It's like baby steps watching Sena chase the other action camera companies. I appreciate the advances made with the EVO, but until they concur the image stabilization issue, they will be nothing more than a "dash cam" for me. Thank you Steve, for this video. You did a very nice job of showing examples of the three cameras. Much appreciated.
Hi Oregon Outback! Thank you for the kind comment. Glad you enjoyed the video. If you've seen any of my recent Moto Photo Mexico travel videos from my ride through Mexico and back, there's a distinct difference between the smooth clips from the Hero 7 and the Sena. Don't get me wrong, the quality from the new Sena 10c EVO is fantastic and matches the GoPro color and clarity quite nicely. But I agree, it sure would be nice if it had image stabilization. However, I totally understand it would probably be cost-prohibitive to include it since they already include so much extra that the GoPro can't do (bluetooth connection to listen to music, microphone to record audio and commentary, intercom to other riders, FM radio, etc.) But I totally agree, I would gladly pay more if they would offer a model with image stabilization. Until then, I'll keep producing content and loving the freedom and creativity the device gives me!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures … Thanks for the response. I'll check out some of those Mexico vids, thanks. I'll keep hoping Sena gets with the program. I really like their other products.
I have been thinking whether I should get the 10C Evo or the Go Pro. Whilst the 10C Evo has the benefit of having a camera as well as comms unit, I am put off by the fact that it’s not a ‘clean’ video i.e the portion of helmet is still visible. I am assuming it probably depends on where we mount the unit but I doubt I would be able to mount to much towards the front of the helmet thereby compromising it’s stability.
@@Jason_MotoPhotoAdventures ideal situation would be if Go Pro introduced a way to feed in the output of the helmet mic or have an input port for mic. 😊
I agree with Jason. If having the side of the helmet is a problem for you, GoPro is the way to go. In fact I have a chin mount on my helmet as well as the 10c EVO on the side. You will occasionally see a "clean" shot from my helmet in many of our adventure videos because I move my GoPro around to many locations, including the chin mount on my helmet: th-cam.com/video/430n5AYyJd8/w-d-xo.html. We feel the variety ads depth and interest to our videos. However, it's a major pain to get audio into a chin-mount GoPro. You either have to use the special audio adapter, or the Media Mod...both of which make the GoPro no longer water proof...and both of which are a pain to run the wires and all that. The other problem is, if you not only want to record YOUR voice, but also the voices of your friends on the intercom, you now have to add a Y-splitter and a second microphone to the setup. One microphone goes to inside your chin guard to record YOUR voice, the other has to get squeezed into your helmet near the speaker from your intercom so that it can record your FRIEND'S voice! Anyway, it certainly can be done. But as I explain in the video, this one simple unit takes ALL those headaches out of the equation...and it just works. Personally, I don't mind the helmet corner in the shot. But if it bothers you, Option 1 is to wire up a GoPro as described above, Option 2 is to record the 10c EVO in 4K and then do what's called a "push in", basically cropping out the corner of the helmet during your post-production. And Option 3 is to get both the 10c EVO and the GoPro, hit record on both, use the 10c EVO video as your "A-Roll" and your GoPro video as your "B-Roll". (Jason just showed me yesterday how software these days has gotten so good at automatically synchronizing multiple video clips based on the audio wave-form.) Once you have the audio synchronized, you can use the audio from the 10c EVO and the video from the GoPro. All options have their obstacles. It's up to you to figure out which works best for your style of recording! :-)
Chris, have you noticed that the gain (volume) of the intercom audio is much lower than your audio on the recordings? I was just reviewing some of my video from my test run/ride and my riding buddy's audio is very low, but it was loud in my headset during the ride. I know it can be corrected in post, but that would be a pain. Maybe I need to set the camera mic to the "Low" setting in the camera setup? Any ideas would be helpful. We start the TAT on June 8, 2023. Thaks dude! Love all your Vids!
Hi guys! Wow...your big trip is just around the corner! We have tried a number of settings to get the audio pretty close. It's not perfect all the time. Which is why we try to ALL record during times when we are chatting. That way, if we have to, we can cut to the other person's audio when they are speaking. But most of the time I get pretty clear audio from everyone coming into my headset. Unfortunately I'm out of town for work and don't have the helmet. So I can't look up our settings. I'll see if Jason can help. But I vaguely remember turning the in-camera mic lower, as you suggested?
Hey this is Jason. Yes riding and the volume in ear not being right is ver frustrating. Without knowing all the details and current settings I can recommend two things off the top. 1. make sure that the speakers are directly over your ears in the helmet. Misalignment can greatly reduce the volume 2. Play with your received settings AND your buddies SEND settings. It's prob a combo of the two. Thanks for the question.
Hi Yoni! ABSOLUTELY!!! Listening to music or just using the intercom, it will last all day. The actual battery life if you are constantly recording lots of video is only a couple hours. However, you can plug the USB cable (provided) into the cigarette lighter on your bike (if you have one), or a USB port on your bike, or a USB battery brick in your tank bag, or a USB battery brick in your jacket pocket. When you do this, the 10c EVO runs off the external power first. So you can continue to record, listen to music, talk on the intercom, and listen to music on your phone all day long if you like! Here's an example of the EPIC all-day adventures we have: th-cam.com/video/DI0AyOEg0Is/w-d-xo.html. What we usually do is ride all morning, recording a lot, but not all the time. Then we stop for lunch. After lunch when we get on the bikes, we plug the Sena's into power and ride all afternoon with it that way. Bu the time we arrive at our campsite, not only did we record all afternoon, but the internal battery we used up in the morning has been topped off. This way, the next morning we start off with full internal betteries on the Senas...and repeat the process. Works like a charm!
Firstly thanks for taking the time to do the very in depth and no holds bared review comparing both units. I have the 10C Pro and for what I use it for it's OK for me. A BIG thumbs up.
I realised that you have two voice recording in the video just wondering because I want to make sure which one are using in minutes 9:00 is voice from 10C Evo or from the go pro 7 ?? Please
The audio at minute 9 was recorded on the Sena 10c Pro. All the "riding audio" was recorded on either the 10c Pro or the 10c EVO, as is marked by the titles. At minute 9, for example, the title says "Recorded on Sena 10c Pro". This means I am recording both the audio and video on the 10c Pro to compare it to the 10c EVO. I also recorded some video using the GoPro Hero 7 to compare the video image quality. For example, at minute 9:21, it says "Recorded on GoPro Hero 7". But this is ONLY the video! I never use the GoPro to record audio during the riding sections of the video. I hope this helps! It's a great product and I highly recommend it!
As a professional photographer, I’ve been particularly keen on the Sena 10c series of Bluetooth communicators for my helmet. The reason for this is because they are the only ones on the market that integrate a camera into their design! This not only allows me to get all the normal benefits of a helmet communication system while I’m out on my motorcycle (intercom communication with other riders, FM radio, Bluetooth connection to my GPS, Bluetooth integration of my phone for listening to music or making phone calls, etc.), but also to have a built-in action camera! Not only can I use the camera to capture photos of beautiful scenery, funny street signs, and general snapshots to remember my adventures…but it also allows me to record video and time-lapse sequences. The video is particularly useful for several reasons, especially because being a fully integrated unit, I can record narration and audio with that video. This makes moto-vlogging, or creating TH-cam videos about my adventures really simple to do. But in addition to that, I use it as a dash-cam to protect myself in the event of an accident. Using a feature within the camera called video loop mode, it’s constantly recording the view in front of me, and the actions of the drivers around me. If I’m ever cut off on the highway, or have a distracted driver not see me and run me off the road, I’ll have video evidence of the incident. Previous generations of the Sena 10c series have been lagging behind current action camera technology from the big contenders like GoPro. The original 10c only recorded in 1080p. The 10c Pro (which I reviewed here last year th-cam.com/video/SnRGDZgZDP4/w-d-xo.html), upgraded that to 1440p (2.7K). However, I’m excited to FINALLY have my hands on the new Sena 10c EVO, which has 2160p (4K) quality!
Hi @@masculine1967! With just the battery, I guess about an hour or two. But when I do my long trips like this one th-cam.com/video/s8Av65qL_mY/w-d-xo.html, I plug the headset into the USB port on my handlebars, or into a small USB battery pack (like you use for your phone) that I keep in my jacket packet. In this way, you can record ALL DAY if you wish!!! :-)
@@masculine1967 my pleasure! I hope you subscribe and follow our adventures. We plan on doing an updated long-term review on the 10c EVO and other devices soon that I think you'll enjoy.
I watced your video before purchasing... Since I think you are quite into these CAM stuff... I downloaded Camera App, it actually worked for a couple of hours and it stopped. It cannot be run again on neither of my Samsungs Android phones. I tried w/ deinstall, reboot kinda thing... nothing, nada, zero :( I am horrified I paid 500 euros for smth that now I cannot use conveniatly. Such a scam... So here's my question. Is there any other app from the Google play besides the Sena Camera App that can connect to the Sena 10C and offers the live view from the device and offers at least some CAM setup. Thank you.
