Worked for Eddie Nash back stage at The Starwood, Remember Sol the Manager, JJ, David Knight booked the bands, Gunnar Daniels at the VIP Bar, Victoria Shipley at the door, and Danny Bonaduce and Dirk Etiene from Virgin - so many great memories; lived with my Uncle Bob Margouleff, this was MY Club! Dated Nancy Wilson from HEART here. Anybody remember me - Blake Jackson?
Personally I always perfered the Dead Boys over the Sex Pistols. Not as flashy, not overrated plus unlike the Pistols, the Dead Boys could actually play.
Johnny- Thanks for opening up your stash. There is precious little available of the greatest punk band America ever produced. NOBODY could match your sonic assault, too bad both LP producers screwed your sound up. They turned the guitars down way too far. On Bomp's "NIght Of the Living Dead Boys" , "Son Of Sam" is without equal in power and darkness. Hopefully someday you guys will be recognized as the kings of American punk.
You haven't heard Never Mind The Bollocks then. Also Glen, Steve and Paul could play, very well, better than 99% of the so called "punk" bands of the day.
@Punk93Metal WTF, Have you heard anything from Never mind the Bollocks lately? The Rhythm guitar, Bass and not least the drums kicks ass, and most of the songs are in a league, where The Dead Boys, The Ramones and the Damned may be the only ones who had anything going that was compareable. Don't mix it up with the fact that Malcolm Mclaren only was into selfpromoting and effectively screwed up the band. I love the Dead Boys, but they are no better than the Sex Pistols.
@@LarsRyeJeppesen Nothing wrong with Johnny Rottens attitude and intention in those days. He fucking left the band at their commercial zenith, because he didn't want to proceed with being screwed, he wrote the only lyrics that were ever removed from No.1 in the UK charts, and another that was the quintessence of punkrock lyrics and was hated by at least half the nation to the point where some royalist pigs slit him with a knife after they put out God save the Queen. How many bands were effectively banned from doing tours in their own country because they were seen as a threat to society? The Sex Pistols and possibly some east block bands.

It's about the attitude and intention.
