People always say you have a lot of free time in college. I think that only applies to non-STEM majors. My classes eat up my time.
Yeahh I think you're right on this one
well im fucked then
Marry higher iq and higher focus so ur kids don't have the same problems
@@spektree8448ur clearly not a premed
I'm in a non-STEM major but I also don't have a lot of free time( maybe a bit more free time than you)
finally a video without any fillers just value
Hey I am subscriber of yours, just wanted to tell you that keep Posting videos, they help alot.
I somehow passed my freshman year without making any friends (dangerously introvert). Now in my sophomore year its very hard to get into a already formed group. Help me with it😢
join clubs/sports teams and try your very best to be outgoing - if this really matters a lot to you and you put all of your energy towards making friends, you'll get it done.... this is exactly how i have the knowledge to now make these videos, i used to suck at all these things, put all of my energy towards fixing it, now i teach ppl online about it lol
tell urself fk it and just talk to them kids u find interesting/seem like nice ppl to be friends with
find other groups its hard or almost impossible join to already existing ones
you will have a lot of free time in colege
me ,engineering student:6 subject a semester,study schedule full from 9AM to 4PM,lab reports,homework,reading assignments
Why am I watching this , I’m in my last year
can yall believe IM on my WAY to the univeristy for the first time rn, about to put on some music and this vid POPS Up..
thats crazyyy
TH-cam algorithm
A LOT OF FREE TIME? hsdahdhsahasd I mean after checking the USA (highest unis) schedules I have to agree... I'm in Physics first year and I go 8-18 almost everyday (only classes) barely time to eat + Did I mention that I have to work till 11pm (23:00) to be able to do any "acceptable" work for classes? ye Oh did I also mention that I have to do all of this with 0 free hours time? Ye Europe is built different that's why I'm switching undergrads cause they are actually crazy.
This is actually what killed and what kills people passion for a subject or school in general. Which is pretty sad
im also from europe and in uni too and 10hrs a day is absolutely wild bruh
Gonna say 4:21 for rate my proffeser, Look out for difficulty indicator and read many many comments
I accidentally joined 1 teacher who seemed nice but that was it, he didn’t teach (Just TH-cam videos), didn’t take excuses unless it was big like broke an ankle or were dying, had us pay for textbook and had us use honorlock.
That’s why the difficulty was so high
You have to keep in mind different learners. You should have mentioned time management, how to be efficient with studying and how to free up time instead of studying longer then needed. This varies from individual to individual snd depending on how hard a subject is you should mention this. Especially if some people have to work and pay to live on there own
1:28 PHILIPPINESSSS MENTIONED 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
YEAHHH
Honestly, in the beginning ask people what degree they are doing, what that means and why they choose it. Even if you know the degree still ask :D
Hey i have a question
Im scared I won't be able to focus well studying but am uncomfortable using caffeine, is there any other advice for studying?
Study at the same time every single day. If you study at 7pm every night for 1 hour, your brain will start to just associate that time with study time
They say you have a lot of free time. Me getting my assessment year lecture plan. 10 am till 9 pm. With no breaks ofc and no lunch. What is that like bruh
geez, that's brutal
wow never heard of that university.
Jokes aside. nice video
Thank you so much man
Most important tips: DRINK WATER MORE and FUCKING SLEEP!
Every class, bring water bottle. Ideally mineral.
Fucking sleep. Just do it. Sleep at a decent time and at least for 7 hours. The human body is designed to slew so it can repair itself. It’s the easiest difficult thing to do.
why are you f*cking the university tho
Okay now how do I get into a good college
Im in university rn pray for me
dayum, y'all got money for college?
Does anyone
How to stop being sick in college help!
I've never heard of Fucking University before. Is it an Ivy League?
great video bro! How exactly do I introduce myself to the professor in a way that sticks in his head and ensures the conversation isn’t too short, so I don't just end up saying my name and that I’m excited?
Maybe say a fact about yourself and/or ask them about what they love about their field and what got them into it?? Also what u might want to do!
Another W!