Hi Bambi17ish! I'm so sorry you are having trouble with the app. Remember you should have WiFi and Bluetooth connected. When we can't connect, it's almost always because we forgot to turn WiFi on. But once we turn it on, we always connect no problem. My friends Jason, Steve, and I do lots of long trips. All three of us have Sena 10c EVO. Like any electronics, we occasionally have to re-start if connection is bad. But other than that, they always work great! You can watch the video we released yesterday to see how well they work with recording video AND audio from our intercoms as we chat while riding: th-cam.com/video/dhs96YJFnoA/w-d-xo.html. I recommend downloading the instruction manual and trying one more time following step-by-step. If this doesn't work, perhaps you can return it to the shop, or send it back to Sena for an exchange? Perhaps it's defective? I know that sucks. But any man-made product has the possibility of being defective. Unfortunately I don't think there are any other apps that work with the Sena camera system except the Sena Camera app. Again, I'm sorry you're having trouble with yours. Since I've been using mine for several years with no troubles, I'm afraid I don't have any experience to draw upon to help you with your specific situation. I'm sorry I can't provide more, and wish you luck in getting it resolved.
Yes! I would love that as well. It's one thing that is missing. Of course you can add some video stabilization in editing. But it's not always the same. The good news is, the quality and color profile of the video is now just as beautiful as the GoPro. The video I'm seeing from the 10c EVO is a big step up from the 10c Pro.
Chris how is the battery life in the 10c Evo compared to the GoPros? We currently have a GoPro 9 Hero and the battery life is approximately 50 mins or so.
Hi Elijah! Check out our latest video: th-cam.com/video/430n5AYyJd8/w-d-xo.html. It's an example of how we often ride from sun-up to sun-down, using our Sena 10c EVO intercoms all day long, rolling video clips throughout the day, and never have a problem with battery power. We start the day off with a full charge. We usually make it to lunch with plenty of juice still left. Sometimes we charge the helmets up while we're at a restaurant eating, and they'll last the rest of the day. But usually, or if we're in a remote area and just stop to eat our packed lunch in the woods, we plug the headset into power after lunch before we continue riding. I personally plug mine into a cigarette lighter port on my handlebars, using the included cigarette lighter cable that comes with the 10c EVO. Jason usually plugs his into a small USB Battery pack that he keeps in his jacket pocket or in his tank bag. Steve plugs his into a USB port mounted on his handlebars. Either way, the 10c EVO can actually charge itself WHILE you're using it! This way, when we arrive at our campsite or motel for the night, the helmets are already fully charged. So we just turn them off and they are ready to go for the next morning. Piece of cake! If you decide to get one, please use our link to get the best deal out there...AND to support our channel at no cost to you. Amazon pays us a small commission when you use our link. Thanks and enjoy!
Thanks Mark! Yes indeed. I've since learned that my early concerns were unfounded. I've ridden through several rain showers and taken my 10c EVO on tons of trips without any issues: th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html. I love it!
Great review but now I am worried about buying this because of the charging connector. I did a mod video on how to add a battery for all-day recording on my helmet. Sometimes we do get into some rain and I don't want the camera ruined. But thanks for taking the time to review this new unit. Ride Safe
Thanks for the kind comment, HarleyDayRider! I have to say, now that I've owned this unit for several months, and taken it on a 4500 mile trip around Mexico and back, my concerns about the charging port cover are greatly alleviated. I got caught in the rain several times and just continued to record and listen to music without any problems. Here's the worst day of rain from the trip: th-cam.com/video/KOL8PKZKpJo/w-d-xo.html. Also if you watch other episodes, when it was dry out I would frequently hook up either a battery pack (which I keep in my inner jacket pocket), or the cigarette-lighter cable to the 10cEVO for all-day use. Sounds like you do something similar! :-) Anyway, I highly recommend this headset now that I've put it through the ringer.
Hi Tortelvis1! Unfortunately I no longer have my 10c Pro. I sold it when I upgraded to the 10c EVO. I don't have any trouble with those loud beeps in the 10c EVO. I looked through my my settings in the Sena 10c EVO app and couldn't find anywhere to change that volume. I wish I could help, my friend. Perhaps you can email Sena? All the best...
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thanks for the info Chris! Can I ask you a question about the Evo? When you are listening to music or on a phone call, if you turn the volume Job dial all the way up, is there a beep that lets you know the volume is maxed out? That is the beep on my 10c pro that makes me dizzy from how freaking loud it is. Let me know please because I will gladly upgrade if I can get rid of that gosh darn beep
@@tortelvis1 yes there is a beep at the top when you rotate the dial to full volume. But it's actually not that loud. I wonder if they heard the feedback from everyone about the 10c Pro and made it lower volume. The beep doesn't bother me at all on the 10c EVO. But honestly, there are many better reasons to upgrade to the EVO. Since I owned both the Pro and the EVO I can speak from experience. The quality of the video from the EVO is MUCH better than the Pro. I highly recommend the upgrade. Plus they are on sale right now for about $75 discount. Here's the link: amzn.to/2XAmJ9b. You can also do like I did and sell your old 10c Pro on Facebook Marketplace for about $250. That way the upgrade is very cheap! Or you can put your 10c Pro on your friend's helmet so you can talk to each other and he can record you when you ride together. I hope this helps! Happy Holidays...
Yes it does. It's called loop mode. I use it around town when I'm just running errands or in traffic...basically anytime I'm not on a trip recording my adventure. In loop mode, you start recording when you leave the house. The camera continuously records clips in short segments (5 minutes I think?). As the card fills up, it goes back and records the current footage over the oldest footage. If anything ever happens to you, you'll always have that evidence captured on video!
I really want to like the video quality, but it's tough. The go pro looks so much better to me. Still, it's nice to see companies creating devices such as these. Hopefully at some point, we'll actually get a bluetooth device with top notch video quality and audio quality all in one.
Totally agree! Fortunately I'm learning that "content is king". After a lot more experience telling stories on TH-cam, I realize that as long as you're telling a compelling story with great content like this, th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html, any defects or limitations in footage become negligible. Even my new GoPro Hero 8 doesn't have an FM radio, a wireless intercom system, etc. So each device has its strengths and weaknesses. But hopefully one of these two giants, or some new startup, will marge the best of both worlds into one device for us! :-)
I want bluetooth to listen to my phone and take calls, and a "dashcam" for my bike that's on my head so its looking where I am looking. For me, this is a perfect mash up and saves me a lot of money in the long run. If I want to actually record my rides someday I would buy a GoPro or something similar. But since I will only save videos if something happens, as long as I can get a good view of a license plate or something that happens near me then I am fine with it.
this is not a Hollywood movie camera, it is an intercom system so you can talk with you group, with a camera added. For that purpose it is more than adequate. For me, the GoPros are just too bulky. But imagine talking with your friends and having that convo on the vid too......
Thanks ampcarracing! Glad I could help. I have an HJC RPHA MAX helmet. I think they were replaced with the RPHA 70? Anyway, you might get a chuckle out of this follow-up video about the 10c EVO: th-cam.com/video/OpFIjo50t9g/w-d-xo.html. I hope you'll subscribe and check out some of our adventure videos too! Cheers...
I’ve got a 20S that I’m thinking about replacing with a 10C model so I can record some video/take pictures with as well. I think the Evo is worth the extra $90 over the pro just for the 12mp stills. Sucks trying to take my iPhone XS off the handlebar mount just to snap a pic then have to switch back to navigation when I put it back on the bike.
Hi Rob! Been there, done that. Had a few close calls when trying to take the phone out to take a snapshot, leaving only one hand on the handlebar, and not paying good enough attention to the road! You will absolutely love the simplicity of just pointing your head in the general direction, and pressing the shutter button. Plus of course you'll get all the other amazing benefits!!! :-) If you decide to order one, I'd love it if you'd use my Amazon Affiliate links: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/2XAmJ9b Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB Micro SD - amzn.to/2OwP0cT. Amazon sends us a little kickback as a "thank you" for the referral. :-)
Chris I have used GoPro and now use the Drift Ghost's coupled with Autocom and have been happy with them for the last 4 years. The biggest benefit is the charging ability whilst filming and with a 32sd card I can film for 6 hours. Great for the Tours. I really am keen to move into bluetooth and like the Sena 10C EVO. I have heard that the battery life is 2.5 hours filming at its best so my question is can it be charged whilst filming by using a battery pack? Thanks in advance and your videos are great btw.
Hi RJH! I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. To answer your question, YES! If you plug your 10c EVO in before you turn it on, it will charge while recording, and run off the auxiliary power all day. On my trip through Mexico, I frequently plugged it into a small power bank inside my jacket, or plugged it into the cigarette lighter adapter on my bike. I never had a problem with power. Plus, since it accepts up to 128GB cards, you can truly record a ton of footage. I'm a heavy user and had zero problems listening to music and podcast on all-day rides with the bluetooth from my mapping softward telling me where to turn, and reaching up to tap the record button any time something interesting came along. :-)
Chris, thanks for the good review. Your comment about the charging port made me think I'll need to add some diy hydro isolation... Or a way to glue and unglue the cover easily enough. Some extended rubber glued to the cover and velcro on the side, perhaps? Will see when my unit arrives. Very useful. One thing I noticed is that the helmet you are using is a full-face one. Have you tried putting this on a flip-up version? I got a Neotec 2 helmet and I have used the screws-based mount from 10c, seems to kinda sit in there but I will have to sacrifice the option of having an integrated SRL2 comms. No biggie, considering 10c EVO has both comms and camera. But mildly annoying.
Did you manage to find a way to solve the charging cover issue? It is my main concern as I know from experience that these flaps dont last long. Disappointing to see how the new u it already has this lose. The 10c pro solution looked much better. What are your thoughts now that you have the unit in hand?
The other issue Ibsee with the new design is the small gap beside the lens angle adjustment knob. Doesnt it get full is bugs and dirt? If it does it seems impossible to clean. I doesnt seem like this is built for motorcycle travel.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Hi there. So I've been using this (lockdown notwithstanding) for about a month, so far no issues. Rode it in some not-entirely-major rain as well.
