My mother taught me how to make cowboy coffee, and her dad, a WW1 combat veteran (France) taught her. I had to stop drinking coffee about 10 years ago due to heart issues, even decaf gives me arrythmia, I drink herbal teas now, but when camping I always drank cowboy coffee, boiled it, cold water to settle grounds. Really hits the spot in the early morning when waking up in the woods! Miss your videos!
Appreciate y'all spotlighting our titanium kettle, canteen, and bottle in your video, Søren. Looks like y'all brewed up some mighty fine cowboy coffee, reckon it's got me hankerin' to give it a shot too.
Thanks Soren👍👍 Cowboy coffee is my favorite process, boil twice then add cold water to settle the grounds. May be other ways but for taste there's no other way that comes close for me. The newer Ninja coffee machines are pretty good tbh, so many options from one machine. Good to see you and Musen out and about. Enjoy!
Interesting solutions to grounds in your mouth Old Boy! A French Press comes to mind :) But however you make it, the first cup is always the best cup in the morning. Cheers from Upstate NY USA
great video friend! brought back memeories i use cold water method but will try some of other ways you mentioned good to see you and effie back take care looking forward to more.
Don, always great to get another video. Glad to see you are doing well. The centrifugal option, I think I might like this one since I could get some exercise at the same time....Perhaps you are on your way to making your channel a cooking channel! Lol!
In old times people in sweden dried fish skin over the stove. They cut little patches called "Klarskinn" they put in the pot to make the coffe clear. Been thinking to try it with perch just out of curiosity. No way Im putting pike in there🤢. Super nice vid Don and as always inspiring creative shooting!
There is even another way to settle the ground coffee in the bottom... We use it here in Portugal and Spain when hunting... Boil it to your liking then, grab a medium size amber from your fire and drop it in the boiled coffee. Wait 2 to 3 minutes, take out the piece of coal, put in a pinch of sea salt and the ya go... 😊😊👍👍
I have heard of the amber, but have never tried, I think I should give it a go. Thanks. I have used the salt trick. it works with everything bitter, I was surprised when I tried it on a grapefruit. :)
What a nice and informative video. Always learn something. I have to say I would probably prefer the mild and round. The other looks/sounds like it would put hair on my chest🤣. Thank you for the video.
A splash of Irish whiskey! The grounds might not settle but you won't care. Absolutely necessary when out in the woods with 12 year Olds. And yes thin coffee is a waste of time.
Thank you for the lesson. I like the cold water method as well. I pour it slowly from about 2 feet. (.6 meters). I'll try it your method. Tak for lektionen. Jeg kan også godt lide koldtvandsmetoden. Jeg hælder det langsomt fra omkring 2 fod. (0,6 meter). Jeg vil prøve din metode.
Good to see you out again my friend. I turned 80 last year, still hanging in there! 🤠
Thanks Tom. ...keep going :)

Yep, you nailed it. That’s how I do coffee when canoeing and camping. I find a good shot of baileys helps

Cool Sehun, your activities in the forest are so overpowering. Like playing in your own yard😊

Great video! I am multigenerational ranching family in SW US. We gave up boiling coffee when they came out with percolating coffee pots! 😆

Lars Monsen seems to blend coffee and fish as well. :D Not sure it would be a favourite of mine. Thanks my friend. :)
Bottoms up my friend ! Enjoy your day Søren
Thanks for the video. Making it easy and tasty without a costly machine.

Thanks Ann :) The double boil is my favourite, it only gets bitter if it boils for a longer period. Try both. :)
Gooood ❤morning