Always waiting on your comment brotha 🫡
Hey what tool do you use to edit and who did you learn from to edit in this style? its super clean and id love to know big fan of the vids
Premier pro as of recent
Was wondering, I like certain clubs, activities and sports but I really don’t like the party vibe and alcoholism that college/uni really endorses, especially when I’m easily addicted to anything. Is it fine to cut that out but still not stick out like a sore thumb while in uni??
Oh yeah 100% - You'll get pressured all the time but 99% of people really don't care at all as long as you're a fun person to be around
youre doing what to university
for the part at 1:47 what do we do if we dont have a roomate🥲its been hard trying to feel motivated to go to all of my schools events because i feel like an outcast when i see everybody else out with their on cliques
highschooler here
i can tell from a mile away i’ll be cooked so hard :(
It will be fineeeeee...
No I don’t have any fucking free time 😭 full time job and engineering degree. I have -2 days to hang out with family and do more homework? Study time when?
I’m going to a college that isn’t known for parties or frat life, I know there are some parties but it’s not one everyday. I still want this though, should I transfer if I can’t find what I’m looking for?
Hey older brother, how to choose a college anyway? (As an international student)
How do you deal with feeling very/stressed out and unable to relax?
Try meditating or scheduling downtime - When i'm too stressed, i usually take one day to completely shut off, relax, and watch movies
Who are the best people to avoid as friends?
People who make you worse as a person
Any specific advice for stem degrees such as engineering? Nobody here parties except for specific occasions, and the academics are so advanced and specific that you can't just look up youtube videos to help
I was in marketing, so I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction
@OlderBrother_ yeah that's a big difference haha, thanks though
I'm an aerospace engineer, my advice is to get chegg because it has saved me on many homework problems and has just been a big help understanding solutions overall. If a problem youre looking for is not on chegg I would recommend looking through the course notes, textbook, or asking the professor if you are truly stuck on something. If all else fails try chatgpt to steer you in the right direction but take it with a grain of salt because it isn't very reliable. Idk if I can give you much party advice since it really depends on who you know and who you're going out with, I would say just go to bars with friends because they are usually more enjoyable than house parties but really depends on what you like.
@adept2134 thanks, I'm also aero and I figured out the chegg thing last semester. Me and 2 friends share an account. I don't go to parties a whole lot anyways with a few exceptions
Thanks 🙏
How old do you need to be for most clubs? How risky is it to use and have Mclovins?
Typically, in America, it's 21 y/o - I don't think it's too risky, just be careful and don't do anything stupid and you should be fine. Then again, I don't know your area too well so I'd ask around. I'm based in NYC and 99% of bouncers would either just say no to entry or take the ID for themselves if they knew it wasn't legit. Never cops involved.
i am not american, i go to a regular non american institution, how do i get to know people if there are no dorms, clubs or large gatherings?
tallk to people in class!
how r u supposed to balance work and clubs? i wanna do all the clubs lmao
it's hard but if you're determined, you'll find time
Big bro I am still in Middle School but still I am all ready scared what else should I do ?????😅💀
haha you good, just have fun, socialize, and work hard - worry about university in a few years, you get there eventually
I'm going to be 17 for my first year of college and might not be able to get into bars and clubs, what do I do?
mclovin 🫡
do you need to be super smart for colleuge, specifficly physics?
is rushing/ joining a frat worth it? Feels like the answer varies so much that im hesitant to even try
Give it a try, see if you like it, it's personal for everyone
who still goes to universities anymore ?
Please get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can deteriorate your mental and physical health to the point where your productivity will slow and things will pile up, taking away time from fun things and actually being able to sleep and fix the situation (vicious cycle). Fight hard for your eight hours every (school) night.
On my first job from Univesity I was told that it's the best time to miss sleep, because you won't feel it in your 20s like you would in your 30s
If you're losing sleep for your future, it may be worth it while you're young and there aren't hard physical consequences
Pro tip for sleeping better: Go to bed early and wake up between 4am and 7am. Shoot for 8 hours. trust me, it gets a lot easier to fall asleep, plus you have more time in the morning to study before class and get ready.
Instructions unclear:
I am stuck paying child support to a school baby I dont want.
