I was just a teen driving my moms car one night, listening to the radio with the subwoofer blasting when this came on. I had never heard anything like it in my life. I was in absolute awe in what my ears were hearing. I went to work the next day and told my coworker, " I heard this song last night that was so awesome it just went wub wub wub wub." He said dude thats dubstep and i've been obsessed ever since. That was 14 years ago...
Dropped this at a party - off my laptop - as my last tune - from youtube - on a 4k system - and it still went down a treat. That has to say something...
This was the first Dubstep Style sound my ears were ever blessed with. Its amazing to hear the way this music has changed and shaped a whole generation of creativity.
Dub & dubstep are 2 completely unrelated things. There's a lineage of production style for ALL electronic music that can be traced back to old school Jamaican dub because that was kinda the 1st time they used the mixer & studio gear as a instrument in & of itself (dub delays, reverb, LPFs, etc) where as before the gear in the studio was strictly used to process & enhance the instrument/vocal recordings. ...So in a sense - yeah there IS a connection, but its not any more connected to dub than house or any other electronic music genre. Now, given bass music's bizarre nature its become the main subgenera where the drug scene kinda naturally gravitated to & concentrated in within EDM, & of course weed is a huge part of that culture. Weed itself has a lot of culture behind it and old school reggae & dub was kinda the cornerstone of weed in media at least back in the day (still is I guess, like as far as what most ppl associate it with in the world of music) so dubstep artists started incorporating a lot of bits from old reggae records & reggae/dub style elements in general in their tracks - that PLUS the similarity in the names between dub & dubstep is what lead people to think they're inherently associated. But aside from cultural associations, & the fact they're both bass music, they're both practically entirely unrelated. .....This has got to be the longest explanation ever for something like this lol. Tried to keep it as short as possible but Im a geek & there's a couple diff moving parts behind this haha
Do you guys remember listening to dubstep for the first time? I think it was 2008. I was getting drunk with Tkooy at Zef the Pirate's house. He was into Ketamine. Anyway, he was listening to BBC radio, one of the random ass music channels, and they had dubstep playing. I remember thinking WHAT ARE THESE SOUNDS!!!! and then the whole world exploded with dubstep. Good times.
That first fucking growl when your bass is on full is so filthy I had that look of disgust on my face that you only get from the rawest of sounds #showyourbassface
heard this song back in 2009 i was a sophmore in high school my friends brother was blasting this shit testing his new speakers...changed my life, it was written from that day on.
first herd this on a HD4000 podcast along with so many other bangers and im gutted I no longer have it! this tune reminds me of chilling by the pool in Majorca in 2009 :)

When I was 14 I busted my eardrum with this song. No regrets.
This gives me old NumberNin6 and Chasing Shadows vibes. Man the golden era is so deeply missed.
Dropped this at a party - off my laptop - as my last tune - from youtube - on a 4k system - and it still went down a treat.
That has to say something...

reggae dub-step collaborations are the bees knees
Golden era of dubstep 🤩

Been 10 years or so since I heard this for the first time, still holds up long after the dubstep hype died out ✌️

That's a innovative way to remix this , dope as hell. If your hating on this song you just need better speakers. Don't hate the mix, hate your system.
I am not really in to dub step but this remix is insane. I love it. The base vibrates my inner soul. We need more dub step remixes like this.
