yeah, there are some movies that leave such an emotional mark that even though you liked them. you can only see them once. For me, that is Gus Van Sants' "Elephant"
Hah... Kirk Douglas, I think was cast but the producers didn't like him. Douglas was disappointed but later watched the film and was glad he didn't do it.

Two Thumbs Up: Philadelphia, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, (from previous shows) Schindler's List, The Piano, Wayne's World 2 Split Vote: The Pelican Brief, Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (Ebert) Two Thumbs Down: Beethoven's 2nd
This is the kind of episode that makes me flip over to the NES. One time my brother and I were seeing how far I could go on Mike Tyson's Punch Out playing upside down with my toes when we saw Super Macho Man do 33 spins. I beat everyone but Mike Tyson.
My thanks to That Old T.V. for all these At The Movies originals from the vault of my time. I thoroughly enjoy the look back .. TgT
This channel is great - thanks for all you do!
R.I.P. Robert Culp, Alan Pakula, Chris Penn, Jonathan Demme, Jason Robards, Charles Grodin, Richard Harris, and Darlene Cates.
RIP Roger and Gene as well.
I've watched Philadelphia only once. I cried 😢 at the end.

Surprised Siskel didn’t like pelican brief
Wow. They didn’t seem to like Hanks’ performance much here.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape is a brilliant movie!

Watching Wrestling Earnest Hemingway was like pulling teeth without anesthesia.

The Pelican Brief, Philadelphia, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape? are great movies. I haven't seen the other two.
The Pelican Brief 👍⭐️⭐️ & a half out of 4
Beethoven 2nd 👎⭐️⭐️
Philadelphia 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went to see The Pelican Brief at the cinema when it came out, I regret it to this day.
I saw it in theaters as well. The best part of the film was the guy loudly snoring at the end of the aisle.