The relationship with the professor is so real. You don’t have to introduce yourself, but try to be active in class, it helped me a lot. I was really active and voiced my opinions and when I had my oral exam with the professor, she recognized me and even gave me a better grade.
Yoinks brother, how do I even afford university
You guys pay for university?
@@swdk7121 lucky, i prob go to scholarship route
@@Syfnil why don't you guys study abroad? It is very common in my country and not that expensive if you work.
1. Look at in-state colleges that are much cheaper
2. Scholarships
3. Reach out to the financial aid office and really get to know them/make them understand your situation
4. Community college
5. Look into on-campus jobs like being an RA usually gives you free housing
Be a p.i.m.p and get the university to pay you instead. (That's how it works where I live)
Just graduated from university and everything in this video is incredibly accurate, especially with not making decisions that will haunt you and making sure to join clubs/ organizations. My college experience wouldn’t have been nearly as amazing without all the clubs and organizations I joined, they truly let you meet some amazing people. The only other thing I would add is making sure to take care of your mental health. College can be really overwhelming and you will probably have some level of anxiety, stress, or depression that you haven’t experienced before, so make sure you take care of yourself and learn what works for you. Other than that, great list and a must-watch video for people just starting college. 🤙
we getting our university pregnant with this one 💦💦
😶
Stop masterbation
U can go to parties once in a while but imagine paying so much money just to party like did anybody not expect working😂
Too late, I dropped out
lmao
Same bro
I've met dudes at mine who went and worked for 4 years while figuring out what they wanted. Since you've already done it take time to explore and see if it was worth, if not you can go back
6:23 no just no
Finally, I'm fucking graduated; my graduation is this coming fucking November, and my fucking birthday is coming on the same FUCKING date.
Congrats bro. How does it feel that you're leaving college now?
Wowww happened to my sister too!! 😅
as someone who just started university, thank you, i needed this
Let's gooo, good luck
Im not at university yet but finding out about libgen is worth a sub now I finally found a book from 1986 that I have wanted to buy for months but its no longer sold and guess what it was on libgen thanks so much
Hell yeah man, happy to help
what if I am actually doing a hard major like mechanical engineering and won't have a social life no matter what
I know quite a few guys in engineering. If you want to have a social life, you will definitely notice your grades take a hit. My best advice for this is doing both, and finding a happy medium between making memories and succeeding in school. It may take a bit of time to find this, but if both matter to you, you'll do it
I would also add to that. For difficult mayors, just don’t take multiple classes like 4-5. Be cool and take your time, do 3 or even 2.
Rather not burn yourself out and have good grades also. Think of taking 2 classes that way you meet the requirements of a Pell grant while also think of that Semester as a break semester. That will make it better.
I am so screwed with college
you can do it im sure of it
One year into my engineering degree and now im finding out that yall have free time 💀💀💀
It doesn't get better
Also what do you mean by "most" of them are human
just jokes lmao
My english teacher last year was an npc coded to watch the world burn. There are outliers.
made it through a year of uni and not sure how much advice i need but
if libgen fails you annas archive almost certainly wont
if annas archive fails you, consider sharing a book if you dont need it for the hw code
i cannot approach people😭😭
how to make friends
For the free textbook thing you suggested does it apply for all textbooks internationally?
i believe so, just check the site
Too bad, my 1st year of college didn't even start yet and I can tell the alumni sucks
Egypt already has 3 pyramids mate
i knew this comment would come up - wrote that part of the script no research 😂
3:53 this is actually true, I became good friends with my intro to electrical and computer engineering professor through office hours and one day I overslept for an exam I was supposed to take in the morning. Luckily he ran into me in the dining hall and allowed me to retake it during his office hours after he was done eating. I actually didn’t do too bad on it and passed that class with an A.
Damn, here in Brazil, most students go to college in bigger cities, but we don’t move there.
Basically everyone has full time jobs and take at least 30-40 minutes to go to college 3 times a week.
I have 0 freetime and 0 actual friends at college. I might collapse soon
How do I decide what to study?
Also, would being average at math in high school be a sign I shouldn’t do math related courses?
