Same here buddy, I never knew the effects when I was small. I used to listen at 80% to 100% volume and I had damaged speakers that used to make distorted noise. Now I am really scared and I feel as if I have hearing loss. I hope medical field advanced enough to regenerate even the mildest hearing loss

You know that phrase, _"If it's too loud, you're too old"?_ Yeah, that's BS. Ignore that. There is no reason to permanently damage your hearing just to fit into a subculture of society.

If we've taken great care of our ears starting early in childhood, I think 70-year-olds would retain their ability to hear close to 20 kHz based on the loss of 0.3dB of low-frequency hearing per year.
The balloons popping, dropping of weights, loud claps, and sirens that we apparently got used to could mean we've already lost the upper end of our hearing. They can almost instantly cause hearing loss.
I've used a tone generator and only known one person who could hear 20 kHz as a teenager and he easily heard it, while I struggled to hear around 18 or 19 kHz. He's autistic and I'm quite confident that his loud noise avoidance was a significant factor. It makes sense because the hair cells are delicate near the base of the cochlea.
