How to: transfer foils over dip powder (how NOT to apply foils)

- Hey weirdos! It was a whole journey but we finally figured out the foils! Here's what worked:
apply foil gel
cure 1 min
let cool 3 min
apply foil
rub the foil in FOREVER or until it separates from the backing
remove slowly
top coat

So glad i found this nail obsession and you Marla! Ive been a chronic nail biter all of my life. Now that i am into this nail dip obsession, no more biting my nails! I love my nails now ❤ thank you for all your helpful insights.
I have used 2 different foil glues that need to be cured, both not great. I got Young Nails 30 second air dry and works great . Your navy blue is lovely and I’m glad your video showed the true struggle of foiling.
Foil is def not easy!! I’ve heard good things about the young nails one!

Hi Marla! I’ve been trying to get the foil nail thing down After watching this live, I now don’t feel alone! Nail foils are tough!
Here are my tips for share to the nail community:
- paint the nail glue gel to the foil and cure it for 30secs (i saw this tip from another youtube.. don’t remember their name).
- I like to use a makeup sponge to rub the foil onto the nail.
Hope this helps other fellow weirdos!!!
I do have a nail room. When I started I had everything set up in my dining room. But, my girls moved and got a place of their own so I turned one of their rooms into my nail room. 😊
Oh my gawd! SquidGame was awesome! I had to get through the first episode as I was in complete 😱 but by then I was already hooked!
Love love bath and Body works. My fav is the small sanitizers, the fun holders for them. I can never go wrong with the classic country apple scent, currently in love with the rose body butter. My husband even has started to use the sanitizersLol,.,,,,

I know this is a bit after the video, but, NSI make a great foil glue,so does Makkartt . Apply , cure for 60 seconds, let cool for 10 seconds. Apply foil rub evenly , start from the middle, then work out up and down. I've never had a lot of trouble with this method. Love your vids.

Hey love! Welcome to the family! You’re right, you don’t have to cure dip powder! Unless you’re using GEL liquids (as opposed to traditional dip liquids). I did use gel liquids here so that’s why I cured. Hope that clarifies! 🫶🏻❤️
Love that you did this! We asked for Foils because we struggle with them as well. Thanks for figuring it all out for us! Would you normally do a gel topcoat on them? I have done foils once and they seemed to lift and get bubbly underneath easily.
Yep I did a matte gel top. If they’re lifting, I would recommend adding a primer before your foil gel
Silicone tools are great for rubbing on foils

Uhm, back when I used to get gel nail polish and my tech did foils, she didn't do it like that. She'd put a thin (emphasis on thin) layer of gel topcoat and the tap the foil on it. Pretty much how you did your thumb. Zero curing beforehand and only curing after the nail was complete, no "foil gel" either. I don't know if the dip base makes it any different but maybe you could try it like that sometime?
PS, I gotta ask. What's the point of putting a full dip mani on your nails if you're going to cover it all with the foil? Why not just do a base dip for strength and then the foil?

I read somewhere to swipe with alcohol after you cure. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but it honestly worked much better. Strangest thing!

This is the first time I’ve watched a live on TH-cam. Granted it’s after the fact but it stinks I can’t comment along with your vid. If there’s a way to, please educate me. Lol! I wear an Apple Watch as I’m a nurse and a social marketer so I do agree that I have my phone on me 24/7 🤦🏻♀️ I do LOVE that I’ve been able to learn of your true personality during this live and I LOVE you even more now!! Lol. You are such an inspiration and I see you using iGel a lot so I checked out there link and oh my goodness but my cart is full and I’m going to go broke!! lol I seriously want all the dip and polish match combos! Have you or anybody tried using the airbrush and is it worth it?

Makkart foil glue is picky. I cure for 80sec and leave for 30 sec works good for me. Love the pinky nail.

I could never get that specific glue to work with my 40 watt uv lamp. I got a stronger lamp and cured for 60 seconds, let sit about 30 seconds and the transfer was AMAZING!!

So my question is if you have full cover tips on how do you remove polish or dip without harming the tip
I use peel off base coat under my dip, but you could also file off the color over the extensions
I know it doesnt sound right, but after cureing the gel, you can try to wipe the nail with isopropyl alcohol and after that when the nail is dry, try to apply the foil. I have a german brand foil gel, and it really works, but it might work with your brand too, GL and thank you for sharing🤗

No activator when you’re using gel liquids, they cure (harden) in the gel lamp!
