I just listened to the podcast for this first aid kit, it should be shared at any RV, outdoor and camping forums. I love how they've thought of so many details to keep folks safe. I'm adding the kits to my Christmas shopping list for my kids who all are hikers, campers, explorers. Also - you made me laugh out loud at your despicable me first aid kit! At least you have one, not many do, but that was funny.
Lol, I think Sabrina picked up the despicable me kit. I would have gone for the Avengers 🤣 and yes we agree these kits are well thought out for people who like the outdoors and would be a great fit for all of the companies you just mentioned. They are still a relatively young company and I look forward to seeing them expand into the market.
Your 1st video was a deciding factor in me buying an Ecotric Folding Fat Tire 2 months ago. After 2 months and 250 miles off the beaten path around Napa Valley, I couldn’t agree with you more. This great bike takes me places I have never gone before on a bike. And more importantly, it makes me feel very young. I’m an active 73 yr old who was beginning to doubt my bike balance. This bike is really a dream to ride. I cruise sitting very upright and comfortable. Thank you for your videos. You helped me make the right choice.
Hi Mike, to be honest I'm always a bit nervous when doing a good review. I'm afraid if someone buys something based on my recommendation and they don't love it as much as I do they will blame me for it lol. I'm so glad to hear your feedback and find out that you are enjoying the bike just as much as I am and appreciate you taking the time to let me know about your experience with it. Take care, safe travels and have fun exploring!
Your 1st video led me to buy an Ecotric 20” folder. Mine is 48v w/s900 controller. In 1st 6 mos, I have ridden over 1,300 miles here in Napa Valley. I have the same story as you about fun and reliability. I’m 73. My weight is down, my energy is way up and I smile the whole ride. Wow, have I seen some beauty in the Napa outback trails.
Hi Mike, That is so great to hear! It is amazing what you can see and explore on the bike compared to just driving by an area, I really like taking the bike out to explore. Of course I could do it on foot as well, but the bike sure does make it fun. I wish you continued safe travels and enjoyment! Take care and have fun!
I’m gonna be visiting Napa Valley for the salmon festival in November. I’m probably gonna be buying one of these bikes as well checking out there. Are you seeing if I wanna move there so when I’m in the area let me check on you and maybe we can exchange ideas about biking and places to go, presently I live just a few miles outside. Los Angeles. Gives you an idea where I’m at
Hi Scott, so glad to hear you are enjoying the bike as much as I am. I really can not think of anything else I have purchased that makes me feel a bit like a kid again like this bike does. Take care and safe travels!
Absolutely a true life statement, thx and enjoy the fun just remember if anything breaks just call them they are terrrific, I burned out my throttle by peddling and throttle at the same time ,unknowingly,my bad,, they had one ,drove to Oakland paid and got a new one ,on the road in 2 days thx Oakland,so I got my wife a ,oh dam wine is good tonight ,hammer yes for Xmas .more power she likes strong things mmmmm.good roads mate.
Yep best therapy for the money, ride with a fused spine and titanium rods and plates for a neck its a game changing purchase for us who have experienced life as humans do .
I'm happy to hear this. I just ordered the Hey Bike and I'm excited. I'm an combat vet and I hurt my back really bad and it just randomly will go out on me. Sometimes I can't even finish a one mile walk. I realized it was really making me depressed so on a whim I jumped in. Cheers to healing and and living the best life you can. God bless.
SO GLAD HE SAID IT MAKES ME FEEL YOUNG AGAIN, CAUSE I HAVE THE SAME BIKE SAME COLOR AND IT HAS HELPED WITH MY DEPRESSION, SOCIAL ANXIETY / PTSD AND MY HEALTH . SOME MORNINGS I WAKE UP AT 3AM AND GO FOR A 3 OR 4 HOUR TRIP . I ALSO GO CAMP ON IT . SO IF YOUR OLD FAT AND TIRED THINK ABOUT GETTING ONE OF THESE . GOD BLESS. SALVATION IS IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Front tire hasn't needed replacing yet. The rear tire (where all the weight of me, my gear, etc sits) is about to be replaced a second time.
I bought two of them, based on your first video and further research. Only had our a couple of months, wife rode hers twice, I made a dozen or so rides and then both bikes were totally burned up in the California wild fire last month. Now we are full time rvers as a result of the fire, lost home car and bikes. I will say that we really did like the bikes and would encourage anyone to try one. I am 81 and had no problem at all.
