I was almost a comic book artist, but it wasn’t meant to be. Never thought about approaching it from an author side of things. Great interview!

Thank you for the video Dale it was a very interesting interview. That is so amazing that D.B. Goodin was able to convert his fiction as a comic-book. I have been wondering, as one of my fiction projects I am writing my French-Spy novel series and my main character is a wanted serial killer who has been on a killing spree from the age of 12 years old using his paranormal powers he recently developed. He gets revenge on his old school using his powers. Can you imagine that in a comic-book...that will have to be in the graphic-novel section.

Sounds like an interesting idea. If you have the resources and the audience, go for it!

Great video. I really enjoyed listening to the details of how he made his comic books.
    Q. It might be too late to ask but, has he tried using AI art for his comic books and if so, what was his experience in doing that?

Good question, I can't speak for him, but he started doing his comics before AI art got anywhere close to being good. And, his artist is freakin' great, so I'll bet he has a certain sense of loyalty. Next time I'm chatting with him, I'll ask. I'm curious now too.

    Q. Maybe I missed it (I was listening at work), I am curious to know did D.B. take his book and turn it into an actual comic book script or did he just hand off his manuscript to the artist? If he just used his manuscript, how did the pages break down into comic pages: for instance, was one page of his written book equal to one comic book page?

Ooo, good question. This would've been a great question to ask during the live broadcast. I do know he stated that he didn't just hand off his manuscript. He had to break each scene down into pieces and gave very detailed character profiles.

That makes sense since comics usually have more of a script format. 👍
