We really need a class in high school that’s equal parts of how to do your taxes, personal finances and how to not get in an mlm. It pisses me off how they prey on the vulnerable.
I actually had to have 2 different personal finance class in high school. One helped with writing checks, balancing check books, and doing taxes/tax fraud consequences (personal taxes, not any business, and we had to fill out “tax” forms with a “person” we were given, multiple times and it was given as a test as well, we had to do it by hand WITHOUT a calculator). The second one was learning to budget, how to do interviews for jobs, live by yourself (as in, giving what you actually need to live alone, phone, internet, rent, food, transportation, etc), how to judge a scam from a real opportunity, and a VERY brief course on the stock market.
My highschool has a class like this. I graduated at 18 knowing about schemes, how to file taxes, different business structures and other financial literate concepts. I really hope other schools do this 😭😭😭

I've encountered a few TikTok accounts riddled with MLM recruitment videos and they never mention the MLM by name, just a "business opportunity" and to DM for more information. I've reported these to TikTok but TikTok didn't take a single one down. Even outside of TikTok, it's probably a way to thwart someone looking to do research until they have been more solidly hooked.

Same, anything above 30 for me is obscene. My hairs important but not that important. Canadian here: we do have some free healthcare for things like hospitals, dr visits, but things like prescriptions, vision, dental you need either private or a company plan. Her parents likely have a company plan if they aren't self-employed, or if she's in college/university most require students to be covered under their plans if they aren't under their parents. My employer pays for my health plan for my family, with a nominal fee for "extras" like AD&D and life insurance.
@@IAMCCSuarez Another addition to this is that the differing companies to get extended benefits through have spending caps, especially on vision, dental, and extras like physiotherapy. You get partial coverage in most up to a certain dollar amount and then you have nothing until the calendar year resets. Some provinces people have to pay a monthly rate for the basic coverage, and others don't. AB changed to the free well over 10 years ago, whereas BC only changed in the last few years. Up until that point my husband and I had to pay $75 a month each for the basic coverage, and our Blue Cross coverage (worst plan available was the only option due to current health issues) is over $120 a month combined. Thankfully with all that we don't pay for doctors visits, medical testing, ER visits, and most surgeries (non-elective), and hospital stays.

In fact you pay nothing at all due to OHIP (I’m based out of Ontario). In the US you do. That’s what us Canadians mean by free universal healthcare. Our taxes help pay for our healthcare

At the same time, my husband's niece had a baby in nicu and it didn't cost them anything, whereas an American cousin of mine had a baby in nicu and they had to remortgage their house to pay their 20% co-pay.

What pisses me off the most about what they say about quitting their jobs or dropping out of school is that it devalues all the hard work and time we have put into getting those degrees or moving up. I’m finally early enough to announce that I’m new! I love this channel, it almost makes me wish I had more huns in my life to judge. There was a girl I went to school with who joined Juice+ last year during lockdown (I’m in the UK). I became obsessed with trying to figure which MLM she was part of without asking because she never put the proper company name, just insane hunbot statuses. I’m a bit disappointed that she just stopped posting to be honest 😂
Something so annoying about this is that sometimes people don’t want to buy the thing you’re selling. I have had a number of side hustles that customers weren’t interested in. Then I started doing what I do now and it’s highly sought after. It’s not just mindset or effort like these MLMers claim, a big part is if people actually want to buy what you’re selling.

The Wealthy dads club didn’t get the return on their investment that they were looking for.

Same, anything above 30 for me is obscene. My hairs important but not that important. I'd prefer to spend that money on necessities and the only times and spend a lot is skincare for my face which IS worth the money. Even then it's never over 100 spending that much money in one go makes me feel like I need to abstain afterwards.

Canadian here: we do have some free healthcare for things like hospitals, dr visits, but things like prescriptions, vision, dental you need either private or a company plan. Her parents likely have a company plan if they aren't self-employed, or if she's in college/university most require students to be covered under their plans if they aren't under their parents. My employer pays for my health plan for my family, with a nominal fee for "extras" like AD&D and life insurance.

@@IAMCCSuarez Another addition to this is that the differing companies to get extended benefits through have spending caps, especially on vision, dental, and extras like physiotherapy. You get partial coverage in most up to a certain dollar amount and then you have nothing until the calendar year resets. Some provinces people have to pay a monthly rate for the basic coverage, and others don't. AB changed to the free well over 10 years ago, whereas BC only changed in the last few years. Up until that point my husband and I had to pay $75 a month each for the basic coverage, and our Blue Cross coverage (worst plan available was the only option due to current health issues) is over $120 a month combined. Thankfully with all that we don't pay for doctors visits, medical testing, ER visits, and most surgeries (non-elective), and hospital stays.
@@trish7525 think of it this way… in Canada you don’t pay an arm and an leg for surgery/childbirth and when you stay in the hospital. In fact you pay nothing at all due to OHIP (I’m based out of Ontario). In the US you do. That’s what us Canadians mean by free universal healthcare. Our taxes help pay for our healthcare

@@KatherineAnne Just to add (even late) you can get a private room for less than a box of kleenex at most US hospitals. 20 years ago, we paid $35 a night for a private room when I had our son so that my husband could stay longer and come in earlier to visit as he had to work "regular work hours" (he is self-employed and couldn't take leave as leave meant no income other than my mat leave). At the same time, my husband's niece had a baby in nicu and it didn't cost them anything, whereas an American cousin of mine had a baby in nicu and they had to remortgage their house to pay their 20% co-pay.

Something so annoying about this is that sometimes people don’t want to buy the thing you’re selling. I have had a number of side hustles that customers weren’t interested in. Then I started doing what I do now and it’s highly sought after. It’s not just mindset or effort like these MLMers claim, a big part is if people actually want to buy what you’re selling.
