it's sick seeing a pro skater with a youtube channel like the influencers. But none of those influencers have your style so ur channel definitely stands out.
@@icepick859 For sure Tom's skate career far surpasses everything that influencer skaters did on their board (which is why he's pro and they aren't) but i must say that watching Tom casually skate skateparks on youtube doesn't look THAT different from watching some influencers skate their skateparks; some of those influencers are at a decent skill level and some of them can do some advanced shit. The difference in this case is the better style that Tom has.
@@RobertSalazardarkparadise for sure. I know his youtube skatepark sessions are just casual skating for him. Tom's always been tech, gnar, AND tech-gnar.
Still blows my mind how I'm drinking my coffee on a Saturday morning watching a casual youtube video of Tom Asta freaking kickflip front crooking a handrail. This is amazing and we are so grateful
Man... so good. I love the access you give us to this level of skating. Amazing. The wind is there but just slightly considering how windy it is, thanks dude.
Homie, tip for this time of year: "Telescopic SqueeGee". $30. It's a large push-broom style squeegee to dry those ledges (and other puddles) in 10 seconds. It easily fits into your backpack or you can toss it in the back of the car.
Loving the channel bro!! Sick to see these little sessions and hear what’s going on in your head during the process of a trick. Keep doin your thing, you’re killing it
You’re the last guy I thought would make a channel like this. Just cause you were always under the radar. But man I’m glad you came out more publicly. I’m 40 and don’t skate on the regular much anymore but I still follow it all. One new sub from Winnipeg
I'm from Pottstown PA.. we go to Langhorne often. Quakertown and Ambler outdoor parks are great, same with the royersford mod park. Love seeing a semi local skater make it
making the on lock series like you just described actually makes more sense than if you showes us what you have on lock. The most valuable part of these videos is when you're telling us how you figure it out, and what exactly you think of when you do them. I really appreciate the videos and your work! and also have to mention it that it is great you talk to us even though you are alone. It really keeps me away the negative thoughts when I am out skating. You help me learning to stay positive while working for a trick! Thanks, man! last but not least I would love to see you figuring out tricks you have never done or get over the fear of some you know you are scared of
THANK YOU! im also glad i can help you on your sessions ! i think that idea is great as well ill have to think of tricks that work for that type of video! i appreciate the feedback !
Watching someone as skilled as Tom just warm up at the park gets me hyped to go skate. His style just makes everything look so smooth and effortless, it has me just wanting to try everything
crazy knowing how much time these pros spend mastering tricks and keeping them. keeping a trick is usually easier than learning but it is real easy to forget lol
This video is awesome, and its great to see a professional skater that does tricks he has to work for, it gives a more familiar feel as we all have tricks we love, but also have to put in the work to do as well. In a way, makes me feel like a part of the session. A video series idea: tricks that got away from you when filming past video parts/projects. Not needing to say where you tried it (unless you want to), but trying the trick again on something similar at the park to get another shot at making it, especially if still wanting to go back and get it. Second idea (creates more variety): you create a community post where your subs get to pick the obstacle you skate (ledge, manual pad, rail, quarter pipe, drop, stairs, etc) and the grind/slide/flip trick (noseslide, 5-0, feeble, crooked, etc. but also if its front side or backside), and from there, you have to incorporate all 4 stances, and all 4 types of "flips" (if ledges/rails chosen: meaning if they pick the ledge and a bs crook, you gotta go all four stances, and within those stances you gotta kickflip, heelflip, pop shov, and front side shov into/out of them, nothing is repeated. And into/out of the trick should be specified as well). That way it can give you a fun challenge and maybe have you try something new along the way! Just a thought. Good luck with your channel growing, hopefully itll blow up as the year goes on and ill be looking forward to more content!
Hahaha when you landed that I couldn't even hold back that Woohooooo Got Damn boi Rick flair voice. The one on the ledge to man. Theres these ledges Jake Johnson skate in a brick harbor video. 4 benchs
I enjoyed this video a LOT. Keep doing these! Its crazy how comfortable you bail out everytime you dont lock in, lot to learn from those. My biggest priority this year is getting more comfortable doing grinds on rails, and its so intimidating when you dont have your board where its supposed to be when putting your feet on a round rail.
As someone that got my first board at 20 and can just about land a pop-shove 3 years later, seeing how difficult a trick is on a handrail compared to on flat is crazy.
it would be nice to have a tribute / memories section. where you can talk about your influences or may be bring back something special or just thanks someone you think deserve it. That Flip front K was hoooot ! nice video !❤
impressive, as always! You're such a beast Asta, I always look forward to watching your uploads and hearing your thought processes for each trick :D it's so surreal seeing someone make videos all casual-like just like an average youtuber but at the same time, display such a high skill level. Would love to see possibly a game of skate with some of your homies in the future!
Its just so good to hear these tipps from a pro. like learning how to bail correctly and getting comfy with it. In all these tutorials you dont even know what learnig to bail means. But with your reference i´ll know what that really means because you´re like learning by doing :D
Thanks for your videos Tom I'd like to see you do this style of video but learn a new trick. Whatever though you videos take us the viewer (to old and broken to skate anymore) on the journey with you cheers bruva stay rad.
Love the channel Tom, very enjoyable content and refreshing seeing into a pros daily life. Every on lock video you should mention one of your fav skaters that does the same trick-that has stuck out to you over the years-almost like an honorable mention. Idk every time I watch these videos I think of what skater/video part also has these tricks on lock.
Loving the vids as always (well, since you started the channel at least). Rails are scary, and down rails moreso - nice job battling that one out. An idea: how about some tricks down a gap/stair set? Nothing too huge, but what tricks would be your go to, and what we be a challenge but doable?
Tom, you’re sick man. I don’t skate anymore, but I still reminisce the process and have enjoyed thoroughly how much you go into detail about yours. This type of content is inspiring, even for things that are outside of skateboarding. Keep it up.
you should do a kick flip trick tip, you have a nice flick! i’ve been skating for 10 years and am more of a heelflipper and have never been super comfortable with them. I have them but they’re always mobbed out.
I’m loving the hussle on TH-cam! Any time you drop a vid I watch it instantly! Keep up the great work! And it’s sick asf to see Es brought back the og koston shoe. What’s it called now?
Love the channel, man, it's just one thing (and it's not a knock but just a lil recommendation)... it'd be cool if you put these series into playlists while they still just got only a few episodes so that they're easy for someone who stumbles upon the channel in the future to browse through.

thanks for the tips throughout Tom, great video! and a rail video with your thoughts and ideas can be nice!

I can’t get enough of these
Have to agree, hubba is the way to go with this trick, then handrail, flat stuff is the hardest I think.

Rail kf crook was raw 🤙🏼
I still think you can smash a hardflip back tail, that would be a sick video to watch. As always though loved the video!
MAYBE ! haha hardflips man smh haha THANKS for watching man !
