Dude! This was one of my favorite albums for years. I had the whole thing memorized and would sing it aloud on road trips. I lost it years ago and would love for you to publish more of it here! Thanks for putting this up!

I agree it was a fabulous double album. Hard to believe their live performances were that flawless, maybe they were. Sorry we downsized last year and my LP's had to go, so what I already did is it. I might have a couple more cuts from "The Bright Side" which included several from "TRUTH Live..." - watch this space.

There was a song on this album that was so precious to me. It was something about "Jesus I heard you have a big house" The story that Rodger shares and then the song still melts my heart.

That version of "Jesus, I Heard You Have a Big House" was on the live album after this, "Truth - On the Road." Check out the public group on FB called, "Roger Breland & TRUTH." There are folks on there who can direct you to a digital versions of almost all the old Truth material.

John Wilbanks plays killer bass on this album and a couple of others from this era of TRUTH. I ran around with Johnny at Bellaire High School and First Baptist of Bellaire around 1968-70, played some piano with him on bass, lost track of him, then saw him one more time the first time I saw TRUTH in concert, at Glorieta Baptist Encampment in summer of 1974. I've been unable to find him since. I hope he's had a great time playing bass all these years.

Gordon Twist's Fender Rhodes electric piano work is amazing here. (Phase shifter? what model?) I'm pretty sure Gordon did some arranging for Gary Paxton after his years with TRUTH (check out "I'd Rather Have Jesus" and others). What else in the past 40 years?

Stan Kelley I always thought this is the sound that the late 1973/1974/early 1975 era gold-tine Rhodes suitcase with a 1974 era phase-90 patched in with the internal stereo tremolo obviously engaged throughout the show . I would be very surprised if this were actually a true 1973 piano, or earlier, as the true 1973s tend to have a different sound, more of a bellish-"plop" - where the 1974 era gold-tine era Rhodes tend to have this more "Wurly" type sound, ala "listen to what the man said" by Paul McCartney

Hi Stan, I was the drummer on this album. John Wilbanks and I installed an MXR Phase Shifter inside the Rhodes and mounted the controls on the face of the Rhodes next to the volume control so Gordon could get to them easily. This was in July of 1973. I believe Gordon still has that Rhodes. John Wilbanks owns Professional Sound and Acoustics in Houston. Glad you enjoyed it.
