I did this today, in Cardiff. I'm a theatre graduate, so I'm no stranger to intense immersive theatre experiences. At no point was my brain convinced it was 'somewhere else'. I didn't feel like I was 'flying' or 'sinking' or 'travelling through time'. I just saw this as a very extreme delve into how the brain learns and how our brains are constantly absorbing and translating light.
You know that trick where you stare at a group of black shapes for 30 seconds and then, when you turn and look at the wall, you see the face of Jesus? Well, I think this is more or less the same process in the brain, just on a larger and more extreme scale.
    It was intriguing.
I had no ill effects, but this certainly isn't one for the epileptics! 😵‍💫

The lack of information is staggering. What is it what is it doing and what's the scientific basis?

One time I was trippin on too much acid and I was staring at a fire pit and the fire pit turned into a mini world with little people and buildings, would love to trip on DMT or magic mushrooms next, just don't where to get them, so hard to come by

This concept was brought about by William S Burroughs, a well dodgy figure, I would avoid at all costs.

It sounds a lot like people who know nothing about science or biology trying to impress people who know even less. I'm not saying that's true. I'm saying they're horribly unaware of how they sound.

They sound perfectly fine, I have no idea what this comment is trying to deduce about the video. The video is simply trying to display a new experimental technology.

@@johngerity So what does that even mean? Are you saying I don’t get these “dark illusory themes” you seem to suggest exist, or are you saying I’m oblivious? But then, oblivious to what? It’s plain and simple, blunt as day. I see no messaging here. It’s called scientific journalism. They won’t just line out the whole experiment in a big documentary for two hours. It’s a 5 minute video.