Hi Al, I am very sorry to hear you lost everything in the fires. I'm glad the two of you are ok and doing well though. Hopefully you found a decent RV park to stay at while you get things back in order. We stayed at a KOA in Oroville California last winter and there were several people living there because they lost their homes to fire. It is devastating, take care, be safe and we will keep you in our thoughts
Al are you guys ok? My Daddy is from Oroville and the fores terrify me. Would you ever park your RV somewhere full time if you had a really great spot? Or do you prefer the open road?
Seanna Mikel I think we would probably stay in a really great spot. We will be looking at property and are considering living permanently in a 5th wheel.
@@MovingForwardAdventures 12 miles and couldnt be happier. I do have a question. I want to buy a cheaper spare compatiable to my 48v 500w 13ah battery. what can I use. thanks alot
Hi Kenneth, glad to hear you are enjoying the bike. I'm really not sure about a cheaper battery replacement. I don't think the batteries they use are anything special, but it may be difficult to find a charger that works with a different battery. Sorry I couldn't be more help
I think this is the most underrated bike on the market. We only have 100 miles on ours, so it's good to hear your good review. Also appreciate your caution about speed on trails. What a bummer if a few ruin it for the rest of us.
Hi Beverly, I completely agree about it being underrated, I rarely hear anyone talking about these bikes. I'm glad you are enjoying yours as well. I believe being responsible with these bikes is very important, I certainly don't want us banned on trails because I really do not care for riding in the street. Take care and safe travels!
Hey Lou, it really turned out to be a great buy and I think if it wasn't for my weight that pedal would have been fine. I should have mentioned in the video that Sabrina's bike hasn't had any issues either, although she does not have as many miles on hers.
I ordered mine yesterday from Amazon and I can't wait to get it next week. I just turned 60 and need some extra help getting threw the wind. I just am not that strong anymore. Already I feel like a kid at Christmas!!! lol Also i am only 145 pounds and so I expect to go a little faster with better mileage than someone over 200lb. Take care
Hi Dave, that is great to hear! I always get a bit nervous when I recommend something that I like, that others may have a problem with it. Thanks for the feedback :) Take care and safe travels!
Great video, my wife is 68 years along in life and has developed some knee and shoulder issues. We like to ride with our 10 year old grandson but she can't go up much of an incline so she's losing interest in riding. I was looking at these types of bike and saw some 1800-2500 dollar price tags and was scared away but, seeing these bike can be bought for less than a 1K I am reconsidering, only problem is now I want one too. We wouldn't be using it at all in the winter months up in northern Illinois but sure would like it at the trails of the campgrounds we go too. This brand seems to be a good value. Thanks for the help, if you're ever around Morris, IL. and need a night to stay give us a shout, we have a 30 amp full hookup behind our house right off Rt. 80 in the country, only issue is you would hear Rt. 80 traffic
Hi Dean, The bike has been great value, the price if other electric bikes is definitely what turned me away from the Ebike for a long time. If you do not need the folding capability I recommend getting one of their full size bikes since they are lighter in weight. Thank you for the offer to stay the night, I will make a note of this in my phone, We appreciate your offer. Take care and safe travels
Thanks bro, I really appreciated this video and it was a big factor in my purchase, with which I am already very happy and haven't even had the bike long. Cheers!
@@MovingForwardAdventures Hey man, I have a question for you - is your bike so difficult to pedal when PAS is turned off that you literally cannot ride very far on streets with mild ordinary grades? I can't believe it is supposed to be that hard to pedal, I would like to do most of my own pedaling but that is impossible right now the way it is. Do my gears need adjusting?
Hi Doug, that doesn't sound right to me. I pedal without power on around the campgrounds and never thought it was too difficult. Before you mess with the gears, I would check your front and rear disc brakes. There is a set screw, I believe it is a hex or Allen key. Turn both of them one click to the left or just one at a time, I don't want you losing your brakes lol.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thanks, sounds like you're vindicating my feelings. I'm glad you mentioned brakes, mine are not great, definitely need adjusting but I was not comfortable monkeying with them myself. Is adjusting brakes easy for the layman to do? Is that set screw all there is to it?
Thanks for the durability review. I've been thinking about buying one of these. I have an ebike that I put together from a kit. It's a 26" steel frame so it's heavy and It doesn't fit in my Fit (Honda). I've read and watched videos about it but most were unboxing and assembling. It's good to see a video from someone who has had one for a long time. I'm sold now. I know were my covid relief check is going.
Hi Tim. This turned out to be a great buy. I would consider this bike to be pretty heavy for it's size. With the battery in place it's about 60lbs. The nice thing about it though is that I can fit both of our bikes in the back of our Ford CMax and RV cargo bay. I'm still loving the bike! Happy shopping and safe travels!
