Dremel is an excellent versatile tool and you can literally use it anywhere around the garage or shop. Write down below the crazies things you’ve done with a Dremel??
You should balance the blade before you re-install the blade on the lawnmower because if you don't make sure the blade is balanced it could damage the bearings or shaft with the high speed the mower blade turns at. You also will get a lot of vibration from an out of balance blade. You can simply hammer a nail into the end of a small piece of wood and secure it level in a vise with the nail facing horizontally outward. Hang the blade on the nail to see which end dips and this would be the heavier end. You need to take more material of the heavier end and recheck it on the balance point (the nail). Repeat checking until the blade stays level on the balance point. Once the blade stays level on the nail (i.e. both sides of the blade are equal in weight), the blade is balanced and can be re-installed on the mower. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Paul! Yeah I had no idea about balancing the blade, figured I would make a video about using the Dremel to sharpen it. I’ve since watched quite a few videos about balancing and such. Thanks for watching!
Hey Billy, I actually have one but I never opened the box lol. I don’t think that you’ll have an issue with it. Keep it on a high speed and don’t use to much force and you should be good to go.
Thanks for answering my question! I thought about going to Harbor Freight and getting a cheap grinder, but I’ve got Dermal, so thanks to you, I saved some money 👍
I had wondered about doing this myself. Only thing I might consider doing differently is clamp the blade to a bench or table. Headed out to try it now. Thanks for posting your video.
Thank you for the video. I noticed you haven't tried to balance the blade after grinding. Do you fine your lawn mower 'buckles' because of this. Cheers from 🇬🇧
Hey Dave, thank you for your question. I honestly did not pay attention to the balance and good thing that you mentioned it, I’ll have to check it. As far as it buckling, I haven’t had any issues. Thanks again for your comment 🤙🏻
Finally someone smart enough to use a mask when grinding . I have watched like 6 videos and no one was wearing a dust mask .Crescent wrench aka knuckle buster .
Thank you for making this video. My old hand me down lawnmower is much better with a "somewhat" sharpened blade. The process is simple, but it takes some practice.
My only question is why didn't you use the adapter that is made for doing exactly this? Dremel "ROTORY TOOL SHARPENING KIT FOR OUTDOOR LAWN TOOLS". It would set you up to grind at the correct angle

Don’t forget to clean off all the lawn crud before you balance the blade!
I was wondering if I could do this with my Dremel lite. Thanks for the video

Good choice Leo, I love mine!

You’re welcome Zachary, thanks for watching!
Exactly what I was looking for. I wish you had done a closeup of the blade after you installed it to see the sharpened side. Thanks good job.
Thanks Kan! Hopefully this works for you, I had some good results.
Thanks! I have a Dremel 3000. I can do this thanks to you.
That’s awesome, thanks Ron! Thanks for watching

Brilliant
Thank you 🤙🏻
Aw might give this a go with my old lawn mower. I brought it secondhand and I’ve had it 5yrs so I bet the blade is pretty rusty under there 😊
Haha nice! It was a fun project. I sharpen my blade every other month or so.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving what really 😂 bet you have lots of grass to cut.
Haha not anymore since I killed my grass to reseed it this fall. But yeah I have quite the lawn here.
Nice useful tips 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mom! 😃
Good work bro
How can sharp the burr
Thanks man! I don’t think you can sharpen burr you just replace them. Unless you’re talking about the pneumatic type engraver cutters.
@@TriadoCustomEngraving
I couldn't find an alternative or similar to it
I'm @ the DREMEL section of home Depot...sheesh, worse than the cereal Ile 😉 I think I'll go for the 3000model. Thanks man
Good choice Daniel! I started out with Dremel 3000 and it still works like a champ
No check of blade balance?
Not in this video
Thank you for making this video. My old hand me down lawnmower is much better with a "somewhat" sharpened blade. The process is simple, but it takes some practice.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
Yay!!
Thanks bro!
thanks great video I need to sharpen my blade on my mower I will be trying it today10-06-21
That’s awesome Henry, good luck!
How much do you charge for sharpening? I’m getting a new set and will keep one set as spare 😂
I do it for free for you Joe 😂
Might be a good idea to use a torque wrench to properly torque that's blade. Only takes once...
Thanks for the tip!

Haven’t had any issues with doing it freehand
nice tip, should've engraved something on the blade lol
Haha thanks man! Good idea 😂
Instead of piece of wood, take pair of channel locks & attach it to lip of underside to mower
Nice tip, thanks
I use the Arnold Blade Removal Tool.
@@PaulStregevsky Pretty cool, haven’t heard of it.
you forgot to balance the blade
It’s been noted, haven’t had any problems tho, thanks.
At least put in a vice.
Wish I had one…
