Absolutely. And surely they have “wrinkle free” clothes in America? On another point, I’m pretty sure heat (like from a clothes dryer) also would kill bacteria. However, for some reason the clothes dryer tends to leave your clothes a bit “moist” if you don’t have the timing absolutely spot on. Besides, there is also that nice “fresh air” smell when you hang them out on the line.

Hung a massive load of laundry out yesterday and half an hour later it was completely bone dry 👍 so saved myself a bit of money and my clothes were drier quicker plus electricity is so much more expensive here too so have to be more careful with how it's used

that fresh warm smell when you get the washing off the line on a hot summer day is soooo nice.
On an absolute scorcher, I used to try and see how many loads I could get on and off before I either ran out of day or ran out of line space. On a really good day I could do one on one off,,, get that first load out and on the line, then see if it was ready to come in before the second load went out...as I got older and less ambulant, it slowed down to 2 or 3 on before I started bringing it in...I miss being physically able to get out to the hoist to hang my washing... these days everything goes in the dryer and if it's not dryable it doesn't get purchased in the first place 😏

I'm 65 and I only use the dryer if I have to there's nothing like the smell of freshly washed clothes dried in the sun it's like you can smell the sunshine

How can Australia be low on water. They are surrounded by water haven't they heard of Desalination .. process, applied to seawater, is one of the most used to obtain fresh water for human consumption or agricultural purposes. Its easier to push the problem on its citizens than to build desalination plants. Maybe they should asked Africa how to build them
Australia is one of the driest countries in tge world.
I think it's a cost thing for the household. Save money on your water bills.
We do have those plants, and i think they are expensive to run.
She is not talking about a pair of slides. A slippery dip is a device at a play area where kids climb up a ladder and slide down a shiny metal slide.
Or a plastic 1. Growing up in WA the slides were metal and off limits during summer unless you wanted 3rd degree burns just like every piece of the car including the vinyl seats in the 80's.
A slide is something you put in a “slide projector” (for those of us old enough to remember those things)😊. And beta video tapes and music cassette tapes. Good lord, someone stop me. I’m showing my age😊

I hated it when people went on holidays then came back & as a kid I had to sit & pretend for hrs that I was interested as they gave a complete run down of everything they done as my mother tried to stop my father from getting drunk & hanging himself out of boredom.

Slippery dips are a metal or plastic slide that kids or adults can slide down on. It’s used on play equipment in parks
Licences on your phone have to be on a government issued app in your state and is considered a legal form of identification. I work in a liquor store and have to ask for ID all the time, and this is accepted.

The air in Australia is perfect for drying clothes outside . The sun is free . No power bills to dry your clothes . With synthetic fabrics the dryer is the worst thing . Under garments with elastic in them hate heat . The dryer is the easy and lazy way to do this . This world has so many easy options that cost electricity to make them work cause we are too lazy to do it the old school way lol . The throw away society is also the biggest problem to our children .
We in India have, driving License, Insurance, Registration, National Identity, Plane tickets, Metro(Subway) tickets, Train ticked, and everything else on the phone, and it is accepted everywhere in the country.
And we don't carry cash as much now, as the phone payment is everywhere.
Fresh air smell on your clean linen is the best. Line drying also gets creases out. Clothes lines are the only way to go except when raining

As for the use of dryers, the lazy Aussies use dryers or when we have a stretch of rainy days. Me personally, insist that our towels are dried in the dryer as this softens them.
We call them power points, but in Aussie construction, the technical term is a GPO (General Power Outlet)

The drivers license on your phone is saved in the state government app. Police and venue security can scan it with their apps to verify
Your clothes must fall apart pretty quickly if you use the clothes dryer all the time. And the sheets feel so good when freshly washed and line dried. Our electrify bills are too expensive to warrant using the dryer even if you wanted to.
It isn't just a half flush. Toilets in the USA has so much water in the bowl it's freaky. I estimate that it's approximately 30x the water.
And we've had dual flush toilets since the 1960s cos we're smart. 👍
What I've seen and heard about Seppo dunnies is that it looks like you can swim laps in them with the amount of water they use! No wonder you get splashed while "dropping the kids off at the pool!" 😳😳😳

I had what Starbucks call coffee once......once......never again. Their coffee was so bad I wasn't at all surprised when Starbucks failed as a company and shut every store in my state. Starbucks coffee is atrociously bad.
Exactly....here in OZ pretty well every coffee shop sells proper barista made coffee to order, instead of that sour drip stuff in Starbucks which is weak and sugary.
A friend once bought me a Starbucks coffee. We're not friends anymore.
I had brain surgery and the only ‘coffee’ shop in the building was Starbucks. I went across the road in my dressing gown to get a real one 😂
I used to do around 5,000 to 6,000 miles a year on my bike. I rode with very experienced riders, including professional racers. We used to say that the technical term for someone who rides without a helmet is "organ donor".
I’m told that American’s bake their loaves of bread with sugar whereas Australian’s don’t (except for sweet buns like cinnamon buns). So I figure that eating fairy bread is like eating American bread only a bit crunchy 😊

