The only thing I would do different for this experiment is I would drop the HP Dragon as I don't think it's on the retirement list so far, it's Hedwig the Owl that I saw on the list. So I would use that money to put into something else that is retiring.

Interesting series for sure. I'm triggered by you only redeeming the Landspeeder poster from May last year recently. LEGO of course always states that codes are redeemable for just 60 days, but I guess your experience shows otherwise? Looking forward to the next videos!
I feel the most possible reason is that it was an undesirable promo code! So still available 9 months later. Anything better I'd redeem much sooner don't worry ! 😉
Well look who’s back and a great video to come back to … liking the plan!! Great in-depth look into this and like the info you’re giving out to peeps. Like you, been doing this a while and am fortunate to put a large amount down for this year … but I have a different battle plan this year, I’m going £15k on just larger retiring sets for this year … less ROI in theory, but larger amounts back. Now you could say a risk, regards cost of shipping etc but after seeing how true Lego enthusiasts buy at these Lego festivals I reckon it might just be a good plan. Already have done one this year and made a killing, so got five more booked for this year. That said, if I do see great deals on smaller sets I will jump on them.
Hey "big set" Lee! 😆 I like your battle plan! I know Iain has great success at the fairs. Alot to be said for selling with virtually no risk of fraud ( no one can try and scam you like on eBay ). What's your favourite retiring big set this year?!

I think you’re right, hard product in front of you is a lot more tempting to buy. I’d have to say Medieval Blacksmith is up there, being an exclusive as well helps. Also think the UCS Gunship could be a dark horse. And I will pick up the Police Station, as Modular’s always do well really!! I meant to say earlier I have been buying Venom where I can .. to pair up with Carnage at a later date!! 👍
Lee, I am liking your plan of going for big retiring sets. Say you get the gunship, blacksmith ect that are retiring this year. How long would you hold before taking to a festival?

The fact is you never know how well a set is going to do, we can have all these plans and ideas but the fact is we don’t know … but to answer the question, let’s take the recent success of the “Upside down house” in “Stranger things”. Picked them up the September of 2021 at £130 each, sold them in the March of 2022 for over £300. So it can depend, but I always just try to double my money. And don’t get me wrong, I’ll still buy some smaller sets that I think will do well … but am just concentrating on the larger ones.
I did that last year and from the boba fett helmets doubling and Stranger things and Gar Saxon going for crazy amounts. Lego investing does work when you the right sets
Will keep an eye on this series, cant wait to see the results. Know you will make a profit, the question is how much. My bet is £10k profit so around £20k revenue.

Thanks James! The glitch was great, I'm assuming it had to be a glitch as it was just a silly discount. Check Cardyard frequently, all the gift cards have different discount percentages. They can get uploaded at any time of day. Nothing is guaranteed though. As someone has to be selling the guftcards for them to be available to buy!
I am not sure, it was on Brick Fanatics specific HP retiring list. But not their comprehensive list... hopefully, in the coming months it becomes clearer.