Thanks John! Battery life is a non-issue because you can plug it into the cigarette lighter on your bike, or a battery pack in your pocket, and it will continue to charge itself while simultaneously recording! Check out our latest adventure video where you'll see we rode all day, through the scenic back roads and dirt tracks of Utah, with all three of us chatting on the intercom and recording video clips on our Sena 10c EVOs the entire time: th-cam.com/video/JzYtjx2ktxo/w-d-xo.html.
PS: I should mention that charging cover I was worried about in the initial review has turned out to be AMAZING! I've been using the 10c EVO for over a year now, from daily commutes to long distance adventures, crossing America coast to coast, plus down into Mexico and back, through blistering hot weather, and pouring down rain. This little device just keeps working like a champ!!!
Thanks Rambler358! Yes it does. I plug mine in to a small USB power bank inside my jacket pocket, or in to my cigarette lighter adapter on the handlebars. Keeps me rolling all day long!
I just bought one and it’s awesome but the only thing that I hate the most is that they took out the mesh network out of the device so that means you’ll have to go and buy a mesh adapter thats going to cost you another 170 dollars.
Hi Throttle Happy! I don't think any of the 10c units has ever had the mesh system. It's a newer feature in their units like the 30K. Others want image stabilization as well. I think if they included everything we wanted (like mesh and image stabilization) in 1 product, it would be so expensive everyone would just complain about price. :-)
Chris, thanks for the review. Just getting into buying my first "all in one" set and for what I need I am now sure I'll take Sena 10C Evo. By the way which of the other communication sets from Sena would you recommend to be connected to 2nd helmet. There I do not need camera just audio connection? Thanks again and nice to follow your videos.
Thanks for watching, Janez! I've been using my Sena 10c EVO for over a year now and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I've recorded so many amazing adventures with it, which you can find on our TH-cam channel. My two riding buddies have also upgraded to the Sena 10c EVO for their primary all-in-one helmet camera. You might enjoy this video where we talk about the various cameras we use and how we record our crazy adventure films: th-cam.com/video/x8iSOc38oaQ/w-d-xo.html. :-) To answer your question, any Sena should be compatible. But if you're looking for an inexpensive unit with good features, I'd go with the Sena 10S, which you can get here: amzn.to/3wjEGci. Or get the Sena SMH10 for even cheaper but fewer features: amzn.to/3f7mmNW. Here's a chart of features: sena.hocoparts.nl/data/Sena_vergelijking_intercom_2020-01_UK.pdf. ENJOY!!!
I had the older 10C and it could use 64GB SD card then, on Sena site they declare the evo accept SD card uoto 128GB as opposed what you mentioned in the Video 32 & 64 accordingly. A major issue with the 10C was battery life I had to ride with the charger connected which eventually broke the charge plug and ruined the unit all together. How's the battery on EVO? Last question is the Tagging mode I had on the 10C is it still there on the evo? it was a great feature enabling me to keep scenes otherwise I would have missed since while riding you are not always free to start recording on time Thanks
Hi Zapopper! I also had the original 10c, which I sold to get the 10c Pro, which I sold to get the 10c EVO. :-) The EVO is by far my favorite so far. The quality of the video is SO MUCH better than the others!!! You'll have to check the specs as far as which cards they take because they often change from when I first did this video, as they do updates on firmware. For example, I have a friend who uses the original 10c and he uses a 128GB card in it, which according to their specs won't work! I also sometimes use a 128GB in my EVO with no problem. The EVO is smaller in size than the 10c and 10c Pro. But they managed to keep the battery life approximately the same. I can use it all day for just music and communication. But recording video it only lasts several hours. However, I find I have no problem at all plugging it in to use the USB power off my bike's electrical, or a small USB Battery Pack inside my jacket pocket. I do this all the time and have never had a problem with damaging the charging port. The new port is in a different location. Maybe they made it stronger? As far as the Video Tagging mode...yes they kept this great feature!
interesting video. Have you powered the device with USB plug? In this case, have you encountered any problems with the use of intercom functions, for example?
Hi Luca! I power the 10c EVO all the time with USB. Sena was very smart in designing it so that it would charge itself while you're using it! Have you seen any of our adventure films like this one? th-cam.com/video/Im8M-tRJXuY/w-d-xo.html. My friends and I all have a Sena 10c EVO. Sometimes we will ride 8, 10, or 12 hours in a single day! Usually we can ride all morning using the intercoms, listen to music, and recording video clips using just the device's internal battery. By lunch time it's getting low. So after lunch I plug it into the USP port on our bike (or into a small USB battery pack inside my jacket pocket). The rest of the afternoon we can continue recording video and chatting over intercom. By the time we reach our camp that night, the device is fully charged so we can start off in the morning again using just the internal battery. Works great!!!
Hi Carlos! I listen to music all the time when I'm riding. So I'd say I love them! Of course the don't have the same base as a high-end Bose system. But they sound great, while not completely drowning out the traffic so that you can still hear an ambulance trying to pass, or someone beeping their horn. The quality of your helmet, as well as whether your bike has a windshield or not, may affect the volume of wind noise at high speeds of course. But my mid-priced HJC RPHA MAX is fantastic! If you're looking for an all-in-one unit, don't hesitate...you'll love it!
Hi Mark! I had no trouble with the app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 when I recorded this. And I haven't had any trouble on my Galaxy S10 since upgrading 2 weeks ago. Hope this helps!
Hi Chris, thanks for the unbiased reviews and well informed videography opinion communicated easily to camera cave trolls like myself. If I may I have two brief questions for you regarding the Evo. 1) can you stabilise the video after the fact in some form of after effects software? 2) Is it purely the lack of stabilisation or is it a depth of field issue with the lens on the Evo that makes the video seem less crisp with more artifacts than the GoPro. Thanks again from Perth, Western Australia.
Hi Kirin! Glad you enjoyed it. And after a year of use, may I say my worries about the two rubber covers were completely unfounded. I've had zero problems with them. Anyway, in theory you can run stabilization software afterwards. But it's extremely limited in what it can do. Plus it takes a HUGE amount of computer power and resources to render the software-stabilized footage. At least that was the case in Adobe Premiere Pro. So we've decided not to bother. If you watch any of our travel videos (here's the latest release: th-cam.com/video/TPq-lO5yfl8/w-d-xo.html), you'll find as long as you're telling a great story you don't even notice that the video from the Sena isn't stabilized. So I say just go for it! Make your story a good one and don't worry about whether it's stabilized or not. In fact in some of the action sequences, the un-stabilized footage actually looks more "real" and "in-the-moment"! Note that only my helmet camera is the Sena 10c EVO. My other riding buddies have an original 10c and the intermediate 10c Pro. The quality of the 10c EVO is very much on par with my GoPro Hero 8, which you'll also see in several clips. Hope this helps!
Hi Kirin! Also check out this video about the various helmet cameras and action cameras we use to record our adventures: th-cam.com/video/x8iSOc38oaQ/w-d-xo.html.
Yea that charging port is a non-starter for me.. As I have external batteries plugged into my 10C pro for longer recording time. Yes I have been caught in the rain with one plugged in and didn't have any issues (so far)..
Hi Doug! Now that I've been using the 10c EVO for several months, I actually think it's not as bad as I initially believed it would be. The covers have stayed in excellent shape after repeated use, and still seal perfectly. I had a 4-hour ride in cold hard rain coming back from my trip to Mexico. I kept the 10c EVO on and playing music the whole time without any problems at all.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures The cover isn't the issue.. it's the position of the port. Like I mentioned on long rides I plug in an external battery while riding when I have the camera on the whole time. If it rains that water will more than likely pool in the evo usb port, whereas on the pro it doesn't.
@@dougm5231 I get it! I wish they'd kept the port at the bottom as well. But honestly it hasn't been a problem. I too plug my Sena into a battery pack when I'm on long rides. For 2 weeks riding around Mexico I was on the road all day almost every day: th-cam.com/video/J8o6Pm0X764/w-d-xo.html. When it started to rain, I unplugged it and sealed up the cover on the port when I would pull over to put on my rain suit. When it stopped raining, I plugged it back in when I pulled over to take take the waterproof layer off.
Hi. Great video. I was wondering how the quality of the pictures are? And if there is any difference in quality between taking a picture and taking a picture while video recording?
Thanks for the kind comment. Being a professional photographer, I would say the image quality isn't what I would shoot for a paid assignment. But it's great for grabbing quick snapshots of a funny roadside billboard, or an interesting landmark.
Hi ri34on! I'm glad you liked that shot. That was the very first time I've used it. I dubbed it the Trinity Cam. It's a GoPro attached to a carbon-fiber selfie-stick, which attaches to the rear luggage rack. I'll show that in detail in a future video. Cheers...
Thanks Oleg! I hope you've seen some of our recent videos like this one: th-cam.com/video/7BrP4SypKD4/w-d-xo.html. We took your advice and switched to 60fps on everything. :-)
If you avoid riding at night for safety reasons so the new lens doesn't bother you, you would think for safety reasons you wouldn't ride in the rain so the new charge port location shouldn't bother you also...
Excellent point, Shawn! And I do avoid riding in rain when I can...but sometimes it just happens. :-) Regardless, I will say that I've started to change my mind on the charging port cover. It's actually held up REALLY well! I've been caught several times in the rain, and even continued listening to music and recording video, without any problems. I love the new Sena 10c EVO!!!
