I've held the unobtainable hope of meeting, dating or becoming a dragon for a very long time, yet I think I'd chose to become dragon chow if put in this scenario. Losing the memories and experiences that lead to my love of all things dragon isn't something I could willing chose, sacrificing the core components of oneself would just mean that the thing emerging from the transformation is a new entity entirely, built upon the dead sense of self and desecrating ones own legacy. It's essential just a choice between two different forms of death, which is most certainly the point, so the decision really shouldn't matter and yet it does. In the end I would have to become food, I just could not embrace oblivion with open arms if I knew my flesh would kept living on after I'd passed, a new entity living my dream whilst wearing my twisted flesh but being completely unaware of that dream having even existed. A slow and painful death would be preferable indeed. Sorry about the ramblings, just sharing my admittedly deranged thoughts. Great ASMR as always by the way, nice and relaxing.
I don't know about slow and painful being necessarily preferable, but yeah, the point of transformation for me is remembering who you were before so you can better relish your new form. Knowing that you were a human isn't the same as remembering you were a *person