Thanks for the great video. I was looking for a good foldable e bike and your video got me to pull the trigger and order it. Thanks again! Looking forward to hitting the trails!
Hi Arthur, I appreciate you asking, but unfortunately I am not affiliated with the company and don't have any links. The only link we have is our Amazon store link www.amazon.com/shop/movingforwardadventures but I believe you will get a better price buying directly from Ecotric than going through Amazon. Have fun with the new bike and I wish you safe travels!
Ok. Do you plan to do any bike camping trips or will you plan to do some. It seems to be able to carry side bags that will carry extera gear. Gerard. Qld Australia.
Hi Tron, I have not done any bike only camping trips with it, (I know adventures is literally in our channel name, but I wouldn't actually call my self an adventurous person lol) I have added a bike rack on the back (not sure if it was shown in this video or another) this now allows me to carry items from the store instead of loading up my back pack.
Great video, thanks. I have a similar, a bit more powerful bike myself and they are amazing, just like you said "I feel like a teenager again". Thumbs up 👍
Aloha, Love the Video and you made up my mind to get one. I am so tired of gasoline! Bye bye Ruckus and Aloha EBike. 1500 mi and still hele along, I am so happy to hear that. Hopefully I will save a lot of gas money, not to mention that it sounfs very dependable. If you guys ever come to Hawaii, look me up your e komo mai (Welcome) to come stay out at the farm anytime. Just bring the nikes and Ill show you around our Island. Mahalos for the great video. 5 days till she gets here! Cheee Hoo!!!🤗🤗🤗
Awesome! And thank you so much for the offer, we would live to visit Hawaii someday. I feel like it has been our must do list forever. I will be sure to remember your message and offer and take you up on it! Enjoy the bike, I think you will love it and we wish you safe travels!
Do you need back fenders? MUD on the back of your shirt? How much does it weigh? I live in apartment. Plan to store in car trunk. Can battery be removed to charge inside? Where did you purchase? How much? How long is warranty? Extended available? Thank you, Flo
Hi Flo, I bought it for $780 on Amazon, it does have a back fender, but I still wind up with a wet back when riding on wet grounds and puddles. It weighs 56 lbs with the battery and it can be removed for storage and charging. Here is a more detailed video of the bike when I first bought it th-cam.com/video/xl8_pHNbDb8/w-d-xo.html
Good bike..I think new cheetah model feels lighter..just bought it..I have 2 now...I like older one better..also bought larger seat for comfort..and if you use a rear rack make sure its attached to rear tire assembly..other than seat post...my frame cracked due to using the rack
Hi Jim, I've never used a hose on mine. I usually just use car wash detail spray and a microfiber towel to wipe it down. I have been caught in the rain in the bike with no issues so it might be fine to use a hose. I would keep it away from the area where the battery meets the bas though just to be safe. Safe travels and have fun!
well your right,i ride my ebike on full power most of the time which means less miles, but when i drop down to mid power i dont feel im moving fast enough so i click back upto full power and that means less life in the battery.
I don't ride it much in the rain, maybe a light drizzle, but thats about it. I also have a water proof cover for it while I'm not riding it, so unfortunately I really can't say how well it would do in Rain. My guess would be not great, I don't think there are any water tight seals for the battery. I wouldn't risk riding it in heavy rain, the company says its fine to go through puddles and I have taken it through shallow streams with no problems. Sorry I couldn't be of more help
Thank You for your reply. Very excellent. The other guestion i like to ask of you is how much is the speed limit on thee ectric bikes? Mine is a 500 wat with a 36 volt battery. Thank You again!/ i a wait your answer sir.
They've been great. Sabrina typically doesn't like bike riding, but feels these are fun to ride. It's been nice to have someone to go on the trails with me again.
Hi. Since owening the e bike n using it for so long, Have you seen an incress of groth of others using an e bike?. And have you tried using an solar panel to charge the battery while riding ?. Gerard QLD Australia.
Hi Gary, I haven't had any experience with their customer service to really give an opinion on them. I can say that they shipped the bike out to me quickly when I ordered.
Hi just got this and straight out the box I noticed the battery the silver part that should lock into the hole of the black brace doesnt fully go in so it wobbles around when I rode I heard u mention you used some sort of tape? Could u explain more so I can do the same? Totally new to e bikes
Hi Bord, I used a window gasket like this www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DE1ZHFO/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01DE1ZHFOp13NParams and some double sided tape to hold it in place. You might be able to get away with a few layers of Gorilla tape though instead of by a roll if window gasket. Take care and safe travels!