Hi Michael! Thanks for the comment. I've had several comments about that. But now that I've been using the EVO for several months, including an amazing 4,500 mile 2-week adventure through Mexico, I've come to realize it's really not a problem. I've ridden through lots of rain and never took it off. If you push the rubber piece down firmly, it actually "clicks" into place and really seals the unit quite well. One day I road through pouring rain for over 4 hours and it just kept on working without a single problem. I'm very happy with the purchase. I hope this helps!!!
You're very welcome, @@mleys55. And yes, the "all-in-one" is why I love this device. Check out this episode in Mexico when it rained on us pretty good...yet I was still able to use it all day long to record the adventure! :-)
Hi Ben! Absolutely! If you look closely, mine is a modular helmet...HJC RPHA MAX. Also, my buddy, Jason uses one on his modular helmet. Check out our latest adventure video where you can see the footage from the camera and hear us recording each other over the intercom as we ride: th-cam.com/video/1nMIH2yxRR8/w-d-xo.html. My other friend in the video, Steve, has a 10c EVO as well...but his helmet isn't modular.
Hi Alex! All day long if you plug it in! On long trips I usually ride all morning (using intercom, listening to music, and recording video clips) using the internal battery. Then after lunch I plug it in (either a USB battery in my jacket pocket or the USB port on my handlebars). This allows it to recharge while I'm using it. At the end of the day I reach my campsite with a fully recharged Sena. The next morning I repeat the process.
It's intriguing. I _do_ need another Sena. And _would_ like to get a cam on the side of my helmet. I have the mount on the side for a GoPro but it's at a weird angle and I just haven't fixed it yet. About time for a new helmet too.
Hi Chris! Great to hear from you, my friend. Being such a great photographer and storyteller, you would absolutely LOVE this product! I went through the two previous generations worth of trials and tribulations for you...HA! And I'm here to say this third generation is spot on. You'll particularly appreciate the beautiful picture and color pallet over the previous models. I would recommend taking the GoPro off your helmet and using it for cool cut-away shots...such as different angles of the road ahead, shots looking back at you, etc. If you noticed at the end of the video, and sprinkled throughout, I used my GoPro in such a manner to add interest and variety. Plus I use those shots to cover up and hide any glitches or mistakes I've made in editing! Anyway, I highly recommend it. If you decide to get yourself one for Christmas, I'd love it if you'd use my Amazon Affiliate codes: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/2XAmJ9b Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB Micro SD - amzn.to/2OwP0cT. They give me a little kickback for referring you. :-) Get one! You'll love it!!!
Hi HiddenMonkey! I'm SO GLAD you made that comment. A friend of mine who has a 10c and is traveling with me on the Trans-America Trail (check it out at th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html) can't upgrade his firmware. I'll tell him to try a smaller SD card. Thanks!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures yeah I had to buy a 10gb SD card just so it could update the darn firmware. I really hope that bug is gone from the newer versions
Dear Chris, First of all nice video!! Well, give us a feed back about water resistance on "evo" ...have you test it during rainy days? You have mentioned something about charging port, which seems to be correct and needs to be noticed by sena. Well you ve really paused me from buying this model. I would like to have your feedback. Regards njoy Riding life!!
Hi P Kant! Thanks for the kind comment. The feedback is more positive than I ever expected! I've put a LOT of miles on my bike since getting the 10c EVO. Many of those were on a long adventure ride through Mexico, which you can check out here: th-cam.com/video/G-Xr-eTdje4/w-d-xo.html. During my trip I got caught in bad weather several days. One day was super cold with pouring rain for 5 hours!!! I never had a single problem and in fact recorded during the rain each time. The product has been working fantastic and I haven't had a single issue. The rubber battery doors that I thought would be a problem and would lose their seal have not become a problem at all. I am extremely happy that my initial reaction at these changes was completely unfounded. It's a great product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying it!
I like the 10C Evo and am tempted to buy one but I can't come to terms with the fact that a significant part of the shot includes the helmet. I think that the next great development from Sena would be some sort of AI type feature which automatically removes the helmet form the recording - much the same way as a certain action camera removes the selfie stick from the shot. What do you think as a pro?
Hi Michael! I guess it's a personal preference thing. But I personally like that the helmet is in the shot. It provides perspective. I also mount a GoPro to my helmet's chin mount. But that's a totally different shot. So having the 10c EVO gives me multiple camera angles with totally different shots, which I like. However, if you don't like that the helmet is in the shot, you could easily record in 4K and then simply "bump in" the video during editing, essentially cropping the helmet out of the frame.
Good review. But yeah, what Sven said: the new Sena's video is herky-jerky compared to the newer GoPro in your examples. I know, I know, there are other features that riders will like. But in the end, effective stabilization is pretty wonderful. The jerks and shakes are magnified when you present the results on a large screen. If you watch your video on a smartphone, who cares? It's all about priorities, isn't it.
Thanks for the kind comment, Jim! I totally agree. Image stabilization should be next on their list. The video quality and color profile is now spot on! I was very pleased to see the improvements over the previous model. One nice thing is you can always add image stabilization in post-production. I'm planning on trying that on a future video to see how close I can get it to the GoPro. I wonder if adding stabilization would make the cost too high? Maybe they left it out to meet a certain price point? It's about the same price as a new model GoPro. The GoPro has stabilization. But the Sena has intercom, FM radio, bluetooth for music, gps directions, and more. It packs in a TON of features for the same price. So logically something has to give. But YES...I hope they find a way to add that in a future model...I'd have to upgrade AGAIN!!! :-)
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Yeah, it's a mystery why they left out digital image stabilization. The GoPro and DJI offerings have perfected it. I've had two video cameras that predate successful image stabilization. The video is shaky at best, and post processing often does very unexpected things. I shot one video on Deal's Gap about 3 years ago, and used a post process shake stabilizer. So, the horizon and trees are sort of stable, but the road centerline jumps all over the place. Makes the *road look drunk.* I have a 120 inch projector and screen at home. You should *see* what it can do to your sea sickness propensity with shaky video. *Urp.*
@@MotoPhotoAdventures That would be a great idea to compare the GoPro stabilization versus post production ability with the SENA. I think many of us could make the jump if post production stabilization smoothed it out enough. I have a 20S as do many of my riding group. I have an older GoPro Hero 3 that I have the SENA backpack on for recording our group conversations. There's been some pretty great interactions that I'm thankful I've been able to capture. Thanks for the effort you put in with your reviews. If I pull the trigger I will try to remember to go through your Amazon Affiliate links. That's the least we can do to reward you for putting the effort you do into your reviews.
Great video. Explain most of the features and compares to the GoPro model which I think is the most important part. We can't have it all..... all models have pros and cons.... I think is a good product to replace all the gadgets we have. Remember that our helmet should be clean as possible in case of collision and all the mounts start making much weight on the helmets.
Hi @@RicardoPifferM! I'd be interested in trying it. It's a cool concept! But from what I've read by others, it's great for snowboarding or other sports where the engine noise and wind noise isn't as big a factor. But for use on a motorcycle, I've heard it's harder to hear above 45mph.
If only it wasnt for that flapping micro usb cover. I have wireless headsets with similar cover from two different brands (beats and some other) and they do not last. Is there a way to fix this? The 10c pro cover looks way way better.
Hi Xtamhor! If you read through my replies to other comments on this video, I have become extremely impressed with the Sena 10c EVO. My initial concerns about the battery door cover have been completely reversed. After repeated use, and multiple long adventure rides such as Mexico (th-cam.com/video/G-Xr-eTdje4/w-d-xo.html), the BRP (th-cam.com/video/VcUjuZA7REE/w-d-xo.html, and the TAT (th-cam.com/video/smHa8HQJjVE/w-d-xo.html), I've had zero problems even after riding through many rain showers. I would highly recommend the 10c EVO to anyone!!! Get yours here to help support the channel: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/35Pmk7d
Pretty impressive, actually. Using just the intercom, it'll last all day. Recording video, it'll last 2 hour solid. On our adventures, we usually start the day with a fill charge, intercoms connected the whole time, recording the interesting bits as we go. When we stop for lunch, the battery is usually getting low. So we simply plug the Sena into either a USB power bank in our jacket pockets, or directly into the USB port on our bikes. You can continue using it just as before, while it slowly charges back up at the same time. By the time we get to our campsite that night, the Sena is fully charged again. Repeat the process the next day, and so on. This system never leaves us with a dead Sena!
Thank you for doing this as there is not many reviews on the 10C Evo. Question: If one just sticks to using "video tagging" (only saving footage when button is pressed) will that increase battery life? Normal life is two hours but will it increase if you are not saving the footage and the camera is still on and "ready"? I ask because there are maybe 10 minutes a day I'd like to save but like to know if camera battery will last doing it this way. thx in advance
Hi there Two_Wheeled_Adventure! I'm sure that would save a little bit on battery life. And I do occasionally ride with "video tagging" on. But honestly, the easiest thing to do is to plug the Sena 10c EVO into a USB port on your bike or a USB battery pack in your jacket pocket. If you plug the device into a power source like this BEFORE you turn it on, than it will continuously re-charge itself even while it's recording. When I'm on a long adventure like the one we're on now (th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html), I wake up and ride the first half of the day without plugging in. The 10c EVO will easily last until lunch using the intercom, radio, and just recording high-light clips as you go. Once we stop for lunch, I plug it into the USB battery I keep on the inside of my jacket pocket and leave it plugged in throughout the afternoon. If my battery pack isn't charged, I'll just plug it into the USB port on my handlebars when we suit up after lunch. Either way, when we arrive at camp, I've been able to use the 10c ALL DAY, and it's fully charged when we arrive at camp. Next day I repeat the process. Works like a charm!
