Yes, excellent video! Perfect for the pen I just received. I am now looking for a suitable tong/tweezer and, unfortunately, I may have damaged my new old pen before finding this video. We'll see if I can salvage it, but in all events, thanks for posting this. I just subscribed while writing this and now see that you have a few followups for this pen, too. Great. The feed on the Pilot Elite model I have is completely covered, top and bottom so I am very curios how I will get at it being unable to push it in from the nib end (as I said, I may have damaged it, which was from trying to push it in without yet understanding to unscrew the cartridge piercer). Anyway, Merry Christmas.
For those type of feed, which is completely covered inside the section, I see people use hair pin or some kind of pin to insert through the small hole near the section's tip to push the feed out (after the cartridge piercer removed). Is like the SIM card ejector.

Excellent tip for that kind of hooded pen -- I will use it next time. Unfortunately, even after days of soaking and using a proper tweezer/tong as in your demo, the plastic of the cartridge piercer unit broke off in place and it is still jammed inside. I am not sure what to do now since I don't think I can salvage it but would like to use what I can as "parts". (The 18k nib seems to be in excellent shape). Anyway, perhaps I'll find another one at a reasonable price some time and try again. All best to you and happy new year.
Thanks for watching! I don't own a E95S so I'm can't confirm. But I think the removal of cartridge piercer method is similar, but the feed have to be fished out by the tong. And, as far as I know, E95S's nib is glued to the section, so you've to glue it back if the nib is removed.
got a writing sample? I got mine a Long Elite with 1982 date, same as I read around Japanese blogs, the Fine of Pilot Elites in that era is thinner and sharper than average Pilot fines, mine is comparable to a modern Custom 74 EF, except I kind of like the sharp feedback more on the Elite

Just got this pen brand new. Sadly, it writes dry, especially on the up strokes. How do I make it wetter? I was thinking of cleaning the feed. Should I? Please advise.