Thanks man love the content
It's really up to you to pick you major (I don't personally know what you like) - You can go into college undecided them select a major later.
For being average at math, I'd say don't major in any hugely related math subjects unless you really enjoy it but a few math classes here and there isnt a bad idea
Very nice guys, keep going to university its very nice so yi can achieve your dreams ok
I'm a 6th year math major. A professor failed me two times on my last class causing me to miss a masters that I had been accepted to. I'm fucking sick of college.
I start uni this saturday actually! Super excited for it because I just wanna get away from my over-controlling mom. And if we get lucky enough our lecturers might actually care more about the subjects they're teaching compared to highschool teachers, so I can ask them and they'll (probably) really care and love the topic. At least, i sure hope so!
Never had that "traditional" college experience. Now in my mid 30s I'd love to do something like this. Live in a dorm, party, drink etc
For the tip on AI, I would just say to NEVER use AI even if its a couple of sentences. Most AI trackers will flag the whole essay as AI even if one or two sentences were copy pasted. Also your teacher is probably going to look through the essay and if it not your name or the name of your citations that are being flagged, they will have some suspicion.
I’m not even in college but this video seems as if every high school should show this video to seniors
This is so off base
As a Civil Engineer, here some friendly advice.
- Be prepared to study effectively (Highlighters, Desmos, Mathway is a great tool to check your work. ChatGPT *Only in an emergency to see an step-step solution if you are stuck)
- Repetition of class notes/ HW
- Go to study hours and have a quiet place at home
- TH-cam Videos to learn more conceptual techniques
- Time Management and prioritize sleep, and study sessions than procrastination
- ASK QUESTIONS *This saved me from dropping
-Ask Parents/Peers/Professors for life advice
-Mediate, Workout, Eat Well
Hope this helps anyone. Also Last Advice. NEVER CHEAT. You are only cheating yourself from success and your education.
Edit: For College-University Advice 😎
How can I thrive socially if I don’t like partying?
What should one expect from the quality of dorms?
Already getting cooked in first week of math
instructions very clear i got a mclovin id card(THE mclovin id) and i now own most of the bars.
College single handedly made me more willing to talk to people
I've been thinking for a while and am not sure if I should use a tablet to take notes in classroom (with a pen) or just use a laptop to type it up. Am gonna be doing aeronautical eng
For me personally notes on the iPad using Noteful premium (just a one time $5 charge) helps so much in uni classes. It’s no question that taking physical notes helps you to remember them better than typing. Also if the professor is taking and moving fast you can just add a textbook on there and type them out and save them later to write out! Hope that helps 😊
@@rosylagoon3600 Thank you so much
i've always found the ipad/apple pencil combo is the best way to go if you can afford it
@@OlderBrother_ Alright, thank you!
You have a lot of free time in college? I guess bro is not a STEM major ;-;
needed to hear this, thank you!
I'm on track to go to college in America, but I'm not American anything to keep in mind.
Just be open to meeting new people and trying many new things
I have a question brother its a really big one
"How do i become friends with you?"
I don't think you're supposed to do that to the university
What if you got lost on the way to college and now in the military
Follow Jesus. Enjoy college
4:55 my whole life was a lie
nah, no free time in college
older brother here to save us again
What is up with you putting "f*ck" in every video title?
@@Dio-uv9yg ik bro, but maybe its fir click bait or for more attractive video
Bro I subscribed to you only after watching your one video and trust me I've never done to any channel, this channel gonna blow up soon and thanks btw
Hell yeaaa, love to hear that
how to network effectively with professors, grad students, alumni, etc?
LinkedIn and school-hosted events with alumni invited too
Help med school is nothing like this
would you recommend getting a job for money/spare time?
Yeah, it’s definitely up to you on this one - If you want to do things like going out with friends, dating, etc, I recommend a job
do you think its better to get a room with a roommate or have a single room (since it might be easier to bring ppl over)
For first year, definitely get a roommate. After that, reconsider what you really want but you do not want to isolate yourself first year. For bringing ppl over, just talk to the roommate and they usually don't have a problem leaving for a bit - it's pretty normal for first years lol
