow too quickly.
There's something about your videos when they're focused on an area I've been that makes me miss the west coast even more now that I've moved back in the midwest. Can't wait to come back there some day and hike those trails like I did this summer before leaving the west coast!
Nice little G.Park trail. I know that trail very well, and it should only take about 30 minutes(one way) from that start point "if" you don't get lost. Good luck with All Trails app, because most of that area has "no cell service". Just mark the forks with rocks/leaves/twigs, so you can follow them back.
Your videos really take me back to my youth! I was raised in Burbank and hiked throughout the areas mountains back in the 70's. Back then we would hike up to Bee rock on our way to the observatory. On Bee rock we could see the those cages and rock buildings below and wondered what is that? We would hike down and sneak in under that back gate and explore all those cages and back areas. Several years ago I returned to the area with my son only to find out it's all a park now and you can't explore inside the exhibits anymore, bummer. Also do you know about the small cave off of the horse trail over the Mt. Hollywood Tunnel. Also have you done Millard Canyon and it's waterfall, water slide and mines it is an awesome hike! Keep up with your wonderful tours!
I love your channel!! I will be moving to LA hopefully soon, but I have a question. I love everything abt griffith park, with everything to see and do just in the park, how long do you think it would take me to hike every trail and see all there is to see and do just in griffith park? thank you
Those water runoffs are for rain runoffs. If (when ever that will be) Los Angeles happens to get a whole lot of rain.(Maybe this century???) I saw that pretty full 15 years ago.
I’m coming to Los Angeles end of December early January any sight to see around that time ? And will I need jacket at night time ? Shirts during the day , thanks
Man, they should clean up that graffiti and fix up those nasty looking fences. It's such a cool area otherwise. You should check out the haunted picnic table too while you're up there!

This was the very first thing we did in LA. It’s a great view minus the chain link lol

Excellent video 😊
Thank you very much!
👩🏻 - Adding this to our list when we don’t have the kids with us. Looks like a great work out with a nice view!
Cool video, I didn't know about Bee Rock! I was out hiking in Griffith Park this past April and it was a great time, I need to come back again!
The city that you see from the rock is Glendale?
Have you tried Fern Dell Trail to the Observatory? There is also a cafe near the trail called Trails Cafe.
Love it 😍
Thank you! 😊

You should hike some of the horse trails at GP.
Where are they located do you mine sharing
Would love to do a horse ride there sometime in the future!
Nice spot. Except for the rusty fence.. not bad though. Safe for dogs?
👍👍👍

Water runoff control catch basins.

I agree, the fence could use some work haha. I will look up the haunted picnic bench!
Well, there is even more graffiti today than there was two years ago.