Do they have any profile settings on them? Seems like every video I see with the Evo has a blown out sky and very dark shadows, and dark shadows even where it shouldn’t be shadowy.
Hi TwoAmBlacktop! Thanks for the comment. I didn't find the EVO that way at all. Are you viewing the footage on a nice big calibrated monitor or a little tablet with all the default settings from the factory? I mention that because by default, factories usually send out their devices with high contrast settings and saturation turned up. This helps their displays "stand out" in the stores better. I viewed and edited all the footage from the 10c Pro and 10c EVO, as well as the GoPro Hero 7 Black, on my calibrated monitor. To me, the 10c Pro looked pixelated and grainy, had a high contrast setting, with a color balance that was on the cool side and slightly magenta, and blacks that were without detail and "blocky". These were similar characteristics of the original 10c I had before the Pro came out. But the EVO seemed vastly improved, with much smoother gradations in colors, a beautiful warm color tone that matched the GoPro Hero 7 Black perfectly, better details in the shadows, and less pixelation in the video. Do remember though that this was not a scientific test. Because I was just riding up and down the neighborhood, it's possible the scenes I shot on the EVO happened to have more contrast due to the direction I was riding, or the shift in cloud cover from when I had ridden with the Pro attached. Also remember TH-cam ads their compression to all uploaded videos, which hinders quality. But to me, the EVO was a clear winner in image quality.
Chris Smith I usually watch on a 4K TV or my iPhone 7 Plus, like the majority of TH-cam viewers watch videos. Gopro footage usually looks pretty good unless someone just has no idea what they are doing. It’s not just your video, it’s every single Evo video I’ve watched. I definitely agree that the Pro looked blocky at times, but not horrendously contrasty.
@@TwoAMBlacktop Thanks for your feedback. I haven't had a ton of experience yet with the EVO. Thanks to your feedback, I'll keep a close eye on it during the next video I shoot with it. I've been editing a video from a trip I took down the Blue Ridge Parkway earlier this year, back when I was using the 10c Pro, and the footage from it just doesn't hold up well against the GoPro. It's still a fun video though...lots of great memories! It should go live tonight or tomorrow. I also have a big moto-adventure down to Mexico coming up that I'll be using the new EVO on. So that will be a really good test of the unit!
I always liked that my 10c pro made it obvious I had a camera on my head. It made people more responsible around me since they knew I was recording them.
That's funny! I actually prefer that the EVO doesn't look like a camera since I don't want people to change their behavior. I want them to be themselves! On my recent trip to Mexico, it was great to chat with the toll booth attendants, or gas station workers without them acting weird because they were being recorded. :-)
@@r12rtpilot Thanks for sharing your experience! I recently returned from a 2-week adventure through Mexico. I had a BLAST!!! The Sena 10c EVO did fantastic! And I never had anyone even notice or tell me to stop recording. :-) I've got 25 episodes on TH-cam as I explored that beautiful country if you want to check them out. Here's one of my favorites to get you hooked: th-cam.com/video/s8Av65qL_mY/w-d-xo.html.
I currently have 3 helmets - all equipped with the 10C Pro adheasive mount and the speakers etc. Can I just switch the device without any changes to the helmet?
Hi Dirk! ABSOLUTELY!!! In fact, that's exactly what I did when recording this review. I simply pulled over, popped the 10c Pro off the helmet mount, slipped the 10c EVO in its place, plugged it back up, and off I went. If your old mounts, wiring, and speakers are still going strong, I'd go for it! Once you get the new EVO units and have them all mounted and working properly, take the "new" mounting hardware and headphones that came with the EVO, and put them into the "old" box with the Pro. Then you can sell them as a perfectly functioning kit! I did this and was able to get $250 for my 10c Pro. This makes the upgrade VERY affordable!!! I hope this helps. If you decide to order and are kind and helpful, would you mind ordering from my Amazon Affiliate link? It's at amzn.to/2XAmJ9b. I get a little kickback from them for the referral, which helps cover the cost of putting out these videos. Thanks and ENJOY!!!
The lens tilt mechanism exposed in front of the camera will get smashed bugs. So good luck to clean that juice. A piece of tape is needed to protect this area. Also as mentioned the USB port is exposed to the elements. Unlike the other 10C's. Not to mentioned the 10C series suffer video granularity at speed. I can't even read a license plate two cars away. Not sure if the onboard processor is powerful enough. No go for me especially for this price. I will stick to my original 10C, just good enough to witness road rage, accidents, etc..
Thanks for the feedback, Franck! I enjoyed my original 10c. But I'm liking the 10c EVO even better. I've discovered the USB port cover is actually really good. It's held up great even when riding in the rain like I did on this last day of my trip to Mexico: th-cam.com/video/KOL8PKZKpJo/w-d-xo.html. But of course if the original one is still working for you, that's great...no need to upgrade. :-)
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Hey Chris, thanks for the footage so that riders can get a better look at the video quality. And of course all the technical details. Hopefully i'll receive it in 2020 🙄. Stay safe
Yes you can, Fernando! I do it all the time and it records both. You can also be talking to your riding friends (if they have a headset) and record video at the same time. It records the conversation from both sides!
I have all 3 10c Series devices and I personally like my PRO over the EVO. I think that the wider FOV of the PRO just looks a lot better. Even though the EVO has a smaller FOV it still shows more helmet than the PRO due to it being a shorter camera. You can see it in this video as well. All in all, I guess the EVO really shines at 4K but for a person like me who only wants 1080/60 the PRO is the Camera for me.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures You can minimize helmet intrusion by optimum placement on the helmet. Try using a phone to see what the camera sees when choosing where to mount the 10C Evo (and when you correct the horizon). See Cruiseman's Garage and you'll see much less helmet in the video than what is seen in this review.
Excellent tip, @@mrdonsmith! Unfortunately I have a modular helmet. The "seam" where the chin and main helmet separate limits the mounting positions. But I'll play around with it some more. Thanks!
Great video thank you, I have a older 10C and I am using 128gg cards for a long time, thank am not sure if the info is correct on the size of the cards
Hi David! Thanks for the tip. The information came from the Sena website. But it's good to know you can use a bigger card than they specify. However, someone commented (maybe it was you?) that if you have a larger card than is "officially supported" in the 10c, their software will not allow you to update the firmware. You have to use a smaller Micro SD card in order to update to a newer firmware.
Is there a way to fix the exposure on the 10C evo? It seemed like it was overexposed, and while slightly diminished in quality, the 10C pro white balanced better.
Hi Jean! Thanks for your comment. Are you watching the video on a monitor that has been color calibrated lately? I calibrate my monitor about once a month. On my screen, I found the 10c EVO to be spot on, nice natural color tones, and nice clear exposure (not overexposed). It matched the quality of the GoPro Hero 7 Black almost exactly! By contrast, the 10c Pro has a slightly cooler and slightly more magenta color cast. The image on the 10c Pro is also more pixelated and "blocky", meaning the dark shadow areas loose all detail and go black. I hope this helps. I'm not disputing your opinion. As a professional photographer, I tell students in my workshops all the time that color and exposure are very much subjective. Each person has a unique vision of what they are looking for, and a different preference on how bright or dark a scene should be...within limits of course. :-)
Chris Smith, you have a good point - I was watching on an old laptop that I have not color calibrated, so it could very well be that. I very much appreciate your observations. We lost a Sena 20s Evo to a rainstorm this past summer so contemplating an upgrade too video - but I believe you're spot on with the concern about the charging port location... Ours had Ott on the bottom & still failed after getting wet. 😕
@@jeanerm2478 All the other benefits aside, I think upgrading to the 10c Pro or 10c EVO are worth it for the sole purpose of the "loop video" mode. I turn mine on even if I'm just riding 10 minutes down the highway to the gym. You never know when some distracted driver on their cell phone is going to pull right out in front of you. Maybe you saw that guy do exactly that during my review?!? Had he pulled out 2 seconds later, he would have hit me! Knowing I would have had video footage of him doing so, is totally worth the price for the device. If he'd hit me and then run, I would have had the evidence for the police to arrest him, and my insurance company to go after him. As far as the charging port, I have a friend who keeps a piece of black electrical tape over hers to seal out any moisture. But I have simply stashed a zip-lock bag and a rubber band in my tang bag. If I ever get caught in the rain, I'll just cover my 10c EVO with the bag. Better to be safe than sorry. And that's a very quick and easy solution! :-)
@@MotoPhotoAdventures you seem to have lots of experience as I'm looking for a non bias opinion. I'm looking for a blue tooth connection with great sound and distance. What should I look for brand wise? I'm more concerned about quality. Also do these connect with all sena models?
Hi @@JohnDoe-gc1kt! Thanks for the kind comment. The guys I ride with tell me that Sena and Cardo are the best brands for quality. I only have experience with Sena products. My first was the Sena 10c, which I upgraded to the 10c Pro when it came out, and of course now upgraded to the Sena 10c EVO. I have been nothing but extremely happy with the product, or else I would have switched at one of those upgrades. I don't connect the intercom with my friends very often. (We all like to listen to our own music or enjoy the sound of the wind when we ride.) But on those short tips across town when we wanted to, it was super easy to connect with my friends that were using other Sena devices. I understand you can even connect a Sena with other brands. But it takes a little bit of jumping through some hoops to set it up. With any other Sena, you just hold the pairing button on both units in for 5 seconds. Once in pairing mode, you click the jog dial on either unit one time. And you're connected! I've only ever connected with one buddy at a time. But I understand you can connect up to 4 units at a time this way. As far as quality, I find the sound to be pretty amazing for such a small device! I have a fairly quiet helmet (HJC RPHA MAX). I would suggest the best thing to do for top quality is to make sure you have a well fitted and quiet helmet. Anyway, no product is perfect. But I highly recommend this product. I hope this helps!
