- G'Day Everyone,
This week we take a look at two of the most popular DCDC chargers on the market, the 40amp+ by Enerdrive & the 40amp by Hardkorr.
weigh up all the facts and figures and which will work best for your 4wd 12v set up.

Thank you for watching and commenting mate, means alot 😁 👍
There are plenty of DC DC chargers in the market. I have a Redarc 40amp one, been using it for around 7 years, but if it was needing to be replaced, I think I would get the 50 amp Victron one.
Hello Gary, thanks for watching and commenting. I wish I could have done all the big brand but that would have cost some serious $$$
Be very careful with victron Lloyd runs it in his van, everything he has bought is very temperature sensitive and I believe at 25°c they start loosing power.
Yes, the 40-50amp versions of DC-DC chargers are getting on the expensive side. The specifications on the Victron 50amp DC-DC charger, says that they start to derate at 1.5% per degree above 40c, with a shut down at 60c. If you have forced airflow (fans) then the chargers stay cooler. The DC-DC charger box that you have looks great, particularly if you have a portable/modular system. It might be worth considering putting fans in to help with air flow.
All fixed now by putting in the Hardkorr. I'm a little confused though. There is no heat what so ever that comes off the 40amp hardkorr, yet the Enerdrive and Lloyds Victron cook them selfs! The hot air that blow out of them is mental. I just don't understand how one company can make one with zero heat and others heat up like a fry pan?
I would not have guessed that the Hardkorr would be cooler than the Victron or the Enerdrive.
very cringe.
Thanks for the support mate, really appreciate it 😊
