incredible how she hasnt lost her voice
lmao.. actually i am editing this comentary : 3:25 . i will edit it again ok she lost her voice its obvious but she still sings like a pro
Well, she did have to go to surgery for her vocals. It was during the Biophilia era, probably in 2011. Besides that, she's going very strong!
@Kia I've so much respect for you for watching this great performance while being deaf
I love that she still does her little cute dances
I can't put into words how grateful I am that I found Björks music
I love how polarizing this video is. Some people saying this is the work of a genius, some people saying this is terrible.
I think I'm the first to say I don't get it, but I don't think it's terrible, it's some combination of just not my taste and my ignorance of music. I mean I can not like it and it's not bad, it can still be quite good. I think society is in big trouble because we are less willing to make that sort of concession.
Have you seen snobs look at are work like there's something to it?man this isn't music lol. This is utter nonsense. This is just noise.
Bjork has merged with nature. Whether you like or not, she doesn't care.....
She's an artist who only express her artistry to please herself, not others....
that freaking growl !!! it is my first time to hear her do that since vulnicura. she still got that. god. love ya.
Jostin Peen I don't think it's vulnicura it's from gling glo and post and sugarcubes
@@sparklemouseproductions4286 She growls almost imperceptibly toward the end of Mouth Mantra on Vulnicura
@@sparklemouseproductions4286 yeah, she did it all the time back then, what's noticeable is that she hasn't so much since Vulnicura.
The greatest artist of our generation
I don't understand why people don't get Courtship. It has one ir the best lyrics on the whole album, it has a lot of great vocal melodies, it has this unique percussion, and is the most uptempo song from Utopia, is the Quicksand from this era. Is easily one of my favorite björk songs and i can't get why you hate it so much. I know you might be expecting a performance of one of the singles or Losss, Sue me, etc... but it seems like Courtship is aslo one of björk favorites. So guys, give it a chance, it's a grower.
i totally agree! i found myself playing courtship and arisen my senses on repeat... definitely one of the more "mainstream ish" instrumentals.
I also think Losss is the best song on the album, it actually has a beautiful melody and (unlike Blissing Me) even a chorus (!) - plus the beats are awesome, especially in the fantastic outro.
This artist certainly marches (or dances or hops or whatever) to the beat of her own drum. A multi dimensional artist, constantly growing and evolving. You don't have to love her work, or even fully understand it; but you cannot deny it. She exudes talent.
talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before
I love how this song is about dating, but still has this sweet melancholy of thinking of past loves. Much love and respect to Björk for being as brave as ever!
OH MY GOD. BLESS MY SOUL!
Nugrahaning Anindita if u like bjork you might like this artist. Laura Mulcahy from Ireland th-cam.com/video/lZRdOXdDJvQ/w-d-xo.html
Her voice sounds great and so stronger!
“My snakeskin glows in the dark” is genuinely one of the poppiest moments in the whole album. Kinda wish the song leaned harder on that bit, but alas. It's still nice.
Wow she REALLY DID THAT....Iconic performance. Love u bjork.
Dude this is crazy out of this world GOOD!! holy crap she is out of this world with her music writing
Glad to see her shinning again. Beautiful performance, i want more.
He turned me down
I then downturned another
Who then downturned her
The paralyzing juice of rejection
His veins full of lead
He's left with loving what he lost
More than what he has
My snakeskin
Cold in the dark
But warms up in the light
I then upturned
A green eyed giant
Who upturned and entered me
Will we stop seeing what unites us
But only what differs?
The ghosts of old loves
Hovering around his orifices, his orifices
As you narrate
Your own heart-tale
You thread souls into one beam
The love you gave
And have been given
Weave into your own dream
I trust my cells to re-archive
My love historic stream
The Sound and the poetry behind this song is otherworldly
as someone who grew up in the concert band/wind ensemble world...I totally understand. This song has been stuck in my head for the past week. Love Bjork ❤️
This is absolutely beautiful and full of fresh energy. The growth of bjork’s artistry is ever robust. I’m in awe
I think it's time to acknowledge the greatest performer of our generation. She writes her own music and actually sings live.
PNEUMONIA this sounds a jazz improve with musicians who just started playing
Have you ever heard the phrase, If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all ?
PNEUMONIA what are you? Five? Welcome to the internet where you can't cover your ears and block out people's opinions..