This was great thinks for putting this together so brilliantly! I have a Sena Momentum Pro Inc and the camera quality is ok. I prefer the camera quality of the 10c Evo more, to bad the image stabilization is lacking or I would be all over out!
My pleasure, Swintnation! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree the image quality of the 10c EVO is finally up to the high standards set by GoPro. I wish it had stabilizer too. But then again, a GoPro doesn't have an intercom system, an FM radio, or the ability to call home on your bluetooth connected phone. So I'm extremely pleased with the value I got! Highly recommended!!!
Hi There, I am having some issues with the camera, but it may be something I don't now how to use in some areas... 1- The camera records two videos at 4k setting, one is 4k and the other one is a very low resolutions video. Basically it records 2 videos of the same footage, one 4k and one low resolution. 2- The video recorded shows a black fog on the sides left-right I think this must be faulty as I have seen some videos in TH-cam and do not show the black fog on the sides left-right. Can you helps please?
Hi Oliver! I'm so sorry to hear you are having trouble. 1 - YES, the Sena 10c EVO records 2 videos. This is a new feature over previous versions, due to the recently added ability to cache video files to your phone via WiFi/Bluetooth. Being able to preview your videos on the phone is a nice feature. But I agree, having 2 copies of each video when you download the MicroSD card to your computer can be confusing. The nice thing is, they are labeled with an "A" and a "B" at the end of the file names. All you have to do is delete all the "B" files before you begin editing. 2 - I've never seen this black fog you speak of. Unless there is something on your lens, or fog inside the lens, I agree this must be a defect. Hopefully the store you purchased from can issue an exchange for you. I hope this helps!
Great video, but i'm not sure ... 10C Evo has stabilization video or not ? I've never buy 10C Pro because Sena forget stabilization video. Have you an idea for hide helmet on video ? Sorry for my english ...
Bonjour Christophe! Comment ca va? I have found that as long as you're telling a compelling story with great content like this, th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html, any defects or limitations in footage become negligible. It has excellent stabilization, but my new GoPro Hero 8 doesn't have an FM radio, a wireless intercom system, etc. Even though the Sena doesn't have stabilization, it has other features I like very much. So each device has its strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully one of these two companies, or some new startup, will make a new device combining the best of both worlds for us! But until then, we use both to tell our stories. :-)
I totally agree with charging port. Im on the lookout for my first device. The packtalk bold is ip67 certified, has mesh, auto volume but no camera. I really want the camera but don't feel comfortable risking a $600-700 device with no ip67 rating and at this price doesn't have mesh. I'm thinking cardo not having a device with a camera that they will answer sena 10c evo with they're own device and I'm pretty sure that will tick all the boxes.
Hi Andrew! Now that I've had a year of real-world riding, much of it in heavy rain, I've changed my mind on the charging port. It's actually been quite durable and elegant. The cover still snaps int place like it did when new. I ride while charging all the time. And I only take it off in absolute downpours as a precaution. I still think this is by far the best all-in-one device on the market. I wouldn't hesitate to get one!
My biggest problem with my Sena capture device is it only records one person in HD sound and the other person sounds bad. Does this record more than one person in HD sound.
Hi Guys! Thanks for subbing to our channel! I just checked out your channel...LOVE IT!!! You got a new sub from me! :-) The crispness of your videos is impressive...and the lively banter between you is so much fun. To answer your question, the Sena 10c EVO does have a setting where you can tell it to record intercom audio in HD. However, I think the week link is the fact that the other helmet's feed is arriving over wireless transmission. So it's never going to sound as good as the wired mic in your helmet. Luckily, all three of us ride with a Sena 10c, 10c Pro, or 10c EVO. So occasionally Jason will clip the audio from the other person's helmet if we are both recording at the same time. However, to be honest, I kind of like the difference in audio quality because it makes the video seem more organic, more accurate to the reality of riding and chatting on an intercom. I think the viewer feels more like they are "there" with you in your helmet. As long as you can still hear the other person clearly, I wouldn't worry too much about the quality of their audio. Anyway, love your videos. What settings are you using on your GoPro? 1080/60 or 4K/60? It looks awesome!
Yea you make a good point. It does sound more real Its just a shame the technology from sena is not progressing in the right way in my opinion. A new audio capture device and i will be happy. I did a video all about how to get the picture looking that good. Its worth a watch. 😃👍
Hi GreenZX9R! I believe Sena and other intercom brands "can" be connected to each other. You just have to jump through a more lengthy setup system. Don't quote me on that, it's just what I've heard from a couple friends. But obviously if you connect with other riders who use a Sena, it's a lot easier to get them to pair up. :-)
Hi DolphinDog! I wish!!! :-) But no. I purchased the original Sena 10c years ago: th-cam.com/video/qO4UlCwPcC4/w-d-xo.html. I then sold it and used that money to upgrade to the 10c Pro (which I paid full-price for): th-cam.com/video/SnRGDZgZDP4/w-d-xo.html. Eventually I sold that as well, and used the money to upgrade to the 10c EVO. So my reviews are 100% unbiased personal opinions. However, if you have any connections at Sena, I'm certainly open to a partnership as I honestly love their products!!! ;-)
Thanks ! Received this from Sena Tech - May helps others looking at options: “With the Mesh Intercom feature on the 30K, you are able to communicate with a virtually limitless number of people in Public Mode and up to 16 people in Private Mode. The 30K also features the same Bluetooth Intercom feature as the 10C EVO and you are able to talk with up to 3 other people over the intercom. The 30K allows you to talk using the Mesh Intercom feature and listen to music at the same time because of its dual module Bluetooth architecture. The 10C EVO allows you to talk using the Bluetooth Intercom feature and listen to music at the same time but it is not enabled by default like it is with the 30K and you can only talk in a lower quality version of Bluetooth Intercom because the 10C EVO is limited by the single module Bluetooth architecture. “
@@Poshgoondas thanks for sharing this information. I personally don't talk to more than 1 or 2 others when I'm riding. So the limitless communication of mesh isn't a feature I would use. The camera feature is more valuable to me. But I could see why that would appeal to others who ride in large groups.
The usb port is one of my main concerns as well. That's the only thing keeping me from buying it. But knowing Sena, guess I'll wait again for a newer model, could take years though lol.
As a professional photographer, one of my mentors early in my career explained "if you're always waiting for the NEXT camera to come out, you're missing memories and moments that you could have captured TODAY". Something to think about, anyway...
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Don't get me wrong, I'm really interested on buying it, but with a tropical climate country like mine, that usb placement is a no-no for me. The 10C Evo isn't exactly cheap here either. Besides I'm not a professional photographer or a vlogger, I just mainly use my Sena 10C Pro for its dashcam purposes and riding out with some of my friends.
You can buy waterproof/anti-dust rubber stoppers for USB ports for only a few cents. They are designed for phone and laptop ports etc, but they fit just about any USB port. This device should not need them, the placement is certainly a bad design. But I wouldn't be put off buying one for the sake of a 10 cent rubber plug.
Hi Roger! I'm not sure how it would work on a half-helment. I think you could mount it no problem. But I don't know how you would install the speakers and microphone. I do believe Sena makes a "kit" for half-helmets that allows you to mount the speakers. Might need to check their website or contact their support department?
No problem at all. We record our adventures and use the 10cEVO all day long. When the battery gets low, you just plug it into the USB charger on your bike or a small USB battery pack in your jacket pocket. It will charge itself while you continue to use it.
Hi Chris! It's not bad. If you're just listening to tunes and such, it'll last a full day of riding. If you're recording video, it'll do a couple hours. But the BRILLIANT part is, if you connect the 10c EVO to a power source, it will continuously charge WHILE recording!!! So on long trips like this adventure through Mexico th-cam.com/video/s8Av65qL_mY/w-d-xo.html, I carry a small USB power bank in my inner jacket pocket and run a cable up to the headset. Or else I just plug the cigarette-lighter adapter in (I have a cigarette-lighter plug mounted on my handlebars). With either of these options, I can use it all day long to record, take photos, listen to music, etc.
Anyone here that can assist me? Ive bought the Sena 10C Evo today and can't get it to connect to my phone through wifi/camera app. I changed the wifi to 2.4Ghz already to try if that would work other then the 5.0Ghz option. With no succes. I have a Xperia XZ Premium phone. I've connected through my wifi to the sena, entered the correct password, it's connected but everytime i go back to the camera app, it says it's not connected to a camera and i need to re-do the entire setup again. Done it 11 times now and i just put the device back in the box before i smack it into a wall haha :p. Thanks in advance!