Many thanks for a great follow up review after significant miles... Here in the UK we have limits of 250w/15.5mph (without pedal assist) limits to be legal on the roads... I am not sure that is strictly enforced as I currently see plenty of escooters (all illegal here) zipping around everyday... So I figure unless you are being real silly drawing attention to yourself 500w - 1000w is ok... I would go for 250w if everywhere was flat but I am none too young anymore and hills are a chore - so rather than getting off and walking I am looking at minimizing the effort to get up the hills pedal assist rather than speeding up them on "throttle"... Being of "engineer type" I know Lithium batteries fairly well - so one question that came to mind is "Have you noticed any battery degradation effects (reduced power/range etc) over those 1500 miles?
I agree with you, I think it would be very difficult for them tell what size motor you have and to enforce it, especially if you are not flaunting it. The E-bike is great for hills, I often tell people the electric assist makes everywhere feel like flat road which I like a lot. I have not noticed any range depreciation, but I do not run the battery flat out, I always leave at least one bar of power. I wish I payed more attention to it to give you a better answer. If there is a depreciation (which I am sure there must be) it is not significant enough for me to notice over time.
Hi! Yes I still have the bike and it's still holding up well. I am now just starting to notice a degrade in battery life, but not enough for it to change how I use it.
I put 5000 miles on mine. Well worth the money but the only con is that the motor drinks alot of juice if you're going up hill and going through thick grass.
It has turned out to be a great buy! I agree about using up a lot of power to go up hill. Take care, safe travels and thanks for sharing your experience.
I was thinking, I wonder if I could ride an e-bike. You said it makes you feel young again. I'm 67, I was wondering if it would make me feel like I was your age.
It absolutely would! If not younger 😆 most bike shops now have ebikes for sale, if you have one near you I highly recommend taking one out for a test ride. Just be warned you will probably buy it on the spot afterwards. They are amazing, I don't think I've ever been on am Ebike that I didn't like so don't worry too much about the brand, just find one that fits you well
THANKS FOR THE INFO I was just wondering about how much do new tires cost but if you get over 2000 miles from a set COOL 😎 THANKS 👌 LENNY from the high desert in Phelan CA.
Hi Kenny, I got an ecotrike fat tire folding e-bike two weeks ago and I'm looking for tips on loading/unloading into a Honda Fit hatchback. I have no trouble folding it. The tires separate as I'm lifting it and I find that I'm struggling to get it into the back of the car. I have a tarp that drapes over the lip to prevent damage and then to easily pull it into the cargo area. Some friends suggested a bungee cord to hold the tires together. Do you have an suggestions or tips for me? I absolutely love the bike - I'm a fit/active 67 yo female. I was even thinking about a ramp to wheel it up but suspect I'd have the same problem with the wheels separating and moving around. Would love to hear from you and others with ideas. Thanks! Loved your video.
Hi Jamie, I agree I think the ramp will still cause the same problem. I typically just squeeze the bike together as I am lifting it into the back of our car, but A bungie sounds like the best idea to me to help keep the two tires together. It would have been nice if the bike had some type of clasp to hold them together. Maybe I should write Ecotric a review and suggest that. I also remove the battery when putting the bike in the back of our RV, it doesn't sound like much, but it does help make the bike a bit lighter when lifting. Sabrina put her bike in the back of our C-max once and said that was enough for her lol. It is awkward to lift and I like your tarp idea to pull it into the car once it is lifted up into the back of the car. I will give this some more thought and see if I can come up with anything else that might be more helpful.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Hi, thanks for your reply. I do remove the battery before folding but it's still very ungainly and difficult to lift easily, as Sabrina confirms. The Fit has "magic seats" that allows the 2nd row of seats to fold up and you can load cargo through the side door and and lower lift with lower floor - however I tried that too and the tires wobbling around were even worse in the narrower space. A clasp type mechanism seems like a better idea - I worry that a bungee will do damage to the wheels. In spite of this issue, the bike is great! Thanks!
found these straps on Amazon - might try them: LuBanSir Cinch Straps, Assorted 9 Pack(9“/12”/18“) Super-Stretch Storage Straps Fit House, Garage, Workshop, Boat, Car Organization
I have Cinch bungie straps, but for some reason I never thought to use them for the bike, face palm. I am going to give that a try next time I load up into the RV. The cinch straps work great for everything else and I like that I can adjust the size to what I need them to be.
I am seriously considering this bike based on the reviews i am watching and its price point. do you wish you had front suspension? How has the gearing system held up? any beach travel?
