    You guys are doing it right. We bought our second home in Arizona, but summer heat was too much, so we bought our third home in Germany. Winter in Arizona and summer in Germany.

      Summer in Germany doesn't sound bad at all!

      @Mandingobull วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @WheretoNextOverland it's not bad at all, except wild camping is prohibited so any camping is done at established campgrounds.

    Congratulations! We got out of Washington State 5 years ago. I can't say it was easy on one level, as we were born and raised there and my family goes back three generations. We had our careers there, raised our family there but it was just time for a change. We now have a home in Northern Utah and one about 30 minutes from Zion National Park in Southern Utah. Coming from the way to many grey, dreary, rainy days it has been the best decision ever. For those of us that appreciate the desert, I look forward to seeing you desert adventures! Cheers.

    I sub’s because you were one of the few doing PNW. There is a lot of AZ and other desert content. Bummer for me. Happy for you. We do like to snowbird but in summer, late spring and early fall, PNW is best for me. Glad there will still be some PNW adventures but ya got me spinning on the video title.

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hahaha, yeah, the title was borderline, I'll admit. But yeah, PNW videos will probably outnumber AZ videos 5/1 for now. So don't worry ....

    Lived in Arizona from about 5-18yrs old. Graduated High School from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. My besr friend I've known since Kindergarten still lives in Mesa. AZ has always held a special place in my heart. Haven't been back in about 22 years though. The AZ BDR is definitely on the short list to tackle. 😉

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      AZ BDR is definitely on our list as well! TBH, Arizona was never on my list of places to want to come to until about 5 years ago. A spring trip down here radically changed my perspective on Arizona. Absolutely fell in love with the desert, the landscapes, and it doesn't hurt that they have In N Out down here 😂

    As a PNWer looking to become a winter snowbird and buy a second home in a sunnier location where outdoor adventures are still nearby, any areas around Phoenix metro to recommend?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  11 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      We're big fans of the Chandler / Gilbert area. 15-20 mins from the airport, downtown Gilbert & Chandler both have pretty fun vibes, and the Tonto National Forest is only about 30-40 mins away. Honestly though, the entire Phoenix metro area is surrounded by regional parks. Tons of hiking and outdoor adventures to be had within about 20 mins of the area.

    • @WheretoNextOverland

      DEFINITELY not IT. Both Christine and I are pretty hopeless with technology, haha.
      I really hate the word 'entrepreneur', but I guess that might be the most fitting word to use? We own a handful of businesses and after 15 years of busting our butts, they have started to afford us more time freedom and location independence.
      Maybe if enough people are interested, we'll make a video sharing more details at some point in the future

    • @WheretoNextOverland

      Arizona has some outstanding natural beauty but Arizona had more rude and angry people than any of the 40 states I’ve been to, maybe that’s what 113 consecutive days of 100 degree weather does to people. It’s a nice place to visit but you couldn’t pay me to live there.
