I don’t know if I can truly put into words right now how much this show means to me. A show I watched in only a week and yet completely captivated me, overwhelmed me, and changed me. It’s incredible in all aspects of technical production but I think what got me most was the characters and how devoted and attached I am to them.
This vid was like a fever dream I made in 24 hours and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever edited in that I really didn’t overthink it, I just put all the things that made me emotional, the moments that made me feel so strongly the power of this show. The show had the same impact on me, it was life-changing. It opened a door in to my innermost psyche that I didn't know I had, and woke it up. Combined with the music, it has been an emotional catharsis for me. The pain, grief depression and hope were portrayed with such razor sharpness I felt it in every cell in my body.
I wish I can relive the time when I saw this show.. I never knew I can feel so deep
Such a shame this show is so unknown. It's probably best show i've ever seen and i've seen a lot shows. But i don't like to compare 3 seasons series with 8 seasons series for example. Anyway acting is just on another level in Leftovers and they should've win a lot of awards for this :/
The leftovers tells a lot about human being. Story is about the leftovers cause it always was, is and going to be. We can’t know about the ones who are gone till we are gone. All we can do is to resist. Trying to resist their absence drives us somewhere, somewhat; this is all I know about human being. We get our shapes while we resist. We are needy, we are hungry, we are desperate and still alive fortunately and unfortunately. This show made me face that we will never know what happened to those who left. It showed me how we all find different ways to ease the pain even a little. The feeling of there being nothing left but us, lament… We lose. This was a perfect way of telling an ancient story.

STOP IT. STOP IT RIGHT NOW. First, so happy you "get" this show. I talked with a bunch of people who don't understand the metaphors and subtle things that happened. Damon Lindelof said during an exit interview that this show at the heart of its core was a "love story" and he was so right! Also... Patty said it in the first season that "all we really need is purpose" ... "a reason to exist" and basically this show was all of that. Each one of them needed a reason to keep going forward and exist in this new world and in the end it was about love. :) Speaking of love .... LOVED THIS. You got all the right moments. A++++ I hope you make more in the future.

I would never toned down this masterpiece to a love story. On the contrary, it is a story about love. In all it's forms. And so it's in the end a story about lost and hope. It is not about why someone's or how many are gone it's about how the ones that are left can move on. What they come up with to cope. It's about life in essence, what it comes down to and what can save us, from dissolving in tiny pieces.
Every lost brings as pain and grief, no matter is it a part of 2% gone in an instant or is it mind absent Marry or is it something else, bigger or smaller. In the end hope is the only thing that can keep us sane and make us go on, and hope only comes from true love. So we should always give love to everyone we can and hope someone will give it to us.
I love the doves landing down in final scene. I think it's one of my favorite scenes of all time.
They spread all that hope around the world by Nora's letters. And came down bringing such a peace in all that light. Pure picture of how love (and hope) looks like. The force that keeps life alive.
Such a poetry on the screen.
It's about loss and love and how futile we all are.
Seasons 1&2 had everything,so many powerful scenes&touched on so many themes,grief,loss,letting go,anger,religion both power of it&Cult of it,there were so many genuinely unsettling scenes too,but what stops this from becoming great tv&up there with the best is a poor Season 3 in Australia,it loses its way,with strange character arcs,only salvaged by a moving ending.

I'm alone litteraly, i realized that most of the people who were surrounding me aren't the ones i thought they were..most of them left, I've changed the city where i lived to start all over again. I kinda closed myself since. This video somehow softens my heart...i wish I could meet beautiful people, empathic the way i am so i won't feel sad or lonely no more...

so i've come to the conclusion i may never get to watch this show therefore here i am, watching the vids for it that I have had saved.
This is so different from your usual style and yet, you of course, nail it, as if its all you know! I feel like you really just put your emotions and feelings into this and just made a video that was more about the feelings and emotions of the show rather than the actual story of it??? And those feelings are ... SAD!

We'll never know will we? My hunch, he wished for his life back. His family. Jill, Tommy, Laurie, his Dad, Nora. He wanted to go back before the chaos. If that's what he wished for, he got it at the end of season 2. Though it was fleeting.
@@jjones9916 I think he just wished for his family to be together again. It probably didn't manifest exactly in the way he intended (or maybe it did), as Nora and Jill were both dear to him.