Hi Jeff, I haven't had any issues with the bike at all and now have a few thousand miles on it. I have only taken it on a beach once and I honestly don't remember how it did so I'm guessing it did fine, I've also had it in some snow and that went well too. I mostly ride on dirt roads or paved bike paths and haven't felt that it has needed front shocks, the big fat tires do a good job of absorbing bumps. Hope the info helps and safe travels
Fantastic info! :) I actually bought one myself today second hand and already having a blast with it! I'd like to add a rear rack too... but the one from the manufacturer is sold out - do you by any chance know of a third party rack that would fit?
Actually, the rack from my old bike fit - I didn't think it would, but it was universal enough with additional special brackets that it was easy to adapt and works perfectly! :)
Does the bike have a coaster brake also, or just handbrake? Is the throttle variable speed, or just three levels? Thanks for your time. Very good video! I just started looking. Where did you buy yours?
Hi, there is no coaster brake just the handbrakes which are connected to disc brakes on front and back. It is just the levels of power, but the twist throttle is turn sensitive. I bought the bike directly from ecotric's website. It was cheaper to buy from them then Amazon. Glad you liked the video, take care and safe travels!
This is a great review but sooner or later your going to need to replace the battery, How are you going to replace the battery ? And if so. Would you buy at least 2 spares in the event the company goes out of business ? Is it a universal battery ?
It is a universal battery, I have seen it on other bikes, mobility lifts and scooters. I have a couple thousand miles on my bike now and the battery is still going strong. I didn't buy and spares, it seems like it will be easy enough to replace when needed.
Hi Johnny, thank you for the kind words :) I have been able to go up small hills with throttle only in campgrounds, but I have noticed it goes through the battery pretty quickly when I do so.
Hi I like your video and i have a question. I'm a short person, only 4'10 and I want to have my feet on the ground, so can you tell me the lowest height of the saddle to the ground please?
Yes, I think this would be great for food delivery, especially if you add the rack to the back. Although if you do not need the fat tire aspect it might be better to find an ebike that has a thinner tire, because you will probably get more range out if it. I get about 40 miles per charge with pedal assistant on low
@@MovingForwardAdventures 40 miles range is not bad when you compare it to other e bikes even with slim tires actually. +50 miles range e bikes expensive a lot like. it's very flat where I live so looking not bad. thanks for your answer!
Yes the handle bars can be raised and lowered, but I would say most likely they are as high as they go in this video. I often wish they went a little higher
Hi Sebby, yes you can pedal without power. I do it all the time around campgrounds, because I feel like with the power on it is too fast for the amount of kids running around and people walking with pets.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thank you for this quick response. I'm asking this because I imagined that with the weight of the bike and the size of the wheels, it would be difficult to pedal without assistance. You confirm to me that no. Thanks & Salutations from France. 🖐️
I see you have the 36 volt version. Ecotric now has a 48 volt version with some other improvements for $150 more. Wondering if the 48 is the way to go? Thanks for your response.
Hi Rick, from what I hear a 48volt ebike will give you more torque but a shorter range, unless they greatly increase the amp hrs of the battery. I personally would rather have the range than the performance. The 36volt has been more than adequate for me. I was lucky not to have to make the choice during my purchase as the 48volt was not an option at the time. Good luck with shopping, I really don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thanks for the response. I see Amazon offers your exact bike....only with 48v 13a and s900 controller for $789. (includes a $50 instant discount)
Hi, thanks so much for your two videos. I’m about to buy one of these but does ul certified matter? Those are all sold out and the one I want doesn’t have it. Thank you again!
Hi J and M, to be honest I'm not too familiar with the UL rating gives you with an ebike. I know I wouldn't buy a fire extinguisher with out it though. Here the link to Ecotric where I bought my bike, it says they have 91 of them in stock. www.ecotric.com/products/20-fat-tire-black
Hi anu, I am sure the distance has been affected over time, but not enough for me to tell yet and the folding mechanism is very robust not flimsy at all. The bike turned out to be a great purchase and would buy from them again
Hi Nicholas, I think the company lists the bike as being good for people being 6ft, but I know people have written me to say they are over 6ft and do just fine. If I was looking for a bike for door dash I would look into their full size bikes only because you could get one with a street tire instead of the wide offroad tire this comes with. I still use this bike weekly and it did turn out to be a great buy. Check out ecotric website. They have a lot of bike choices out now.
I believe theu are just taking an avg of the three modes or rating it at it's highest setting. I rarely take mine out of low, so the motor is barely doing anything while I pedal, it's literally just helping me up hills and to get started. If I put the bike on high I don't think my peddling does anything and it's mostly the motor pushing me along
I paid 900+ for mine worth it with front shocks I got from the site as well. Just some questions. Have you had any issues with handle bar stem mine is loose, very wobbley. I've tried to do adjustments on the locking mechanism but nothing works except a zip tie I put around the latch. How far do you get on one charge? You mentioned going about 20 miles, is that throttle only or throttle and peddling?