Mama's still got it. A collab with a legend like her and an under-appreciated artist like Sevdaliza would be heavenly
As beautiful as Utopia is, it's also dense, alienating and eager to break free from the pop song format (no chorus, no hook, freeform structure). The visual component is also getting more and more important (the masks, outfit, set dressing). It's obviously gonna piss off many of her older fans. I like it, but albums like Vespertine and Medúlla are still her best works for me.
I still think it's very much a pop album, you just have to learn to listen to it a little differently.
I don't feel anything is pop about this . . . if anything I feel like songs like " Hyperballad " and " Joga " which are some of my favorites are closer to pop and are far easier to listen to. I listen to them regularly and have since I was a kid, but I can't get into Utopia that much. ( I love segments, but entire songs? Not so much. )
I respect it though and love the visuals. But has Bjork not always been a visual artist as well?
fuck vulnicura really hit home for me because for example "black lake" focused on love's unraveling and undoing and i could really, like reaaaally feel her emotion through the whole song/experience. i genuinely cried through half the album. that's what i always liked about björk, even with utopia, she somehow pitch-perfectly puts emotion into a melody and it sort of sends me on a journey everytime i listen to her. So utopia really did it for me too, especially "body memory". idk i'm just weird that way. i grew up with her music (23 now) and i always appreciated that her music is just straight up out of this world and has such a variety in sounds. Homogenic is my favorite album though cause ughs, hunter is just such a gem. oh man i rambled for way too long, sorry, none of the people around me speak björkish, so i had to let it out here ahahah
The thing is the record label is only a tool and a medium for her to use as a platform for her artworks. Which is what the "albums" are. But I think if we were free from convention a lot more people would be open to this as art rather than music and entertainment.
BEAUTIFUL. Love the theatricality of it all.
Björk if you’re reading this, keep doing you! don’t let these hate comments push you away from your path. you’re still making magic and this performance is a work of art displaying the insanity of reality itself. love you forever! you challenge us all to be more open-minded with each release! i thank you for the challenges and rewards that came with Utopia! 🌟🌿👼🏻
3:15... Her eyessssss!!
I hardly ever listen to Bjork anymore... I feel like I outgrew those heart strings that she pulls on. But her voice will always be special in my heart... I'm forever grateful to her for being a huge part of my life in the past. Maybe i'll even start listening to her again.
Why does nobody ever talk about this song? Possibly one of the best in her discography
Wondrous like never before.
"My snakeskin, cold in the dark
But warms up in the light"
Damn, she's restored her voiced to where it was during the Post and Homogenic era.
Love seen Bjork on scene again... long and happy life for her. She changed the music paradigm.
I'm surprised a lot of Bjork fans don't 'get' the Utopia era. If you expand more into the avant-garde and experimental world you'll see how this fits in.
one of the exciting things about Björk’s new music when released is that it’s challenging in its own way. there’s much weirder and more complex music out there that is somehow more accessible, but for some reason Björk’s music is some of the most challenging despite it having accessible qualities within. that’s why i love her and i don’t give up on her music after the first listen of a new release. she’s meant to open all of us to more possibilities and to serve as a mirror to our own selves. she’s brilliant. how could anyone that truly loves art ever not like her??
It’s not that we don’t get it, it’s that it isn’t pleasurable to listen to. If something doesn’t sound good, why are you listening to it other than for intellectual masturbation and to say that you "get" it? It’s obnoxious and pretentious. Her previous music was intellectual but didn’t suck ass sonically.
She always make innovation every album, every album is iconic...
this must be the weirdest set in Jools Hollland's history
humans are soo detached from nature that has became weird... :( I dont find anything weird!
Gosh, it's only greenery. Who cares, it's her voice and music that's important.
@@saltalgilmour9745 So very important! , every thing she does and writes is a response to life, exploration of awareness, growth and LOVE. .
She ages beautifully ❤️
I will never tire of seeing Bjork push the envelope, but musically I have to admit that I do her very first appearance on Jools Holland when she performed "Hyperballad"
Omg I love her soooooo much long live Bjork the most intelligent artist to hit the music scene! Keep it coming mama!
