I live in a villlage and eating habits has always been very bad there. Thank God now after trying for long, i have successfully brought big changes to the eating habits of my family. We cook either in Corn oil (olive if preffered but vry expensive so its 2nd best option) and also homemade Ghee. We cut down any fast food, sugar consumption, fizzy drinks, minimised dining out and lowered our fried stuff consumption as well. Do not use vegetable oils, they are very harmful no matter how they advertise.
Mustard seed oil is much better, Olive oil is better too but not in high temperature. Being a Chef I always cook food without oil or less oil.....doing this since 2010...
I am 35 years old living in Pakistan my #1 reason is to leave Pakistan is food. It is disgusting and now I am suffering with 5 diseases only caused by spices and oil. Oil does not improve flavor. Such a stupid and non sense food culture is in Pakistan. For example, sugar in tea is best but sugar in small wrapped ice cream is for kids, but the same ice cream from the litre bucket means ice cream for guest and adults. That's the mentality I have witnessed in society.

But being a Pakistani our taste buds does not accept oil free or low quantity oil food, we usually have curry either vegetable or meat both must have a lot of cooking oil, otherwise we can't like that food ......I wanted to avoid too much oil as its cost is raised and I also want to lose weight but I can't...butter ,olive oil are out of our ranges . I am off cooking/vegetable/seed oil since 3 years. I don't consume anything coming from a factory. I don't eat/drink outside food or in other people's homes. I use homemade butter/ghee/tallow. All my lipids are fine.

So one should look for those oils having high quantities of polyunsaturated fats and low quantities of saturated and monounsaturated fats. THANKS.
Not always. Ghee is high in saturated fat and has been used for centuries further more saturated fat is what our brain skin cells and other body components are nade up of
Monosaturated and Saturated fats are better. Polyunsaturated fats are bad. Omega 3 to omega 6 ratio should be 1:1 or 1:2 max. In the West the ratio presently is 1:20. Research further LCHF -low carb high (healthy)fats ,(normal protein)