Hi CROWz, I get a little over 40 miles per charge with pedaling, I have never tried to do throttle only for an entire trip, but I would imagine it knocks it all the way down to about a 10 mile range. I have not had any issue with the handle bars, I wonder if you could squeeze some sort of shim in there to sturdy it up a bit.
How has the battery held up? Have you noticed the range getting shorter? The batteries are expensive for ebikes and I am curious about the battery lifespan. Thank you
Hi Nevada Smith, I'm sure the battery has lost a bit and the range is probably down as well, but not enough for me to notice just yet. I charge the bike at the end of each day when I use it. Sorry I dint have more to report than that. Take care and safe travels
Unfortunately I do think he will be a bit too tall for the bike. I feel like I am near the limit of height at 5'11'' If the folding function of the bike is not important Ecotric sells full size electric assist bikes which would be a better fit in my opinion.
The assembly was easier than I was expecting, but I would think k this bike would be very difficult to carry up stairs. When fully assembled and battery installed it weighs near 60lbs and can be awkward to carry. Lifting it into the back of our hatchback or into our RV is fine, but I wouldn't want to carry it up steps.
We have a friend who is 4'11" and this was just out of her reach of being able to put her foot down with the seat in the lowest position. So I would say at least 5'
Hi Jim, I am 5'11 and feel fine on it, others have written to me saying they are 6'3'' and they ride them with no problem, although I don't think the company recommends riders over 5'11''
Kenny, may I ask how tall are you, and what length pants do you wear? We bought another brands folding e-bike a couple of years ago to try them out, and I find it fits my wife fine, but I am a little too tall for the bike at 6'0" wearing a 32 inch leg pants size, weighing about the same as you do.
Hi Ike, I'm 5'10 almost 5'11 30 inch leg pant size and I would say I am right at the top of the range for this bike. Sabrina is 5'11 and says she doesn't think she could be any taller and still be comfortable. Unfortunately I think this bike would fit you the same as the one you tried.
I’m 6'2”, 230, 32 inseam. This bike fits me perfectly. Buy the newer model with the lcd screen. I don’t like the other at all. I paid $879 for mine but I think they went up a little already. Don’t scrimp the few bucks. This bike is really a bargain at any current price.
Hey- Does your Ecotric bike automatically start in MED speed when you activate the motor? My ecotric dolphin starts in MED and it's a fast start so have to shift to HIGH before it shifts into LOW speed. Any suggestions if this is something that just takes time to get used to or sounds like user error or can be adjusted? thx
Hi Lisa, mine starts in low when I turn it on, even if I turn it off in medium it will restart in low again when I turn it back on. I have the basic control pad no lcd screen, I'm not sure what the dolphin comes with, maybe there is a settings that you can configure? I'm sorry I could not be more helpful
Still good no difference that I can tell now with over 2000 miles. I'm sure there has been a depreciation, but not enough for me to measure in loss if miles or power.
How much did you pay for it? What is the name brand/model? What is the advantage/disadvantage of the small diameter wheels? Very good review - thank you!
Hi Helen I paid just under $800 for it. I bought it directly from the company’s website Ecotric Bike, this is their folding 20" fat tire bike. I guess the only advantage of the small diameter wheels is for storing when it's folded, the downside is that it is not easy to pedal without the electric assist turned on. It's possible and I do it occasionally, but its certainly easier with the power turned on.
Did you get the 36 volt or 48 volt? Thanks
Can you let me know,Is it good for beach trip?
Gives you an idea where I’m at
It is indeed a great bike! I've had it over a year now. It was an awesome gift from my brother. Love it! And like you, it makes me feel young again.
God bless.
@@matthewallman1 good luck it’s really fun to go to town have lunch and ride back totally awesome.
I'm within spitting distance of 10,000 miles on mine. Love it.
That is awesome and great to hear! Curious if you had to replace tires yet, my rear tire is starting to show a lot of wear.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Front tire hasn't needed replacing yet. The rear tire (where all the weight of me, my gear, etc sits) is about to be replaced a second time.
Ok sounds to be wearing the same as mine, my front looks great my rear not so much lol. Thanks for the response

Hi Kenneth, thats great! I don't think you will be disappointed. I'm still loving mine.
So true underrated product.
Love the ride easy to do
Hi Kenny, an ebike is still on my list of things to buy. Pretty impressive yours has held up so well. That's a lot of miles with no repairs.