Real art will not please everyone. If it does it's not art, it's bound to the constraints of commercialism. Not to sound elitist. You can sit and pick apart what you don't like about it and how you think it fails but truth is, Bjork has always delivered emotional, honest and thought provoking work which is real art. How she chooses to express herself as an artist is fascinating to me. And I don't think her work is self-indulgent. Certain parts of it you may not listen to every day but it weaves a beautiful, rapturous tale. Personally, I like putting these albums on when I'm studying or reading.
As a long time fan of Bjork, I have always admired her ability to be completely experimental without worry. I like that freedom about her. Some musical growth periods of hers, have been amazing and I really loved them. Some however, have been a little jarring and overly complicated (like this piece). But regardless of what I think, I'm still giving her a thumbs up because of her utter uniqueness. This kind of art is rare.
I love this Song, i love this women and your Music!!!
i love that she has a similar headpiece that she wore in notget's music video. the pearl covering the eyes.
i really love her so much, she's a part of me
omfg 😍this is so unexpected and so so so brilliant
She is absolutely the Queen of Music ♥ I love you Björk and thank you for being one of my inspirations in life ♥
Good evening to all! I ve read many comments some good some bad and I respect all of your opinions! but I want to point out that Bjork never repeat herself..and she is a true artist never scared to "fail" in what she does cause she does it "openchested" and this should be respected anyway... I see you all are die hard fans of her compared to me that I am the new kid on the block and I say that because an artist is in the end a human being like all of us but with the gift to "speak" about him/her self through art with highs and lows happiness and sadness its all in their work... have a goodevening you all, bless..
she's so dementially gorgeous, i love her, thank god for make me her contemporary.... god bless her and her art.
Weird and wonderful Bjork. I love how the flutes sort of make noises that are in the middle of happy and sad, goes really well with the lyrics of being confused when shit like that happens. Wicked.
Explendida interpretación, para las personas que dicen no sentir esta era de utopía, lo siento. La melancolía ya quedó atras ahora es tiempo de amar y ser amados de forma bonita, sin emociones tóxicas. Saludos.
Blork does it again - a melange of art and musical performance in her wonderful inimitable style.
The lyrics can certainly pierce through hearts.
❤💞❤
El escenario, el vestuario y la interpretación de la reina Björk son hermosos
Shaggy, this isn't weed...
Very unique!!! Talented, gifted, real artist!! Bravo Bjork!!!!
Thank you for the delightful journey to planet Björk.

I love how she is seeking making good music not just to get famous Like others, really love her creativity😍👏👏👏👏
This is so aesthetically pleasing, I wanna live there
Welcome back, Björk. Can't wait for the release of a live version of Utopia, and I'd love it to sound just like this.

Bjork is so unique and definitely out of this world!!
Weirder than she ever was
Björk is incredible. "Utopia" is the Album of the Year. If you have any Grammy voters reading this, please listen carefully.
Hi im a grammy voter and I was unaware of this bjork person until just now - she can thank you later because your comment alone has just won her album of the year at the grammys
I am. I'll make sure to mention you to her when I present the award at the ceremony.
I will never ever tire of the beautiful, unique Angel of Iceland 🇮🇸 from one island to another 🇮🇪

I love this song! So glad she chose it
What a wonderful and engaging artist.
Thank you Björk. ❤️
Wish she sang Arisen my senses to.show of the album, but great presentation!
Fantastic song by a fantastic Artist. Pure art :)
Omg I love you bjork !!!! Giving my chills as usual !!

Blimey!! This was just perfection!!!
Literally the only song that didn’t grow on me in this whole album ... GIMME LOSSSS
thank you guys for my increasing depression good job! that is the "right path" to solve things!
omg i didn’t know björk played flute! i play flute too :) another reason to love her and this album!!
She released her first album when I was a teenager, I spent 20 years collecting everything she ever did, then on a rare occasion I had the whole collection in my car and they stole my car! they gutted it, took everything, I got the car back and the insurance company paid for a brand-new stereo, but I lost an irreplaceable collection that those thieves would’ve just thrown away or is possibly sitting in their mothers bookshelf at home or sold for five dollars at an op shop or buried in the landfill. It was nearly 6 years ago and I still feel the pain
That must have been terrible 😓 i hope you can get some new records maybe
Omg , I've just recently discovered this divine talent and I can only imagine the pain you felt , sorry! That must be terrible. Hope you managed to restart the collection.
