      That's fair. Female genital mutilation (also known as female circumcision) is equivalent to amputating most of the penis.
      It is very rare, and criminal, in most countries today, although there are a few holdouts (including some with a pravalent illegal practice).

    • @lochinvar00465
      @lochinvar00465 6 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Understandable. The clitoris has the same nerve endings as the foreskin. So it's clear that as a man it's easy to understand being as that's something we don't have either. But there is a difference. On the male, the entire erogenous nerve bundle is removed(because it is on the outside) while the female, even if the clit is "removed" still retains almost all of it because for her, it is mostly internal and only a small tip of it shows. An outfit called "Clitoraid" capitalizes on this and restores the clit by merely bring more of it to the surface. Unfortunately for the men, there is nothing left of the foreskin to work with.

      I'm no expert, and you clearly feel strongly about the topic of male circumcision, but I would have thought that since circumcised men are quite capable of orgasm through penile stimulation, and mutilated women would have at least _significantly_ greater trouble experiencing an orgasm through clitoral stimulation (if it is possible at all without medical intervention), that the two procedures are not as equivalent as you suggest.
      I'm not suggesting male circumcision is benign (or as some still think, good), but I do think it is a step below female genital mutilation.

    • @coweatsman
      @coweatsman 6 ปีที่แล้ว +61

    I’ve had type 1 diabetes since 1970. For years I ate low-sugar cereals with skim milk for breakfast. The starch got swiftly converted to blood glucose and I had high blood sugar all morning. Almost every morning. For twenty years. I was assured that this was a proper thing to do, because fat would clog my arteries...
    Now I usually skip breakfast and eat one low-carbohydrate meal most days. Not doing badly. Some of my doctors are horrified.

      duct, you would be horrified to learn that a lot of doctors still believe in the antequated food pyramid and recommend a diet rich in grains and low fat. I have lived in many states in the USA and they were promoting that diet SO HARD in Indiana. I was in utter disbelief and almost got into a shouting match with a nurse over how absolutely absurd and already scientifically disproven that diet was. You can't cure stupid, though. There are some younger people who were incorrectly taught by the older generations, but they can still be straightened out. A lot of the older folks, though... they are often too stubborn to change their views. In there minds: Fat makes you fat. Cholesterol causes bad cholesterol. Carb-loading is the healthiest choice. Enjoy a breakfast of toast, cereal, and a tall glass of orange juice. What? Heart disease? Diabetes? How could this have happened???

      markiangooley - I’ve been listening to a lot of Dr. Robert Lustig’s presentations lately. I’d recommend looking him up, but here’s a summary: sugar is bad. Really bad. And we consume too much. It’s basically alcohol without the buzz, and a lot of its negative health effects are similar to what you see from alcoholism (fatty liver disease, dementia, obesity, diabetes, etc.). And unlike the anti-fat brigade - which has relied on (flimsy) correlation as their only form of “proof” - Dr. Lustig maps the biochemical process to support his thesis.

    • @HiPhish
      @HiPhish 6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Throw out the skim milk (if you haven't already). In fact, throw out any "x-free" or "lower-x" foods. Take for example gluten: if there is supposed to be gluten in something and you take out the gluten, it's going to be disgusting, so you have to subsitute the gluten with something that's potentially even worse. If you can eat gluten then eat it, if you cannot then you have to avoid any gluten food entirely. All those alternative food products are just poison.
      So either drink whole milk or no milk at all. Either eat food with its intended levels of fat, or don't eat it at all.

Soups are, 1. savory, and 2. usually made from base ingredients rather than by combining things that have already been processed, cooked, and dried... Something like a mix of honey-coated, roasted oats and nuts "cereal mix" with milk could be considered a cold porridge, however it could be debated that it's a form of "muesli", a dish or preparation with Swiss alpine origins, if I'm not mistaken...

      I'm sure if they do an extra shitty job (possibly on purpose, given the other horrifying methods they implement) you will suffer nerve damage and decreased pleasure from it, enough to deter you from doing it as often if at all. Outside of some tribal customs, most people who are still circumcised have it done to them when they are infants. You grow up like nothing happened because you don't really know any different. Being old enough to think for yourself and having someone cut off your foreskin against your will would probably put a damper on your masturbation plans, at least for awhile. (especially during recovery)

    • @LuisAldamiz
      @LuisAldamiz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      It makes it more difficult (you need some lube or spit, that people with foreskin do not, also your sensitivity is probably somewhat dampened). Only full castration can completely stop masturbaton, but that would also stop reproduction and no totalitarian patriach wants that to happen to his own sons.

It was only a few dudes in the group, though, so it's a small sample size. (Not surprised guys don't want to talk about this with a bunch of half-strangers in a chatroom, haha)

      Gork Skoal but not everyone has the time for that, so they just get what they can get. In a fast paced society, cereal definitely has its place in the breakfast world. However I believe the issue is that people use bowls that are way too big and can hold up to 2 or 3 extra servings of cereal. Honestly, true cereal bowls should be able to contain at least 8-10 Oz of food which will relatively hold the appropriate serving amount of cereal. It’s all about portion control. I enjoy a bowl of any cereal I want in 10 Oz bowls and feel guilt free and ready to start my day.