Hey Lou, it really turned out to be a great buy and I think if it wasn't for my weight that pedal would have been fine. I should have mentioned in the video that Sabrina's bike hasn't had any issues either, although she does not have as many miles on hers.
I feel the same way. I just bought an ebike and I absolutely love it.
Take care
You are going to fly on this lol. I think you will really enjoy the bike, it's been great fun to own and use to explore
Enjoy your bike. Ride it carefully and in good health.
Thank you for the informative video. I purchased the same bike this past September and love it. The bike is of high quality as you mentioned.

Cheers!
Awesome, love to hear this! Hope you have many great miles and lots of fun. Take care and safe travels!
Hey Doug, actually lift the front tire off the ground and spin it before making that brake adjustment, if it moves freely it's not the brake.
Thanks for the great review of the e-bikes! 🚲🚲
Thank you Robyn, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Buy it on Ecotric bike here: www.ecotric.com/collections/e-bike

It also looks like a proper bicycle, too.
Great video, thanks. I have a similar, a bit more powerful bike myself and they are amazing, just like you said "I feel like a teenager again".

Just got my fat tire ebike and wondering how to cleanup and what not to get wet with a water hose ?
Hi Jim, I've never used a hose on mine. I usually just use car wash detail spray and a microfiber towel to wipe it down. I have been caught in the rain in the bike with no issues so it might be fine to use a hose. I would keep it away from the area where the battery meets the bas though just to be safe. Safe travels and have fun!
I’m all about feeling young again - I better get one!
It's great!
Great review and glad I found it since I was having trouble deciding on this bike.
well your right,i ride my ebike on full power most of the time which means less miles, but when i drop down to mid power i dont feel im moving fast enough so i click back upto full power and that means less life in the battery.

Thank You for thee information on the bike.
MY guestion to you is how dose the ecotric hold up in the rain?
Thank You/A wait your reply please.

Do you still have the bike? Still going strong I hope.
Hi! Yes I still have the bike and it's still holding up well. I am now just starting to notice a degrade in battery life, but not enough for it to change how I use it.
I saw your link for the bike accessories but I didn’t see the cargo rack on the list. Where did you get the rack from?
I ordered it directly from ecotric's website www.ecotric.com/products/saddle-bag it looks like it is currently sold out.
Ok, Thanks!
Just bought this bike used. I live in a very hilly city and have to stop block by block downhill. Do I put in manual vs electric when I go downhill?
I leave my bike in electric Assist low all the time, unless I am climbing a steep hill then I'll put it in medium or high
Great review. I'm about the same size as you. Was wondering if this bike would be too small. Thinking seriously about getting one now. Thanks!
My wife is a bit taller than me and she does just fine on the bike as well. It should be a good fit for you
I put 5000 miles on mine.
I had a little trouble loading at first. Then I added a rear rack from the company and it gave many more places to grab. Now, it’s very easy.
We’re all in, thanks
Fantastic info! :) I actually bought one myself today second hand and already having a blast with it! I'd like to add a rear rack too... but the one from the manufacturer is sold out - do you by any chance know of a third party rack that would fit?
Actually, the rack from my old bike fit - I didn't think it would, but it was universal enough with additional special brackets that it was easy to adapt and works perfectly! :)
Thats great to hear, I was drawing a blank on what would work. Take care and safe travels!
@@MovingForwardAdventures Ahhh universal battery, very wise thanks 👍
my biggest concern is how well can it climb hills? would you mind sharing and thank you for your consideration
Hi Johnny, it definitely makes hill climbs easier, there are even times that I don't even change gears to go up hill.
Can it climb hills without pedaling? Obviously it depends on how steep they are. Btw your videos are so awesome and love your candidness and energy
Hi Johnny, thank you for the kind words :) I have been able to go up small hills with throttle only in campgrounds, but I have noticed it goes through the battery pretty quickly when I do so.
Random but what kind of hat is that? Looks comfortable always looking out for a comfortable hat. :D
This is a flexfit hat. Very comfortable, I bought it on Amazon
@@MovingForwardAdventures gonna try it thanks! Also might but the bike 😂
Thank you thank you I’ve been worried
Where did you change the pedal? Was it a specific place or just any sports type store?
Hi David, I found the pedals on Amazon and changed themselves. It was fairly easy once I figured out which way they needed to turn to loosen
@@MovingForwardAdventures thanks
Hi I like your video and i have a question. I'm a short person, only 4'10 and I want to have my feet on the ground, so can you tell me the lowest height of the saddle to the ground please?
Do you think it would be good enough to do food delivery?