Oh no! I'm so sorry you're having difficulty connecting your 10c EVO to your phone. :-( I would try uninstalling/re-installing the app before doing anything else. Maybe something didn't quite load right? It can be a little finicky. But honestly, I've never had any trouble connecting if I just follow all the steps. Try checking out Sena's website for tutorials or call tech support. Sorry I can't be more help since I'm not familiar with this issue. I ride with 3 other guys who all use the same 10c EVO and none of us have any trouble with it. You can see us riding all day talking and recording, often stopping to connect our phones to check out what we've shot: th-cam.com/video/1nMIH2yxRR8/w-d-xo.html. Zero problems. Good luck!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thanks for the advice. I have been following instructions to the letter from on manuals and their websites/videos. Normally once you are connected through wifi in phone settings when you 'go back' you see the app screen again. But in my case it does not, it goes to my main settings screen and then to the home screen (android phone). Calling tech support i have not tried yet, but i'd rather go back to the store where i bought it from and show them there how it does not work (first thing tomorrow morning if it has not changed yet - store was closed today). I'll first do the unistall of the app though, hopefully that'll do the trick. Either way i'll keep you updated. Ride safe!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures yea so uhm... I unistalled the app. And what do you know.. it works now. Weird, but i'm glad. Don't know how it did not work the first time. I gave the app premission to change settings of my phone just like the first time. Oh well. Thanks for the solution ;) ! Ride safe!
Thank you for the insights, pipingmad11. Yes, I love the picture quality from my GoPro7 better, especially with stabilization. But getting audio hookup for the GoPro is a pain! So I like the Sena because it includes the ability to record my voice automatically for moto-vlogging (and many other features). The video can also be stabilized in software during editing if you wish. But I agree, whenever I don't need to record my voice with the video, I use my GoPro.
Hi Fabiano! Now that I've been using the 10c EVO for several months, I actually think it's not as bad as I initially believed it would be. The covers have stayed in excellent shape after repeated use, and still seal quite well. I had a 4-hour ride in cold hard rain 3 days ago. I kept the 10c EVO on and playing music the whole time without any problems at all.
Thank you, Oleg! Yes, I will try 60fr for smother video. I was using 30fr for the comparison because I wanted to compare at highest resolution. Thanks for the excellent advice!
Great review got a new subscriber. I'm starting to review bike equipment as in tires for sport bikes. I have a really good review of pirelli st 4500 miles on a r1 at high speeds and in rain footage I haven't posted it. I also talk about preloading the front ect. before turning PSI weight you name it! The truth! I did professional review that I will post cuz I am a professional rider. The other review I was just looking for a race...
Thanks friend! It was a pain, but nothing crazy. You should check out the one about the GoPro 360 MAX! Now that was nuts!!! I hope you'll like and subscribe. :-)
Hi 2LiveNoob! I totally get it. I wish the Senas had stabilization built in. But they have so many other features (FM radio, intercom system, bluetooth for music and navigation, etc.) that I totally understand why they couldn't fit that in. I did try using software stabilization at one point. But it just takes WAAAY too long to render and process the video (and sometimes it doesn't even work). However, note that in this particular video I wasn't trying to keep my head still. When I'm out recording actual vlogs, if I make an effort not to bob my head around looking at my mirrors and off to the scenery, it's actually a lot smoother and user-watchable than in this little tutorial in which I was concentrating on talking, not so much in recording.
Hi Denny! That would certainly be nice. But then again, at the same price as a new GoPro, you might also say that a GoPro needs to have an intercom system so you can talk to other riders, an FM radio, and a way to call home via bluetooth connection to your phone. ;-) I totally agree it would be awesome if we could have it ALL in one device! But I'm very pleased with how much they did pack into this unit, and have been really enjoying it so far.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures I agree it has quite a bit into a small package, but since I already have a few GoPro cameras and Sena 20S Evo on my helmets, it isn't worth it to switch unless it fulfills all my needs. It is a step in the right direction though. But with GoPro having issues with damaged files, it will be appealing to those who haven't purchased the new GoPro cameras.
@@DennysPlantBasedJourney I totally get it! Who knows, maybe they'll figure out a way to squeeze stabilization into it for the next generation. Or maybe GoPro will expand and come up with a headset built around their fantastic action camera technology! ;-)
Thanks for your feedback, Nick! I'm really sorry you didn't like yours. It does take a little getting used to. But once we figured out all the quirks, we love ours. Check out our most recent adventure video: th-cam.com/video/1VEIR0jVbr0/w-d-xo.html. All three of us have a 10c EVO on our helmet. We love that we can capture our comedic bantering back and forth as we chat over the intercom, capture that classic "helmet camera" angle with the video, and mix that with b-roll from our GoPro cameras to give us something entertaining and fun to watch.
Your video is jerking so much couse you use 30fr per second… better to use 60fr.. I prefer 1080 60fr then 1440 30fr on my 10c pro! Much smoother image! Thank you for video
Please let me know what resolution evo can do and how many fr per second on each resolution? As I see in sena advertising there is exactly same as sena10c pro and Sena 10c evo!
Hi Oleg! You are correct. I have been using 30fps. But perhaps I will try 60fps. I always export at 24fps because I like the look of the more cinematic format. Maybe I'm wrong?
@@MotoPhotoAdventures cinematic is good but when you have a, study picture! On camera 📷 on motorcycle helmet we need some smooth image! Sena need 120fr and good video stab. Try 60fr you will see
Plus GoPros and iPhones don't have a helmet intercom, FM Radio, and a sleek profile when attached to the helmet. They are all great devices. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses. Not one device on the market has everything in one package. But for me personally, the Sena 10c EVO is the best all-around product for moto-vlogging.
Hi Xtamhor! Thanks for all your great comments. After repeated use, and more experience shooting moto-videos, I've come to the conclusion that CONTENT and STORYTELLING is king. Unless you are watching for the specific purpose of finding flaws, you can't help but enjoy a fun video like our latest one, in spite of any technical limitations: th-cam.com/video/e2S-zM16lGs/w-d-xo.html. :-) Having said that, yes I wish the Sena had stabilization. However, even my new GoPro Hero 8 doesn't have an FM radio, an intercom system, etc. So each device has it's strengths and weaknesses. The key is to use all the tools together to tell a great story.
so you said a dozen times you're a professional photographer, and you're reviewing a 4k camera, yet uploading at 1440p. Just how the fuck are we supposed to compare the two?
Hi Gordz! Sorry to disappoint. The review isn't a comparison of the pixels or resolution, but rather the features, the color, and the dynamic range. Even if I did do a 4K comparison, the compression and artifacts that get thrown in by TH-cam when uploading video would make such a comparison hard to evaluate. If you have stringent requirements for shooting 4K, my recommendation would be to download an un-edited original 4K clip and analyze it directly in your editing software. If you can't find a clip online, feel free to let me know how to reach you and I'll be glad to send you one. My contact info is in the show notes. Happy to help any way I can!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Cheers for the response. I run a 32:9 1440p monitor. I don't render to 4k, I crop/resize to 5120x1440. Kills my CPU, but the result looks fucken fantastic from my house. My issue is that you're not showing anyone the resolvable resolution. Sure these online services will fuck with it, but 1440 to 2160 is far too big of a leap for you to dismiss on the grounds of artifacts and compression, in my opinion.. (16 year graphic designer)
Hey criss, here is the Evo c10 Evo at high speeds at night out of the box. As a biker I like it also. th-cam.com/video/_djoR0omF9A/w-d-xo.html any suggestions on the settings let me know. How to get rid of all that wind noise, I also feel like I have to scream but you don't as I noticed. Thanks for the great review. I hate that it can't stream live also.
Hi Kapsol! Thanks for sharing. If you get wind noise, it's because of the position of your mic. Just push it up so that it's tucked in behind the chin guard on your helmet and you'll be fine. We talk at normal levels and have no problem with ours. Cheers!
Hi pipingmad11. Thank you for your insights. Technically, professional photographers never have to worry about audio at all...we capture still images. However, my "professional videographer" friends have indeed explained to me the importance of good audio. That's one reason why I like the Sena 10c EVO. It does use an attached boom microphone to capture audio inside the helmet. And when I'm recording shots of myself on the phone with dialogue, I do try to use either a Rode Videomic ME (small cardoid mic), or a Boya lavaliere mic. For this video, I was using the Rode. (All the equipment I use for my videos is listed in the notes.) Yes, in a perfect world, if recording this video had been a paid assignment, I would have spent more time getting audio, lighting, and other details more dialed in. But I make these videos for fun in my spare time. I'm glad it helps others who might be considering these products. But I still had to make it to the gym and get back home for dinner after recording this. So I cut a few corners to save time. My apologies and I'll try to do better for you on the next one. Enjoy and have keep riding, my friend!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Oleg! I've been VERY happy with the new model. If you decide to order, I'd love it if you could use my Amazon Affiliate link because they give me a small referral fee for sending you: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/2XAmJ9b. :-)
Hi Gerry! Not a dime!!! I bought the original 10c with my own money. I bought the 10c Pro when it came out. And I bought the 10c EVO when it was released. I've used it to document tons of awesome adventures like down through Mexico, across the US on the Trans-America Trail, and around my state on the South Carolina Adventure Route. Check them out on my channel. Ep 42 on the TAT is a good example of how this thing takes a beating and keeps on recording all day long. It's not perfect. But it's a great tool for the job. And that's my honest opinion in the review.
If you don't need the communication or to record your voice, go with the GoPro for sure.
Can you give details regarding real battery life? Can the camera record constantly?
Thanks for the kind comment, Kym! I'm glad you're enjoying your 10C Pro. Have fun out there!!! :-)

Chris Smith Hi, If you keep the camera recording in the loop, how long the battery will last?
Hi @@masculine1967! With just the battery, I guess about an hour or two. But when I do my long trips like this one th-cam.com/video/s8Av65qL_mY/w-d-xo.html, I plug the headset into the USB port on my handlebars, or into a small USB battery pack (like you use for your phone) that I keep in my jacket packet. In this way, you can record ALL DAY if you wish!!! :-)
Chris Smith thank you for your reply and good info... appreciate it
@@masculine1967 my pleasure!
