Totally agree with you on the EWG landing percentage. Seth Feider one of if not the best shallow water guys on the Elite uses EWG when pitching as well. Only goes to straight shank when he’s right on top of em.

I’ve fished there a few times and gotten a few big ones early and the bite seemed to turn off after mid morning. I’ve punched but only 3-5 feet in. Are you saying I should be going way further in with the punch? I’m fairly new to fishing. Thanks! 🙏

Yes, punch like 20 feet back... You may not land all of them, but there's big ones back there.
