Thank you. It was a fun day to get out on the banks and do some fishing. It was just as fun editing footage in order to put the video together.
I will be posting a couple of reels on my ThatsAPrettyGoodFish Facebook page and my Instagram page as well!
I am glad you liked the latest video and thanks for the positive comment!

    Hey Ed,
This is what I found out about bass swimming back to the spot where they were caught.....
Bass have a homing instinct, so when released, they often swim back to familiar areas if the conditions are suitable. However, it's not always guaranteed they'll return to the exact same spot where they were caught, as they may explore nearby locations or follow their natural instincts based on factors like water currents and food availability. Their behavior can vary depending on the individual fish and the specific circumstances.

So much good content in this one! First solid tree catch of the year and that sucker was hooked so well! The creation of the new super hero Frog Guy was in this episode. After official CSI investigations it has been determined that there were indeed over a dozen catches but it was the same 4 fish :) Got a question... you pull in fish from all the way on the other side of the river...I wonder when you put them back in the water if they go back to where they were or just meander around that area? Do fish in river have some sort of homing orienteering system?

      Ed,
It was a fun day of fishing and a fun video to put together! So glad that I was able to get out. The Frog Guy thing was funny.... very unintentional as I had not even planned on using a frog lure (mostly because I toss out three or four casts, have zero luck and move on to something else), but the fish were really hitting top water lures so I figured I would stick with it.
Normally I try to put fish back close to where they came from when they are close to the bank I am on. As far as them having a honing device in their brains to get back to the other side of the waterway, I am not sure. Maybe males would as they normally guard the frye. I have a feeling they may just find a spot that has what they need, plants, oxygenated water, cover, and stay there. When they find another spot that can have all of those boxes checked off, they stay around there. Good question though. I will try to do some research on that.