Yes, I think this would be great for food delivery, especially if you add the rack to the back. Although if you do not need the fat tire aspect it might be better to find an ebike that has a thinner tire, because you will probably get more range out if it. I get about 40 miles per charge with pedal assistant on low
@@MovingForwardAdventures 40 miles range is not bad when you compare it to other e bikes even with slim tires actually. +50 miles range e bikes expensive a lot like. it's very flat where I live so looking not bad. thanks for your answer!
Oh ok, you should be fine, good luck and safe travels!
Can you raise the handlebars?
Yes the handle bars can be raised and lowered, but I would say most likely they are as high as they go in this video. I often wish they went a little higher
Hi, if I ever run out of battery. Is it possible to pedal without any problem without electric assistance ?
Hi Sebby, yes you can pedal without power. I do it all the time around campgrounds, because I feel like with the power on it is too fast for the amount of kids running around and people walking with pets.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thank you for this quick response. I'm asking this because I imagined that with the weight of the bike and the size of the wheels, it would be difficult to pedal without assistance. You confirm to me that no. Thanks & Salutations from France. 🖐️
Thank you for this video
Does this bike have a quick disconnect to unplug the harness to the motor, so you can remove the rear wheel?
Hi Jon, yes there is a disconnect plug on the wiring harness to the motor hub to remove the rear tire.
Which model Ecotric is this? How much does it weight with and without the battery?
This is their folding fat tire 36Volt Bike. It weighs about 60lbs with the battery and I would guess the battery weighs 8 to 10 pounds.
Maybe you answered this in another video.... how does it handle hills? Can you go all electric at 20mph on a steep hill?
That is a really good price and that is an upgraded controller compared to mine as well. I think that is a good deal!
What is the exact range with just pure electric mode? Thank you
Hi, I have never tried to run on all electric only, but my best guess would be about 10 miles.
Thank You for such a nice and normal video :)
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Does the battery seem to last less distance?
And does the locking folding mechanism seems loose and flimsy?
Hi anu, I am sure the distance has been affected over time, but not enough for me to tell yet and the folding mechanism is very robust not flimsy at all. The bike turned out to be a great purchase and would buy from them again
Would this bike fit a person 6'1" taller and would it be good to use for food delivery service (Door dash/Uber Eats?
Hi Nicholas, I think the company lists the bike as being good for people being 6ft, but I know people have written me to say they are over 6ft and do just fine. If I was looking for a bike for door dash I would look into their full size bikes only because you could get one with a street tire instead of the wide offroad tire this comes with. I still use this bike weekly and it did turn out to be a great buy. Check out ecotric website. They have a lot of bike choices out now.
How you get it to last 40 miles on full charge when on ecotric website it says it go to 20 miles on full charge
In your first video, you have an LCD screen, which records your speed and distance. What is the brand name of that LCD unit?
Hi, in that first video I was just using my phone Samsung S7 and a speed app to display mph and distance.
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thanks so much!
Nice review. Curious about battery degradation and number of charges to date vs spec.
Great updated review 😊. My husband is 6ft. 2, is he to tall for the same bike??
Unfortunately I do think he will be a bit too tall for the bike. I feel like I am near the limit of height at 5'11'' If the folding function of the bike is not important Ecotric sells full size electric assist bikes which would be a better fit in my opinion.
Did you find the assembly difficult? And is it heavy to carry upstairs?
The assembly was easier than I was expecting, but I would think k this bike would be very difficult to carry up stairs. When fully assembled and battery installed it weighs near 60lbs and can be awkward to carry. Lifting it into the back of our hatchback or into our RV is fine, but I wouldn't want to carry it up steps.
Thank you for responding 🙂
Can you ride this on the beach?
Hi Fooksheet, yes I have rode through sand and snow with the bike and it handles pretty good
@@MovingForwardAdventures thank you!
Great Video, Can you put this bike in the trunk ?
What do think the minimum rider height is?
We have a friend who is 4'11" and this was just out of her reach of being able to put her foot down with the seat in the lowest position. So I would say at least 5'
5:20 First aid kit would be a great idea for me. There have been…incidents.
Hi how hard is it to pedal when the battery is totally depleted?
Is it adequate for a guy 6' tall?
@@MovingForwardAdventures Thanks for response! the controller on your bike looked the same but maybe it is different. Glad your starts in low :)
Where did you get the passenger seat in the back? That's a great idea .
how do you fold bike?
How come you don't mention about the battery life after 1500 miles? Is battery life still good or has it depreciate?
Here is the first video I did about the bike that goes into more details about the bike and my first impressions of it, th-cam.com/video/xl8_pHNbDb8/w-d-xo.html
