《花漾寶島》李佳盈 曲
花漾寶島，具有多重的意象，它可意指在臺灣土地上綻放的各類花種，亦可是作曲家／作詞人以花作為隱喻，譜寫出具有時代背景及歷史意義的歌謠詩詞。故筆者在創作素材的選擇上，便以在臺灣民間流傳，分別來自各族群跟花相關的歌曲，呼應花漾寶島的創作理念。
如將百合花視為族花的魯凱族古調《百合花的禮讚》；或是藉由花的姿態來暗喻女子情懷的閩南語歌曲《六月茉莉》、《雨夜花》；以及客家經典的男女對唱歌謠《桃花開》；和在臺灣六、七零年代紅極一時的《夜來香》等。而除了選用上述的旋律作為創作素材外，在樂曲中同時也運用不同配器及和聲，豐富多變的風格，象徵寶島文化的多元與富饒。
此作品為2018 年12 月由國立傳統藝術中心臺灣國樂團委託創作。
Taiwan in Bloom／Composed by Lee Chia-Ying
Speaking of the naming of this piece, Taiwan in Bloom, it has multiple images to tell. Not only can it refer to all kinds of flowers blooming in Taiwan, but it can also be used by composers and writers to use flowers as a metaphor to write songs and poems with historical background and significance. Therefore, in terms of the choice in materials, the composer picks up several songs related to “flowers” in various ethnic groups in Taiwan, echoing the creative concept of “Taiwan in Bloom”.
For example, this piece includes the ancient tune “Praise of Lily” from Rukai (one of the indigenous group in Taiwan); “Jasmine in June” and “The Torment of a Flower”, two Hokkien songs that depict the feelings in love with a metaphor of flowers; “Peach Blossom”, a classic Hakka ballad song; and lastly, “Night clover”, causing a great sensation during the 60s and 70s in Taiwan. In addition to the use of the above melody as a creative material, different orchestration and harmony in the music are used with rich and varied style, symbolizing the diversity and richness of the treasure island culture.
Taiwan in Bloom was commissioned in December 2018 by the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan under the Taiwan Center for Traditional Arts.