    Ugh. Kellog is the worst! Raised in America, I assumed circumcision was regularly done for sound medical reasons, but when I was pregnant with my first I actually READ some medical research into it and looked into the history. So no. An obvious NO. We don't do That Nonsense to our children. It's monstrous, that circumcision. We were a rarity in the US, but now that we're in Europe, it's a given that parents wouldn't cut off bits of your babies' genitals. American puritans really have some severe hang ups on their natural sexuality. They should take a page from Europe on how to be comfortable with themselves.

      Many people, myself included, don't think that there's a huge cultural difference between America and Canada, but then I remember I was watching a show where a police was eating a donut for breakfast and I thought it was hilarious because it's such a silly thing to do that I'd never seen (I was like, 9 at the time). Whenever we went out for breakfast such as at Tim Hortons, and this is still the case, we're basically only allowed a muffin, bagel, or toast, and a drink.

She would push the kernels to a mound at one side of the bowl and dip each spoonful into the milk (this is how I eat them, as a result). Nanny would recount how she (age 9) pouted and asked her Pa why she couldn't have some. He replied that her mother needed them because she was sick. He must have believed they possessed some miraculous power against her sickness. But this was 1917 and that sickness was the Spanish Flu. It killed 'Ma' and four of Nanny's six siblings.

      dzejrid It is a staple in the US. It's practically impossible to get my step-kids to eat anything else for breakfast because that's all their mom gives them. I'd be happy to make oatmeal or eggs or something, but they think it's gross.

    That's why I usually eat Raisin Bran if I'm eating cereal. The raisins provide the perfect amount of sweetness.

      Arie Heath ya its the raisins along with about 1/3 of your bowl of Raisin Bran being sugar. And I'm 99% sure that Raisin Bran is "partially produced with genetic engineering" as most cereals are. To check just look near the bottom of the box below the Nutrition Facts and INGREDIENTS usually in small writing.

      I'm never convinced that a lot of raisins is that good for you, I always feel a bit nauseous after eating them.
      It's possible that raisins just aren't my thing though.
      Or maybe it's a bit like orange juice which I felt the same way with...and it turns out isn't great after all.

      Mr Emann Raisin bran has a ton of added sugar, this is true, and the actual problem with them. Whether there are "genetically modified" ingredients in it is completely irrelevant.

    Sugary cereals were around long before the 80's. Me, all my cousins, friends and everyone else ate cereal in the 60's & 70's either for breakfast or in between meals and night time. We were all normal weight and active and today we're all still doing pretty good. I don't eat cereal as much as I did in the past, but I do grab a box now & then.

    • @MacDaddyBiggins

      Michelle L eating can make people tired so eating in the morning before you have to do a bunch of work could be counterproductive, and eating at night could make it easier to go to sleep

      Mega Max Brick Builder I will literally start to feint by noon if I skip eating in the morning. How is the body supposed to work if you don't give it food? That's so counterintuitive.
      Eating small amounts and light foods won't bog you down and make you tired anyways. It was probably more of a cultural issue that people didn't eat until later on.
      The same reason we reach for cereals ad a normal breakfast despite it being basically dessert lol

      The energy you get needed to work takes six to eight hours to digest from the food you eat. The ATP you are burning in the morning came from the day before.

    • @thugai8150
      @thugai8150 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a very active lifestyle? It sounds strange that you would "literally start to feint by noon" if you skip breakfast. I've been almost only eating later in the day after I get home from work (at around 21.00) for almost 2 years now and I don't feel tired (as long as I get enough sleep) nor do I feel hungry. It may seem scary to people who are used to eating 3 meals a day (or more) but this is the norm for me now. I still sometimes eat in the morning or afternoon, like when I'm visiting my grandmother and don't want her to worry, or if it's a weekend and I just start eating in the middle of the day out of boredom (TH-cam is so much better with food), since I don't have work to keep me occupied, but I'm never actually hungry during those times and it feels totally unnecessary.

    Without even watching it... The Kellogg's brothers, & Dad & Daughter Post....
    Oh and marketing!
    (Funny side note: Dr. Kellogg did NOT want anything to do with the Kellogg's Corn Flakes business because his brother added sugar. He was highly against sugar in food. {He was sort of a whacko lol})
    Then it became an insanely profitable item.
    So he wanted his due, since Dr. Kellogg was so well known it was HIS name that first brought people to even try the corn flakes.
    He sued his brother but I can't remember the outcome of that trial...

    The 80s and 90s? No, the mid-60s to the 70s had Super Sugar Crisp, which evolved to Super Golden Crisp...with a bit less sugar and more corn syrup. We also had a ton of other solid sugar items that had bits of wheat, oats, and fibre added to be legally considered "food". The 80s and 90s went from raisins to also, sometimes, adding apple, strawberry, blueberry, and a few other fruits, that were suspended in this noxious sugar paste to make the final result something similar to fruit newtons. (I still grab a box of blueberry newton bar like items, sometimes)

    You do NOT need hardly any carbs. I cut out my carbs and sugar months ago and have become lean, much healthier, and feel better than I have in years. Most of my diet is fats, followed by protein. Tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, meat, eggs, butter, and salad, along with spices. It works, I guarantee it.

    Tbh, I think the main thing to take away from this nutrition-wise is that diets ought to adapt to lifestyles, physiologies, and other individual needs. There are no universal solutions.
    Also maybe people should be taught basic biochem.
    Also also, in general as a species we never stop improving. I.e. the past was never better than the present. We really should reflect more on why we do things though.
    Blah blah blah. Won't ramble on.
