We compare average income which is income of total income of country divided by its total population of country The average income is also called per capita income
I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that what is meant by "population" is the known population of people living in the economic or geographic zone of the country i.e. within its borders.
Thanks to your video I was able to work out the per capita of sexual assaults by school teachers and catholic priests, I was expecting the priests would take the cake turns out I was wrong and Its actually teachers with a per capita abuse rate of .0007 to .0005 for priests. I think we may need to start looking at teachers in the same light.
@@ThatGuyBobby Schools protect offending teachers and teachers are often moved around to different schools before being reported to the authorities. Teachers typically abuse about 10 children before they are actually arrested. So not only are they worse offenders statistically they are also protected in the same manner.
I understand this, but what this video doesn't explain is why you would care about income per capita, if it's basically nonsensical to include those who don't work? How is that a useful statistic and what would you use it to show?
It does mean per person, but it doesn't make sense why you would want to calculate GDP per capita, when, as the video states, a significant minority of people aren't going to be working and so aren't contributing to the economic output of a nation.
@@FirstNameLastName-okayyoutube How does it not matter that it doesn't make sense? Do you understand how it does, or are you saying you don't know the answer and don't care. You soryt of have to know how it makes sense to fully understand the concept. but I was just raising my concerns about per capita as well. It means per person and you can Google as much for evidence.
@@darkspeed62 Yes i understood what you first wrote and i agree with it. However, you lost me with the hostile tone. Video title is more the point than anything else. GDP was not at all my point. People can use GDP to lie and mislead people as well. It comes down to combining reasoning rather than a single concept and implications. Hopefully it feels now i am more engaging with your concerns.
Hold on one second! Does that mean that if I'm sharing a meal with four people and simply pretend I'm not there, it will cost them £66.67 because I cease to exist? My friends are not good at maths, I think I could pull this off you know 😂

Excellent video,I totally understood it, thank you.
This makes it sound like per capita means per person yet I'm not seeing an explanation as to why people say that it's not true

@darkspeed62 it's okay if that doesn't make sense ( espcially given I never argued it ) the important thing was getting the terminology correct.
