Looks like you know what you are doing and have a GREAT case here. What Bass Clarinet would you recommend for 2500 bucks. I am a sax player but would love to give bass Clarinet a try, even if it's just to play at home! Thanks.
Bass clarinets with a low e flat are RELATIVELY cheap compared to the low c. If you are looking just to play casually a low e flat will do, maybe the yamaha one will do just fine. Most symphonies require a Low C bass clarinet for it has much larger range and I recommend the Ted Ridenour Lyrique 925C bass clarinet. It is one of the ONLY BASS CLARINET WITH LOW C At it's price point so I highly suggest it.
MARKLINMAN1 Kessler low C and Ridenour low C are your only significant new options for bass clarinets under 3K. If you don't need an instrument to low c and don't mind a student level horn there are plenty of Bundy and Vito basses floating around on eBay. Not great instruments, but they "work". If you want a quality instrument you'll need to have a 8K+ budget. Just the way the market is.
Hi I'm starting bassoon next year, I play the flute (for 5ish years), my budget is around 3000aud, have any recommendations for ones that I can buy in Australia? I was thinking of a Wiseman dbn 400 I also plan to play it to VCE or further, which is around 4 years away
if i was a traveling clarinet player-buying this case is a no brainer . worth every penny