When (if?) Sena puts image stabilization into the unit I will consider it.
You should relook at the flap for the battery cover. You juts have to push the bottom in a bit then push it closed. It seals then. Be Well
Thanks Mark!
Great video thank you! Do you have any idea how to turn off the darn loud beeps? My 10c pro has these ridiculously loud beeps that hurt my ears!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures
Thanks for the info Chris!
Does the EVO come with a kind of dashcam funktion ?
Great and informative video thank you . Nice helmet as well, what model is it?
:-) If you decide to order one, I'd love it if you'd use my Amazon Affiliate links: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/2XAmJ9b

Thanks for the comment, MiddleofMe! I use a modular helmet. It's the HJC RPHA Max with a flip-up front chin guard. It works great on this helmet!
Big thanks from Russia for your review. Good job Chris! I have bought the Evo some days ago. So I hope it will be great and useful device.
Спасибо!!! Thank you for the nice comment. I hope you enjoy your EVO as much as I enjoy mine! :-)
Very detailed review. Thanks. What is the comparison of battery life ?
Nice video! Does the 10C Evo allow video recording AND charging at the same time?
Last question is the Tagging mode I had on the 10C is it still there on the evo? it was a great feature enabling me to keep scenes otherwise I would have missed since while riding you are not always free to start recording on time
Thanks
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thanks :)
interesting video.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Many Thanks Chris for information. Congratulations on the video.
@@lucaromano2316 Happy to help! Cheers!!!
Thank you for the very informative review. Very helpful. FYI at 10:02 you left your indicator on. I think your sat nav may be in the way?
Thanks friend. Trying to record video and remember everything I want to say makes me forget little things occasionally. :-)
Awesome video. How would you say the speakers rank when connected to a music source? Thank you
Great video. Does the app work better with the evo and android phones? I can use the app on my ipad with no issue but not on android.
Hi, what setup was used at 11:27 ?
I think that footage captured by that setup was best overall !
Hi ri34on! I'm glad you liked that shot. That was the very first time I've used it. I dubbed it the Trinity Cam. It's a GoPro attached to a carbon-fiber selfie-stick, which attaches to the rear luggage rack. I'll show that in detail in a future video. Cheers...
@@MotoPhotoAdventures A setup tutorial video will be worth waiting for! Keep it up ! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for the encouragement, @@ri34on . We plan to record that video next weekend! Should be edited and online that following week sometime. :-)
Use 30 fr per second is really bad in any resolution… 60 never less!
Hi tx for the vid afther 4min we know not to Bey this ! Micro USB rubber looks like crap for the Rain ...?
Chris Smith thanks for this info makes iT lots better again to make a buy so for the rest its looks super All in one
You're very welcome, @@mleys55. And yes, the "all-in-one" is why I love this device. Check out this episode in Mexico when it rained on us pretty good...yet I was still able to use it all day long to record the adventure! :-)
Does it work with modular helmets ?
Hi Ben! My other friend in the video, Steve, has a 10c EVO as well...but his helmet isn't modular.
how long the camera can film before the battery is empty ?
My OG Sena 10C can use 128 GB SD just fine. You just cant update firmware with it, got to put a small one in
Hi HiddenMonkey!
Dear Chris,
First of all nice video!!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thank you very much.! (by the way , lovely mexico , far away from Greece to be "moto toured" ) Regards!
I'm debating between the sena evo or the hero pro 🤔.
That's a tough choice, Jon! Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Makes the *road look drunk.*
I have a 120 inch projector and screen at home.
Hi Ricardo! Thanks for the excellent comment. I totally agree!!!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Please, make a video about DOMIO helmet audio. I would appreciate ! thanks!
Really good Video. Thank you from germany & Subscribed
Vielen Dank Alex! I really appreciate the kind comment!!! I hope you enjoy your EVO.
What's the battery life
Pretty impressive, actually.
Ok good to know! Thanks so much!

can u listen to music and record video at the same time with the 10c evo?
That's great, Christopher! To each their own, I say. If the 10c Pro makes you happy, that's awesome!!!
Chris Smith yes that is correct , a small card is the only way to get the updates .
Hi There,
I am having some issues with the camera, but it may be something I don't now how to use in some areas...
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thank you very much
Great video, but i'm not sure ...
PS: Check out some of my Trans-America Trail videos to see the kind of all-day abuse we put these devices through! :-)
Thanks Chris for the update. I will.
It does sound more real
Its just a shame the technology from sena is not progressing in the right way in my opinion. A new audio capture device and i will be happy. I did a video all about how to get the picture looking that good. Its worth a watch. 😃👍
You forgot to mention that you can charge it at the same time as you are filming but you can’t on the old system.
Thanks David! That is correct...I do this all the time. :-)
Does anyone know if the Sena is compatible with other brands.. or only Sena?
Hi GreenZX9R! I believe Sena and other intercom brands "can" be connected to each other. You just have to jump through a more lengthy setup system. Don't quote me on that, it's just what I've heard from a couple friends. But obviously if you connect with other riders who use a Sena, it's a lot easier to get them to pair up. :-)
Did Sena send you the camera to review?
Hi DolphinDog! I wish!!! :-) But no. I purchased the original Sena 10c years ago: th-cam.com/video/qO4UlCwPcC4/w-d-xo.html. I then sold it and used that money to upgrade to the 10c Pro (which I paid full-price for): th-cam.com/video/SnRGDZgZDP4/w-d-xo.html. Eventually I sold that as well, and used the money to upgrade to the 10c EVO. So my reviews are 100% unbiased personal opinions. However, if you have any connections at Sena, I'm certainly open to a partnership as I honestly love their products!!! ;-)
Is it worth looking at replacing Sena 30K with the Sena 10C Evo? Any loss of comms features from 30K to 10C Evo?
Not that I'm aware of. But I'm not familiar with the 30K. I would check the Sena website for feature comparisons between models.
Thanks ! Received this from Sena Tech - May helps others looking at options:
“With the Mesh Intercom feature on the 30K, you are able to communicate with a virtually limitless number of people in Public Mode and up to 16 people in Private Mode.
@@zeroshot7644 I totally understand, my friend! If the 10c Pro is working well for you, just keep using it. I thought it was a very nice setup!
Thanks for the comment,@@punchthedog. Great advice!
How does it work on half helmets, all the videos show it on full helmets
Hi Roger! I'm not sure how it would work on a half-helment. I think you could mount it no problem. But I don't know how you would install the speakers and microphone. I do believe Sena makes a "kit" for half-helmets that allows you to mount the speakers. Might need to check their website or contact their support department?
Battery life?
No problem at all. We record our adventures and use the 10cEVO all day long. When the battery gets low, you just plug it into the USB charger on your bike or a small USB battery pack in your jacket pocket. It will charge itself while you continue to use it.
Sorry if you already answered this, but how was the battery life?
@@MotoPhotoAdventures definitely good to know. Thanks. That might actually change my mind. 🤔👌🏿✌🏿

@@MotoPhotoAdventures thanks for the advice. I have been following instructions to the letter from on manuals and their websites/videos. Gopro 7 is much better. Stabilisation is required. Mounting of the Sena makes for a poor picture.

@@shae7210 same as Pro… Evo have a bit better picture but angle is not so wide.. … still not sure is worst to upgrade or wait for next gen….
The only downside to not upgrading is all the memories that are lost while you wait for the "next big thing". ;-)
Thanks Kapsol! That's awesome...I'll check it out and subscribe back!!!
thank you for making the video
You're very welcome, Bighorn4x4. And thanks for your kind comment!!!
I'm really happy i found this vid. Must've been some crazy editing🤣🥴
Thanks friend! It was a pain, but nothing crazy. You should check out the one about the GoPro 360 MAX! Now that was nuts!!! I hope you'll like and subscribe. :-)
Is there anyway to clean up the video stabilization?? My eyes hurt everytime you turn your head.
@@MotoPhotoAdventures I didn't care for GoPros video stabilization until the 7. So I guess it will take time, if they are even working on it.
it needs image stabilization
Or maybe GoPro will expand and come up with a headset built around their fantastic action camera technology! ;-)
I hate mine :( disappointing for the price
Try 60fr you will see
Thanks for the advice@@olegyd! I am relatively new to video for TH-cam. I will try your recommendations!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures check ✔ my video, I ise 1080 hd 60fr per sec.

No image stablization is a deal breaker. Even iPhones have it.
But 4k? Sena say is still 1440…
Yes, the EVO does 4K at 30fps. I'm not trying to shoot 4K anymore because everyone is just watching on their phone or tablet these days. ;-)
Didnt realise image stabilization means soo much more than the resolution.
Sure these online services will fuck with it, but 1440 to 2160 is far too big of a leap for you to dismiss on the grounds of artifacts and compression, in my opinion..

good vid
Thanks Michael!!! That's very kind of you.
Cheers!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thank you so much Chris! I will move the mic
A "professional photographer" would have used an attached microphone to ensure the sound is consistent.
😎👍🏍🎥
Glad you liked it, Mr Grd!
That what I wait from you!!! 😏😏😏
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Oleg! I've been VERY happy with the new model. If you decide to order, I'd love it if you could use my Amazon Affiliate link because they give me a small referral fee for sending you: Sena 10c EVO - amzn.to/2XAmJ9b. :-)
You're getting paid for this review, aren't you, Chris.
Micro USB in 2020? Massive fail.
Works just fine for me since I have several other devices like the Mavic Pro and Garmin Explorer that take the same plug.
