Sleep probably isn't that overpowered. First, unless you have the Soft Touch trait, attacking the sleeping Temtem will wake it up. Second, once the Temtem wakes up, it becomes Alert, and can't be put back to sleep until after the next turn. Third, all techniques that inflict Asleep have at least one turn of Hold. Fourth, there are various items of Gear, Techniques and Traits that prevent or benefit from being Asleep or make you Alerted or Immune in some fashion.
On the ledge where you found the Tonic+ you should have taken the first platform for another optional battle.
There are actually 3 types and 5 combinations with only one type weakness; you mentioned Wind's weakness to Electric and Toxic's weakness to Wind, but Neutral is only weak to Mental, Wind/Electric is only weak to Crystal, Earth/Nature is only weak to Melee, both Water/Nature and Fire/Nature are only weak to Toxic, and Wind/Toxic is only weak to Electric again. Interestingly this includes all three starter types, so they all have a niche.
My understanding is that Paharo Drop was turned into a convenient place to grind up for those people who for some reason had trouble with the first Dojo, as you can catch Ganki and encounter Paharac there so it's pretty obvious what they're hoping you'll do, but there are aways some die hards who don't realise that Botanophobia isn't quite the downside they think it is.
You missed the item box in the Nessla pond and another at the top of the "bridge" a few seconds later.
As I recall, the swimmer says that the reefs can be risky because sometimes you run into a Kalazu but sometimes it's a tamer such as herself. Or something along those lines...
I assume you're not interested in Asterion's 700 Pansuns or his Pewki with very good SVs.
