I'm a foreigner and hear from CNN that the reason black crime is so high is how cops discriminate against black people. But wouldn't this video be a valid explanation?
After 246 years of slavery, black people were segregated to poor areas. They were largely not allowed to move out of those areas even if they had money until about 40-50 years ago. The schools in those areas are underfunded. It creates a cycle of poverty and culture that creates these types of reactions.
This is the same reason why there is such poverty and alcoholism on Native reservations. Another group of people that had 95% of their population slaughtered, then only allowed to live in small enclaves far away from the economic opportunities of developing areas.
CNN and your other sources do not want to acknowledge the history of genocide, slavery, segregation and red-lining that cause these areas to be the way they are, they only want to blame the people inside those areas. It is a very complex problem that goes back to the hypocrisy of the birth of this country which claimed men were free and equal when they in fact were not.

In the Western world and the United States in particular they knew it was wrong, because the founders themselves revolted against the tryanny of a king, but yet inflicted worse tryannies on their slaves. There is no justification for doing a wrong thing for 246 years. The poverty and inability to blend into society you see from these individuals is a result of that history. You have a group of people excluded from participating in American society for hundreds of years, then the people who excluded them wonder why they do not know how to properly act in American society.

Chinese people came as immigrants with knowledge of their language and culture. Their family units were preserved. They were permitted to have intergenerational wealth.
Africans were slaves for 246 years - from 1619 to 1865. Their culture was destroyed. They were not allowed to read or be educated. Their families were broken up and sold, they were constantly raped and tortured. After slavery ended, the faced segregation and severe racism, as in they could not use the same facilities as white people and were not permitted to move out of areas of poverty even if they were successful.
You need to believe they are somehow genetically inferior so you don't have to face the absolute crimes against humanity by Europeans.
