it’s crazy how in a league chock full of import mids the three best are all domestic (palafox jojo insanity) that’s why i hate the “na has no good players” narrative. na has plenty of mechanically promising young players we just also have the worst roster construction management and culture of any major region so we squander our talents more than eu/kr/cn do. with nrgs success and the budget cuts next year maybe we can finally see north american league commit to sustainability not burning millions on benchboys in other regions
The best performing players for NA at this Worlds have all been from NA (with the exception of Berserker). And the worst--Gori, Zven, Fudge, Summit--were all overhyped and overpriced imports. And that's not including all the bottom-tier imports--Vicla, Quid, Closer, Ruby, etc. who were among the worse players in the LCS.

CLG just needed to stick it out 1 more year (or maybe their name brand is just cursed)

I mean this also happened in group stage at other worlds teh easiest groups consisted of one strong lck/lpl region then na/eu/minor region this system is generally better for the most part. You can get really unlucky like KT who have had a crazy hard draw or really easy but for most teams this was really quite balanced and much more competitive than having a guaranteed group of death or maybe even 2 like at previous worlds.

Miky and Yike particularly didnt show any signs of life, so its pretty evident they were at lower strength than their best. But thats the game, you gotta perform or upsets will happen. Yeah this new format is terrible for competitive integrity. Great for NA and EU fans who could never beat an Asian team to advance to Bo5s

I mean they manhandled G2 so big respect but everyone could definately see that they probably didn't deserve to be on 2 wins already based on the format.
I mean this also happened in group stage at other worlds teh easiest groups consisted of one strong lck/lpl region then na/eu/minor region this system is generally better for the most part. You can get really unlucky like KT who have had a crazy hard draw or really easy but for most teams this was really quite balanced and much more competitive than having a guaranteed group of death or maybe even 2 like at previous worlds.
tbh anyone watching could see that G2 were not playing as they usually do in these two games, almost like they didnt prepare

it felt like all the structural issues that g2 lowkey had all year but never got exposed reared their heads at once and nrg came into the series knowing exactly what they needed to punish from g2

Nrg played rly well this series but let's also be honest to say that g2 played very very underwhelmingly for their standards
Did you ever think they played poorly because NRG forced that from them? Perhaps the better team created a situation where they would do well and their opponents...not so well.😅
@@jadetrentrichards255 Nah even if that was the case, G2 made too many mistakes in this series. Miky and Yike particularly didnt show any signs of life, so its pretty evident they were at lower strength than their best.
But thats the game, you gotta perform or upsets will happen. NRG played very cleanly and G2 didnt, the winner was obvious after game 1.
