1)does this "spatial audio" require headphones to listen ? and 2) Do I have to disable "Dolby atmos for headphones" on my windows output device??
2.) Yes, you need to disable any other spatialiser and output just to stereo headphones.
1.) This kind of surround sound is based on a phenomenon called HRTF, which partially relies on sound cues being delayed between ears. Hence you need to isolate the ears for best effect, which headphones does perfectly.
It just stereo with bigger sound stage 😅 no surround sound

Because you need headphones with good or decent soundstage capabilities something like over ear headphones or IEM's are really great.

Con iphone se escucha súper, como si estuvieran alrededor mío(las patinetas y risas junto con la música de hall), en el minuto 1:05 la risa malévola de la patinadora la escucho perfectamente como si estuviera a mi lado derecho dando una sensación de “fantasma”; realmente ese tipo de tecnología debió usarse desde hace mucho y evitar comprar barras de sonido, pero muy seguramente caerán las ventas, es idéntico al Holosonido, sin embargo probé con mis televisores, desafortunadamente ambos tienen los parlantes en la parte inferior, y el efecto es nulo, se aprecia mucho mejor con parlantes laterales, los reemplazaré con parlantes laterales para ver si cambia y producen efecto de sonido Holográfico.
I hate the ghost sounds. That’s not how the sound was intended or mastered, so why should it be like this?
@@Justusson to be fair a lot of times sound is mastered for surround sound. And to enhance the headphone experience for that is cool
Uhm anything "spatial audio" does, can be used as the standard stereo track. So if it is so much better than stereo, why not replace the stereo track with this magic so everyone anywhere can enjoy it? Haha... btw creating/approximating 3d sound with a stereo track is nothing new. We have 2 ears ;) Heck Dolby Surround hid the surround channel in the LR track (phasing stuff).

There are some 3d audio tests on TH-cam. Mostly the ones with DTS coded seems to work. Make sure video is set to at least 1080p. To test you can simply toggle the spatial audio feature on/off in your settings. If you hear a noticeable delay when toggle the feature you know it's working. If not it's not. But when it does. You will hear the difference.
Kind of sucks. Why does Netflix feel the need to alter an already existing soundtrack, made by the creators themselves?
Don’t like the result either. The spatiality comes and goes in strength depending on its surrounding. I don’t like it.
