The Khichdi in me too. Born in Delhi, my paternal grandparents was from Tamilnadu and my maternal grandparents was from Lahore. My mom grew up in Kolkata and my father grew up in Odisha. I spent my early childhood in Delhi and Chandigarh, then shifted to Bhubaneswar for my high school graduation and im studying medicine in Tamilnadu. This is so amazing when I meet people and i can understand all of the languages whether its Pashto, Punjabi, Bengali, Odia, Tamizh, Kannada or Malayalam. Avanti, your initiative is bringing people together. You are the source of inspiration. ❤

Hey Avanti, the song that you sung in the Punjabi part was actually a Hindi song it was not punjabi not even close. As a Punjabi myself it’s sad for me people don’t understand the difference between Hindi and Punjabi they are the same, comparing them is kind of like comparing Spanish and Italian. So, please it’s a request please sing a real Punjabi song and ask someone who’s actually from Punjab and ask them about which song would be better for you.

The "zh" sound is used more in Malayalam than in Tamil. The "zh" sound is somewhat close (but not exactly) to the strong American "R" (Southern) sound used in the early 1900s. However, it is a mixture of "R," "L," and "sh."

Wowww! You're immensely talented. Loved all the songs & languages you've sung. For a person like me it could be difficult to sing in just one language and here's you singing effortlessly in so many languages as if they're all your mother tongues.😅
Just a suggestion, you could have included Urdu as well. The Hindi song you sung felt like inclining more towards Urdu. So maybe a Pure Hindi (bhajan or kavita) and a separate Pure Urdu (a ghazal or naghma) song could have made the list even more engaging & comprehensive. Both Hindi & Urdu are Indian languages, originating from Uttar Pradesh. And both are major languages in India. Greetings.🇮🇳🙏🚩

Many Languages have tongue twisters. But Tamizh & Malayalam has a Letter ழ & ഴ which individually stand alone as a Tongue twisters 😊. Anyway it is easy to pronunce it. Position of 'tongue tip' is touching tooth for ल... & palate (hard palate) for ळ .. And completely twist inside towards soft palate down for ழ & ഴ . 🎉Done 👍

Great concept but some issues too
    1. Map Goofup:
    (A) At 20:09 it's Gujarat, not Uttarakhand 😔. Uttarakhand is above Uttar Pradesh. This needs to be corrected.
    (B) Punjabi is spoken in the regions of India and Pakistan (mostly East Punjab and our Punjab, Haryana, HP, Delhi) and not the entire country as shown at 14:38.
Similarly while telling about Bangla at 4:57, you didn't highlight Bangladesh though for Punjabi you included Pakistan. You should be careful about representation.
    2. 'Zh' of 'Tamizh' (yes it's Tamizh not Tamil) is similar to 'ळ' of Marathi so ideally it should not have been difficult to you. Malayalam has more variants of this letter.
    3. Your choice of Bhojpuri song could have been better. There are so many beautiful Bhojpuri folk songs but not sure why did you choose this one and even you were skeptical. Many Bhojpuris themselves don't like this song.
    4. Similarly the version of 'Ambarsariya' you chose is more Hindi than Punjabi. You could have chosen the original version by Ramesh Sialkoti & Mohini Narula (Punjabi Lokdhara channel on TH-cam).
