I wouldn’t say gone… definitely not gone and definitely not fan like … she’s still capable of singing live even in whistle register as she does live here in this video . With age and nodules yes it becomes more difficult !!! Out of all the singers that sung tonight she actually sung the highest . The songs she sings require good breath control and she does struggle a lot but it just requires practice and it’s just hard to sing like Simon cowell said “to sing a whitney song is hard , but to sing a Mariah Carey song is vocal suicide “ !! A lot of her whistles are still there because of her nodules it’s her main voice !! Her voice is a talent and a curse and we just have to work with it !!!

Y'all really need a lesson on vocals lol, her voice is not gone it's just changed a lot. Mariah can still sing and sounds amazing. Please do your rese and listen to her recent albums AND concerts. She definitely has off days, but trust and believe Mariah still got it. Y'all need to study her instead of judging her voice over one or two clips.. Now appreciate THAT

its so refreshing to hear one sweet day and beautiful in these sets. VOL is a great opener too. I am, unfortunately, getting tired of the big energy / fantasy mashup into heartbreaker / honey combo. maybe its the big energy part because when people are at mariah shows we want to hear fantasy more than latto lol. i wish she would add touch my body if we are doing fun sets.

I agree. The Honey/Heartbreaker combo sounds lazy, it doesn’t feel like any creative effort went into it. Quite frank, I’m tired of Mariah singing the same songs, for an artist with an extensive catalogue as hers, she needs to select different material.

Her chest voice was shot here. Even the mid-belts were rough. 2:33 Adding a lipped section to VOL and 17:39 lipping the Emotions intro because she can't navigate the combination of runs, belts, and falsetto like she used to even five years ago.

I don't understand the negative comments. I love her improvising, because that is soul and I am a huge soul lover! Mariah is such a musical genius, because her improvising is gold. And Boyz2Men and her is such a heavenly combination. They are all musical geniuses and amazing singers and compliment each other so well... I have watched Mariah live 3 times since 2016 and I loved it. She finally granted Germany with 3 amazing concerts, but the Germans always take her for granted somehow and never understand her worth... Wanya, I especially love your vocals....

It´s not that bad in my opinion. Yes Mariah´s voice is not what it was in the past. Also at this point she´s already a legend and she should not be judged by her off nights because when she´s well rested and works on her voice she can still deliver a great performance. That concert was not one of her best concerts to be real, but she still showed up and did it for her fans and other people in the crowd. 🙂

Sometimes it’s not that she can’t sing these songs well, I think depending on eras, her whistles are stronger than belts and others her belts are stronger than whistles.
But this case>>> I just feel she should bring down the key and sing them in her new comfortable key, because she actually seems like she can hit those notes, it’s not just in a convenient key for her.
Another thing, I feel Mariah is somewhat obsessed to sounding exactly how she sounded in a studio song/album when she’s live, so trying to mimic the vocals instead of creating newer ones.
See One Sweet Day, she sounded so mature, sweet & soothing at the climax, even if it’s lipped, she sounded fresh and new, not like she’s trying to replicate those vocals, but what do I know?! She’s a legend, THEE STANDARD OF MUSIC!
That’s what I think I think she should re-record a lot of her classics that she sings alot and just do them in the key she’s comfortable with now because sometimes she can sing them in the original and sometimes she can’t and I think it’d be better for her just to lower the key

Im here after read so many people complaining about this performance on the Instagram comment, that saying she was late for 45 minutes, she didn't give her best, she didn't singing live, she was boring, but the fact you gusy screaming during the performance, u guys sing along, u guys excited and can't stop filming and happy with the vibe, that this is worth to wait and admit it for the once of your lifetime u amazed with the show , the incomparable, unforgettable and the extraordinary miss Mariah Fckn Carey, is not that bad right ?she still sounded cool and she look devine.
Most of it was bad...it is the second concert for this year..she had all the time to rest...it is not about resting....she sang 20 minutes only and in most songs, especially in the difficult parts, she used playback....also,i dont know if it about vocal training....maybe a vocal coach would help but she is either too proud to get help or she just doesnt care...
I thought she sounded great. Well, One Sweet Day… meh. But I enjoyed the rest.
Both of your reasons are shallow and pedantic. She has nodules and has been singing for 30 years. Move tf on if you don't like it. It's her art, and people can consume it as long as they want whether you consider it good or not. I'll never understand why everyone feels like a critic of music when it comes to Mariah, instead of just listening to something that's pleasing to them.

Can’t seem to watch a full set from her anymore.. it’s weird to see her struggle. As my favorite singer it’s hard to watch her go from struggling in certain parts, to all of a sudden singing perfectly with no notes missed, to lipping certain parts, and then struggling a bit again… plus she needs to retire certain songs already, unless she only sings these because their the ones she can vocally handle at the moment.
She did look beautiful though.

As a die hard Lamb that’s seen her live 5 times to date, each time out of her prime, I will gladly admit her voice has declined. Here’s the thing tho; it’s declined in terms of consistency because let me tell yall clowns something who stay hating. She never fails to deliver glimpses and take us back to 92, 95, 97, 03 & 05 vocals in her current voice and performances. Those ICONIC vocals are still in there however they just don’t come out effortlessly and cohesively anymore. She can crack and choke here and there all she needs because I know what my girl can do with a well rested, nourished, hydrated, relaxed body and a happy spirit.
She always delivers for her fans.

Her range might not be what it used to but it's still a beautiful voice even when spoken. Her voice is special every time she makes a sound you can hear how it just pops on top of other more regular voices
Many have said over the decades. She has a very special voice that separates from even wll high level singers. It's a gift. You can hear it when she speaks. It's a unique element in her larynx or throat/nodules. Her cry style is sublime

The demand you all put on vocalist is ridiculous! Mariah is at a point in her career where you are going to get whatever she gives. She has been all over the world singing for years. Her voice had already taken a decline by the time she hit 30 years old trying to live up to the demand of people. Her voice is tired. Mariah is 50+. She doesn't owe you anything else.
I think she can still sing and it’s hard because she’s given us epic live vocals for so many years but she was never really a “performer,” I think she’s comfortable in the studio where she can take her time and layer vocals and be an artist. Unfortunately nowadays, if you wanna make any money you can’t just stay in the studio, you gotta perform perform perform. She looked so beautiful and there was some good vocals here and there!
