Hey everyone. This video is a general overview of the entire process of making an animated short film. If some parts were left unclear, or if you have any questions in general, you are more than welcome to ask here in the comments :)

Pulp Anime, you are freakin amazing and inspiring! Keep up the great work! I thought creating my own animation was out of reach. I am very happy about being wrong in this line of thinking! Thank you for inspiration!
@@PULPANIME Is it cool if I ask for your opinion/help when we try creating our own anime next year? I don't mind paying for your time/expertise. Do you have a Discord group for creating anime by any chance?
@audiobookgirl I don't have a PULP ANIME discord group, but you're welcome to email me (pulp.anime@protonmail.com) your ideas, and I can give you my two cents on them. I'd be more than happy to help you with your project! If you'll find what I have to say helpful, you can say thanks by buying me a coffee on my ko-fi page (I'm planning on opening it in the next few months) 😊 I'm considering opening up paid consultation sessions in the future, just need to figure out how to go about it. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in!
Bro, tip using Leonardo for your animatic. Generate then screen shot the image then save to your computer, so you don't have to use your credits. Its like unlimited credit.
That's a grate idea! but I've actually noticed that if I'm just downloading the images in their low quality versions (without clicking the Refine button) I can generate an unlimited amount of images without losing any credits! which is perfect for storyboarding, because you really need the ability to experiment with that and the low quality doesn't matter. If they'll ever decide to change their credit system, and start charging credits for the low quality downloads, I'll defiantly use the screenshot method that you've suggested :)
Agreed! We're all hoping he succeeds as we're really interested in seeing his works be it short films, full on animated series or even featured length animated films! We're especially looking forward to the rest of Team RELM and really hoping that the latter becomes a full series!
@seeyoumotivated Thank you! Well, the beard was actually really simple. I just chose to add a beard to the character in the Make avatar app. But it didn't have a moustache and was too short. So I painted a moustache on the face texture of my character, and then I downloaded a beard object that I've attached on top of the pre-existing beard via VRM parts adder. Then, I just imported my model to Blender with a VRM add-on and fired the texture and added black outlines with the help of the VRM add-on. I know it sounds like a lot, but it's more or less the same process that I showed you in this tutorial. Only a slight variation in the texture painting process and different objects that I've attached to the base model :)
So happy, you're back !!! Pleazzz I need help, XR Animator doesn't match with MacOS... Do you know an alternative to use a Mixamo animation on VRM Posing Desktop ??
Thank you! I actually can think of something, but you'll need to buy the full version of DSS for it. You can use a web version of XR Animator to convert the mixamo animations to VMD files, then import them to DSS and activate the VMC protocol from there (unfortunately the web version of xr animator does not have the VMC protocol function, and this is why you'll need a different software like DSS) Here is the link to the web version of XR Animator sao.animetheme.com/XR_Animator.html I hope that helps :)
@AnimatedMovies-mv1qo Yeah, I know the feeling. It is something I haven't entirely figured out myself yet. For this short film, I actually used 2d images as backgrounds but imported them as a 3d plain into VRM Posing desktop. I don't think it's ideal for every shot, but it did work pretty well for this film. I also like importing 360 images as backgrounds, and I'm thinking about making a new tutorial about capturing 360 backgrounds from VRchat and Gmod. Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in :)
@@AnimatedMovies-mv1qo No. unfortunately not. however, If you do want to start out with a free alternative, I do recommend checking out the free version of DSS
yeah, for this short film I've only used VRM posing desktop. and you can animate very simple camera movements with it, but for the shot that you're referring to, I've actually animated a static shot inside VRM posing desktop, and then zoomed in a little bit and added a fake camera movement in my editing software afterwards :)
@animater3456 haha, but seriously now... I can see what you're saying. But the big difference is that ex arm was made by a real studio with a budget and entire teams working on it for months and this is why it is made fun of. But with this film, it's just me trying to create something within one week. I totally agree that the final product isn't that different, but I think it's more passable for youtube videos or indie projects with tight deadlines to be a little rough around the edges. Even one of my favourite Web series of all time (RWBY) Had some rough looking animations I'm writing a lot because your comment genuinely got me thinking about how similar but different these two things are... anyway, what do you think? Do you agree/disagree?
Do you use the 3d objects from rodin without converting to vrm? Also, do you just use it directly and can I also add it on a character in vrm texture adder? Lastly, what editing software do you use?🥲
Sure, you can import obj/glb and fbx objects to VRM Posing desktop without converting them to VRM. But you can also attach them to your vrm characters in another software from the same developer of texture replacer. It's called "vrm parts adder (if you are interested, I think I have a link to it in the description of my vroid tutorial) And I'm using Adobe Premiere for editing. It's not cheap, but I'm sort of addicted to it, unfortunately 😭 I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions :)