I was in the US Army and spent some time in Australia back in the late 60's and especially in the outback they call a cigarette a fag. Almost got into a throw down when one Aussie asked if he could bum a fag at a Bar in White Cliffs while Opal hunting. They call all Americans Yanks and I told them I'm not a Yank I'm from Charleston SC I got the strangest looks. I finally got some respect when I beat one of their best wrestlers during a night of drinking shots.. Woke up next morning with a authentic bush hat I had no idea where it came from or who gave it to me..I still have it. So if any of those guys are around Conwell still has your hat..thanks mate

Years ago, during one of the droughts & the dams were very low, I seem to recall an add that asked to save water & the punch line was "If its yellow, let it mellow, if its brown flush it down".
There is nothing better than sheets dried in the sun. They smell and feel amazing.
Spaghetti Os on toast... try it, it's not an everyday meal, but is a quick and easy lazy day meal.
Drying your clothes in the sunlight is the best thing for them espically we have fresh clean air but with electricity prices I have a household of 5 and washing clothes constantly. If I used the dyer every load my electricity bill would be 1000s
She wasnt talking about footwear slides , when i was a kid a slide was a straight one , a slippery dip was one that curled around like the plastic ones , or had water running down it like they do at water themed amusement parks.
I asked my german backpacker workmate about adidas , she said its pronounced the way aussies say it , and definately not the american way lol
USA’in Starbucks need to learn that cappuccino actually includes 2/3 coffee and only 1/3 foam. Not 90% foam.

Fairy bread is a children's party item, and is not eaten by all Aussies. I had some when I was 8 or 9 and that's the last time.

I have a dryer, but I'm one that only uses it if I have too.
In Australia, you can generally hang clothes up indoors and they'll dry overnight. If you hang them up outdoors in summer, they'll be dry in 2 hours, which is less than a normal dryer cycle.
I like using clothes dryers until I get the electricity bill, cheap to hang the clothes on the line

Yep, I live in Australia and I have my licence on my phone. As well as my bank card etc. I don't own a clothes dryer, incidentally, and have never owned one in my life. Don't see the point. Hanging your clothes in the sun is cleaner and they're dry in an hour. Admittedly I live in Australia's tropical north. As to bike helmets, in Holland, the most bike-infested country in the world, EVERYBODY rides bikes and NOBODY wears helmets!
We'll see if you still use your dryer when your electricity is .50 cents per kWh or more.

Yep, licence on your phone. In South Australia, it is part of a state government app so you have to get it all set up.
So a Slippery dip is found in a park or as we call it a playground for kids . You have a ladder to climb up and you slide down the other side ,some have a dip in the middle ( like a wave ) hence the name slippery dip
Yeah, my state has drivers licences online, along with vehicle registrations, working with children checks, seniors cards and so on. Tried to use the online licence to hire a car in the USA and they would not accept it. Thought it was just a photo. Could not believe it’s actually access to your real licence on the states computer system, with far better verification aids. Fortunately I still carried a plastic licence with me.
Yeah, the serviceNSW app lets you refresh the page and shows the date and time that it got refreshed last, but wouldn't be valid in the US

drying clothes on a dryer in the sun, just feel so much better, so much crisper, and smell clean. UV does that.
heres another thing....we call a bbq a barbie, not a grill or cookout.....tho we do have shrimp, they're usually found in freshwater and have nippers whereas prawns dont....we also butter our bread when makin sanga's (sandwiches)...the only time we use a clothes dryer is during shitty weather cos it helps keep the electrickery costs down...a trunk is a boot here, we call "fenders" mudguards or guards, the hood is a bonnet, a stick shift car is a manual...a "sidewalk" here is a footpath....instead of asking to use the bathroom we just say we're gunna use the dunny or loo (for the most part, the dunny is in a small room all of its own)...no matter what code of football ya follow, we call it footy (except for soccer)...with the fairy bread, its not called sprinkles cos we call it hundreds and thousands n they're always round.....we dont go to the "gas" station cos we go to the servo (short for service station) to get petrol or petty....ohhhhhhh theres soooooooooo much more lol
Mandatory bike helmets was not around when i grew up in Victoria Australia in the 70's and 80's i think it came in early 2000's
early 90's in NSW.. It took me a while to start using 1, but they've saved my life at least 3x.

