I Imagine when that thing kicks on, it disables the AC / Heat HVAC system until the fire alarm is reset and the fan turns off? PS, whats with the long delay before the fan kicked on after the fire alarm went off? I wanna say it was about 2 to 2 1/2 min before the fan kicked on.
No it has no tie to the HVAC system as that system provides heating and cooling to spaces that the smoke control system has nothing to do with. The delay is not that long but is necessary to have a delay to give enough time for make up air doors to fully open otherwise they would be overcome by the negative pressure and would not be able to open. I have a video explaining this system
The delay was probably 30 seconds. If you watch when the camera inside the exhaust fan area shows the louvers opening, as soon as they open, you can briefly hear the motor kick on just before he goes back to his phone or whatever camera he's holding when he's waiting for them to start. It seemed that long because he was using two cameras and splicing the footage together.
@NIC'S - SYSTEMS & ELECTRIC these types of systems are sure to exceed fire codes. i do think they should install the pressurized fans in kitchen's too because that's where fire's are also common
They are required due to the atrium being more than two floors, which are open to it. The normal kitchen doesn’t have anything, but the commercial kitchen does have fire suppression systems in place
@@nics-systems-electric Got a mission for you. Try to obtain enough fog machines or a big enough one. It would be pretty cool but I fully understand that something like can't easily be done and might not be doable at all
th-cam.com/video/uv8BTbXV5uQ/w-d-xo.html video explaining how the system works
Gotta love fire alarm tests
Yes

3am EDT Probably midnight for you! Nice video!
Pays to stay awake tell 12:30. Nice view of the smoke fans btw
Door release and exhaust fans works aha
nice vid
Opposite the doors opened and the fans come on
Does this thing take on the smoke for the whole school or just in a certain area?

Awesome video, but the school from the previous fire drill video had its name leaked forming a privacy issue!
I'm not sure where as I try to edit out all names
If the camera inside the exhaust fan room could talk, it would have screamed, "SAVE ME!!!!!!"
Jesus the fan gave me a Jumpscare... I'm soo used to soft start motors
There ain't no soft start here lol

@@nics-systems-electric so they do have some type of fan system that draws out the smoke then
No
@@nics-systems-electric it's all water sprinklers?
@@dylanchalmers3011 It's called an Ansil system. I don't know what the agent is made of, but it's similar to a class K fire extinguisher.
Awesome where was the fans?
I would suggest watching the video
Is this at your high school
I wonder how a smoke machine would show the airflow through the atrium with the smoke fans on.
Would need a pretty big fog machine to be able to see anything

2:13 startup
7:32 shutdown
Why Do you keep on doing reruns?
Only twice first one was posted at a bad time
Bro the synchronization in my school is even WORSE
All of the alarms In my school are out of sync
What’s up with the lack of horn synchronization 😂
Not sure but there is a problem with it
Kill the power to the building a repeat test and spray fire hoses on electric motors
What kind of test is that never heard of that being done
Man those horns are out of sync!
Yes some are
