My favorite piece from the entire game OST, and where I logged out for the last time so it would be the last song I heard. Gods I miss this game. so tempted to go back and begin again.
oh man. Always loved this area just fir the music. I could just stand there and go afk especially when it would start raining and it would be extremely relaxing siting by the outpost.
I remember venturing to Zi’tah and doing my middle school homework in the rain here. There will NEVER be another game quite like FFXI and I think I’m okay with that…
Btw in my opinion FFXI has the best soundtrack of all the final fantasies. Not saying nobuo uematsu is bad or anything (whod say that cause its just not true obviously lol) i just feel naoshi mizuta produced some absolute gems which hae a massive part to play in why this is also my fave mmo andi have many fond memories of the game i no longer play sadly
Every song brings back a memory. I think that’s both because it’s genuinely good, but also ffxi was an incredible experience. I’ll never have that again. I’m glad I did though.
@nezkeys79 Uematsu had several compositions for the original game (not the later expansions,) Including the opening theme, Ronfaure, Airship, and Recollection to name a few.

I spent more time in Zitah than any other zone. Simply… for the wonderful theme. 13 years later… the sounds still make me smile.
same here i play FFXI in 2004 :) 18years later and still it's like when we were crossing Zi'tha in chocobo to get to Fafnir!!! a beautiful area .

Even though I quit it a long time ago, Horizon is a decent private server for 75ish era. Retail certainly isn't what it used to be.

Nobuo Uematsu is fantastic, but I do feel like other artists get overlooked. My favourite Final Fantasy music comes from games composed by others.

I think the songs in the original areas were by Nobuo U. The sky area songs are incredible though. My favorite is Graviton, that’s a masterpiece.
@ray.b.75 are you sure? I'm 99% certain it was entirely Naoshi Mizuta, then a collab with adoulin or someone else