The licence on the phone is digital ID. we have it here in my state in Australia. When the police pull u over you show ur licence on the phone and they have a scanner that checks it
Its called Adidas because the guy who made them is actually called Adi (Adolf) (pronounced Ad+e not A+dee) Dassler. Ergo, it's a conjuction of the first three letters of both names = Adi+Das NOT A-dee-dus!!!

Every house used to have a lemon tree in the back yard for the males to pee on,when we still used thunder boxes so you didn't fill the can up with too much fluid.
Most of the Air in Australia is clean about 90% use clothe lines. to dry clothing good old sunlight UV to kill germs and dry clothing.
I don’t use a dryer even in winter outside dry or cloths hoisted in winter mate. ❤Australia don’t get that cold

what you said about hanging clothes on a clothes line is one in a million chance that going to happen. In summer it only takes an hour and they dry any way.

It's healthier to be wearing clothes that are air dried/sun dried. It is not healthy to put them into a drier. I have a drier but have never ever used it. Why should I when a few steps out of the laundry is a very good clothes line and there is heaps of sun bearing down on the clothes so they dry within half an hour usually, dependent on the time of year of course.
Slides in Australia are the kids slides in parks, not the footwear.
Kids laugh and smile when they go down a slippery dip. It's a fun word for a fun kids activity. 😊
Firstly the switches are to isolate the power and thus preventing accidental electrocution. Secondly an outlet is where you go to buy stuff ie clothing outlets, sporting goods outlets/ Third point is I can take 5 minutes to hang 4 times the clothes that I can put in my dryer then wait 20 minutes for the intense Aussie sun to do it's work. Sure beats having to keep loading and unloading a dryer and wait all day to do that amount.
In Victoria we say slide
In South Australia the state government has an app which shows your drivers license, my boat license, firearms license, and also any vehicles you own all the registration details
Therefore it’s mandatory to carry your phone...which is traceable.

Slippery dip / slide .. 6 of one half a dozen of the other. We call them both. My daughter bought my 4 year old grandson a pair of slides (for his feet) and I jokingly said to him as we were heading out.. "Ok, get your slippery dips on" .. "Oh Grandma you're joking" 😂😂

I hang the washing on the line, in Queensland on a sunny day the clothes dry faster on the line. Frozen coke is the best on a hot day and a coffee in the morning is a must, we have drive through coffee shops.

Only use the drier if the air is damp but i always mostly air dry then finish off in dryer if itscold and wet and damp. Otherwise hang the clothes .
The licence on your phone is the actual licence that can be viewed via the state government app. If you opt not to carry the physical licence, you are required to ensure that your phone has sufficient charge and the screen is not damaged so you can show the licence when required.
Not sure if you get what a Slippery Dip is, it is a children's 'slide' in a playground or park.
G'day Guys!Drivers licences on your phone are now OK in 4 states, NSW, Victoria, South Aust, and Queensland....I have a dryer for when I need to wash on rainy or wet days...I did washing today and it was 38º C (or 100º F) and I am NOT going to be putting a bloody hot dryer onion the house! Adidas comes for the name of the founder Adolf Dassler who was called Adi for short with the emphasis on the A not the Iso then add Das from Dassler so it will not sound like AdEE-das... Cheers!

Generally we do not eat Fairy Bread but if a small 5y.o or something is having a birthday party one of the things a mum might put out for the kids to eat would be fairy bread, but generally speaking it is not something we eat, small kids like the colourfulness of it and the sweetness naturally.

What up dream team… yeah especially up here in Queensland we use the clothesline all the time I hung my work clothes out at 6am and it was done half an hour later, 40 degrees Celsius is common by 11am, the helmets are a safety precaution yes because of the magpies, you’ll see dudes with zip ties poked out the top hahaha. The slides were are killer as a kid, picture the sun on a metal slide instant kid bbq and the sudden stop at the end was always an arse breaker. Merry Xmas dream team….

Our traffic lights have sound for vision impaired and I'm sure if you keep your hand on it it vibrates for hearing impaired to know when to go

Frozen Coke is not a slushie/slushy and I wish Australians stopped calling them slushies.
Frozen Coke and Fanta etc are actual frozed carbonated drinks that are the texture of frozen froth/bubbles...there is still a small amount of fizz.
Slushies are shaved or little balls of water ice with a flavoured liquid mixed in...that's the difference...a frozen Coke is actually Coke that is frozen.
The rest of the world doesn't know what it's missing by not having chicken salt.
Clothes driers are the most powerful hungry and therefore most expensive appliance to run in the house. Sunlight is free...!
Power outlets without a switch will use power if appliances are on standby thats why aussies have a switch
