Zanac actually impressed Ainz so much that he was starting to second guess the plan and thought about just withdrawing... then these mopes merc the King and deliver his head. Man, Ainz was calm on the outside but utterly livid internally.
Most people underestimate Ainz, thinking that Albedo and Demiurg do everything. But he is kinda makes Genius moves and speaks like genius King, and acts also accordingly. He is truly wise, Damn
That’s something I really like about Ainz as a character. Is he as smart as most people think he is? No. But he’s not an idiot or incompetent. He’s very intelligent and very strategic, which makes him compelling, but the people around him majorly overestimate him, which is comedic 😂
@3redstreeter256 overestimate? How? If you read LN, you will understand every move he makes, isn't stupid. I know that most thing being by plan of Albedo and Demiurg, but Ainz moves make thier plan more fluent. He is underestimated not overestimated.

The thing is, he thinks of simple yet effective plans but his subordinates exaggerate it and make it complicated that it looks like Ainz is 100 steps ahead of everybody
And he just went along with it cause it works
Ainz did not start as a good King, he reads books about how to be a good ruler and good leadership every night since he saved carne village. He is learning and seeing both the good and bad, these experiences along with him not being swept up in his emotions due to his racial trait, makes him a sensible and responsible ruler
Zanac is trully a Noble King worthy of the bloodline of Among Royalties sadly he died on the hands of the people he wished to defend which is why Ainz was extremely pissed.

Only wish we could have heard the part where Zanac is riding back to his camp and he talks about being a "bad king" but he's honestly the best one they could have had considering the rest of the family
His father was such a bad ruler. If Zanac had taken over the kingdom a bit earlier, none of these would've happened. He really was a worthy king who never got the opportunity
