Whoa I teared up in the middle. Something about it being nostalgic, and to hear her play it now with 20 years of life filtered through it, she sings it a little differently now. Man it really got me haha
@@MrTourgeFlexington Take On Me by Aha, Runaway by Kanye West, Imagine by John Lennon, Jump by Van Halen, Clocks by Coldplay, Tiny Dancer by Elton John, Piano Man by Billy Joel. The list can go on and on. This Vanessa riff is great, but it's not the greatest.
Can people please stop saying she hates singing this? Vanessa has talked so many times in recent years about how while it annoyed her for a long time, she's learned to appreciate this song and be grateful for all the opportunities that it has given her in her life. She sings it first because it's sonically very different than the music she makes now and doesn't really fit well with the vibe her current concerts, plus there are people in the audience who come just to hear that song, so she gets it out of the way first so the audience members who are only interested in hearing that can leave if they want right after, while the fans who are more interested in her full musical repertoire are now ready for the show to really begin after she plays this one, hence why she says "let's do this" after she finishes this song.
When you do something really well, you sort of become stuck to it, regardless if it still interests you. I find the first year or two of a job the most interesting for that reason. After that, if there's no continued growth, it's time to move on.
Hi Vanessa, I didn't know that you hurt your foot. I hope that it is okay. I'm just seeing this video now. Your voice is so beautiful. You have a very beautiful smile as well. I like to see you happy. Thank you for creating this video of your concert!
She hates this song so much and it is evident in her demeanor but to be honest she should be very proud of it. It is a classic and touched so many people worldwide and still loved after all these years. It is also her life insurance with the royalties

This one hit wonder talk is ridiculous. She is insanely talented. Listen to Liberman and Love Is An Art. Vanessa is a brilliant songwriter and musician. She recently said she’s a terrible pop star. That’s just not who she is. The way she performs the song here is real and beautiful. That’s exactly who she is. I didn’t realize how underrated she was until reading these comments.
Thisssss!!😂 Just singing alone is hard, but imagine trying to focus on hitting the right notes perfectly whilst playing, now that’s another level of difficulty 😂
@@tealover70 why would I be kidding? You say that like everyone plays piano and sings at the same time in the same way that everyone breathes air or blinks their eyes? Saw her in Dallas and was actually late so i missed this song and the 2 friends I brought only came to hear this song and we were so upset lol, but then i got to say hello to her and get her autograph after the show so i was satisfied anyway
I can't tell if she's just not super enthusiastic about playing this song or if the way she's playing this is on purpose or both but I honestly prefer this sound to the original

Vanessa is so lucky to have a popular song, so many others never has this opportunity.

She sounds amazing. I love the high notes at the end. Thanks for sharing
I like this more mellow version and I love the strings. ❤🎻

Her voice is so velvety and soft. Just beautiful
She sounds amazing. I hope she is okay crutches-wise.
If you'd walked a 1000 miles as many times as she had you'd be on crutches too!! ;)
So beautiful!
Vanessa Loves this song she loves playing it , I talked to her 2017 she is badass and Loving , Love this song and Love You!!!!!!!!

What a great piano riff, and what a beautiful and representative lyrics: I would walk a thousand miles if I could see you, if I could hold you tonight

I saw her in the Atlanta stop of this tour, it was an amazing set. The depth of sound they could get out of just a piano and cello was impressive.

Well technically she did have two hits, with “Ordinary Day” but this was her only mega hit worldwide
White Houses, Ordinary Day and Pretty Baby is also good song of Vanessa, its popular here in Philippines.
