It sure sounds like a very tight top end with no piston slap and the idling exhaust note sounds like you had the air/mixture on the carb right for a very nice idle for its two stroke engine. Those were very well built motorcycles for the day. Well done!
1973 a great line of enduro bikes from Yamaha.. i would love any one of the bigger cc bikes from 175 - 360...although i love the color of an LT-100 in purple..
Thanks! I restored a 360 before the 250, but it was too much of an animal for me - good luck with yours! (If you see a nice Baja Brown one, parked on a forecourt, under Google images, it's probably mine!)
Glad you like it - sadly I sold it a few years ago now. (Did you see the build on my OldJapBikeGuy website?) However, I'm now restoring TWO Yamaha DT1s from 1969; they will be posted on here when they eventually get finished. If you want something similar, just keep watching Ebay like I did, or check out the excellent Australian VMX magazine - there should be some good sources there! Good luck, and thanks for your comment!
My first motorcycle and I bought it brand new. Even chicks wanted to ride on the back. I loved that bike.
Oh that wonderful sound. All those (my) enduros sounded the same. 100, 175, and 360.
Beautiful machine! My very first motorcycle was a 1973 Yamaha DT250 Enduro! What memories!
Nice, just picked up my 360 today, looking forward to making it shiny!
Wow! Beautiful and sexy bike!
