Have you ever tried hooking up a expression pedal to control the Dynamics and Vibrato? Would love to see what you could do with two hands and the foot controller! Sounds great as always.
Love the idea of these Total Performance patches to avoid key switches or extra tracks. Any chance of getting these types of patches for the SSO libraries?
I know this is going to sound a bit cheeky... Is their a chance of putting together an ensemble patch like Cinematic Studio Solo Strings have done? That would be a great feature and would save a lot time of CPU resources also... Thank you for the great work you guys do and listening to your customers you are a great company to invest in. I wonder how the Spitfire Solo Strings compare with the first chair solo strings in the upcoming BBC Symphony library (aside from the recording environment)? It would be nice to see a video explaining the differences.
I have compared them and my impression is: not much of a difference. I find the solo strings library from spitfire to be very limited in its use, the legatos are not convincing. It only works for very specific and slow phrases. Not for runs, etc.
I love this total performance patches. I hope you do more total performance patches out of your libraries. Especially if you include them inside the libraries I already have, like this one :D :D Thank you

just starting a cello-centric commission so the timing is perfect. i really like the minimal control approach while still having access to such a great dynamic and textural palette. an excellent patch to say the least!
Spitfire- sounds good but please do justice for Viola! You always leave it behind. I also got the Spitfire alternative solo strings which has (although much less intelligence) only performance patch for cello & Violin. On other product the Viola has much less articulations (sometimes Flautando, sometimes harmonics, performance patch)... I really love Viola (ever since I heard “Te Doy Mis Ojos” by Alberto Iglesias) and get disappointed again and again by Spitfire showing less treatment the Viola.
Did you put this out so weirdos like me can play bespoke scary music for trick-or-treaters walking up to the front door? Because you did. Get ready for Bartok jump scares kids.
Please, how about doing a video on midi controllers? I just researched the one you are using in this video, and, oh my god, that thing is a beast!!! It's like a mothership central brain. I'd love to know more about these units that can control the dynamics, etc, that are professional, but also do not cost $2K to $3K. I know there are dozens to choose from, but there has to be a sweet spot where we get the biggest bang for our buck. If you would, please . . . Thank you!!!
I'm not sure if there is a piece of equipment already or not, but it would be nice to have some type of pedal board with foot petals to control some of these, so you could use both hands to play. Not just with this library, but others as well.

Today I purchased this library. I already had Solo Violin and love it. Here is my problem: I only get pizzicato sounds out of it! I don't know what to do... nothing else works :( I tried a new install, reboot, batch reserve in Kontakt, moved all sliders... What am I doing wrong?!? My other Spitfire libraries are working flawless in Kontakt and Logic btw..
Does anyone know what keyboard he's using? And in other vids, he uses an external slider control, but what is it? I could use one of those, as my keyboard has only pitch wheel & mod wheel.
i got a question, i use cakewalk and usually i add the labs with the option "add instrument" but i cant find this solo strings cello. i bought it and installed it, doesnt seem to be in the instruments options in my cakewalk... i dont know if someone else uses cakewalk, any tips ?
Something I discovered: the dynamic transitions require Kontakt 7 to work (me being the dumdum couldn't work out why they weren't seeming to work until I updated)

I've been trying to get the same info since the BBC SO was revealed, they don't seem to be very keen to share that info though, kinda disappointing.

For decades there has always been too much rosin on the bow. Especially in solo cello samples. It robs the instrument of all poetry.
I have a hard time triggering the trill sound.
