  • One of the best bang for your buck in the entire market. The technology and features are still great 8 years later. I wish I could have taken a ride in it when I was 14 in 2014. To this day one of my favorite practical vehicles I’ve owned yet. This is my take on the 2014 Mercedes ML-350 4matic. Subscribe, subscribe subscribe! What do you think?

I am buying this used just because I have a new born on the way and am starting a small family. I rather be in a safer and heavier car than the Lexus despite the reliability claims, if you do your own research this car is just as reliable but ONLY this ML series. More reliable I honestly couldn’t say, both should be great but in terms of repairs the Grand Cherokee would be easier to fix if anything was to go wrong both in terms of cost and time. If it’s a well taken care of ML they are hard to beat if you can handle an unexpected repair. Thanks for watching!

    I evaluated and contemplated for 3 months and performed many test drives going back and forth between ML350 and 2014 Volvo XC60. Finally settled with Volvo for the reasons below:
    1) The 2nd row in Volvo goes flat where as in ML350 it stays up in a 45 degree awkward angle making it completely useless.
    2) For 6 feet 1 or taller person. My head was touching the roof in the 350 and my face was close to the pillar. Unfortunately looking down through a smaller windshield was pretty bad.
    This is where Volvo shines with a very superb lower dash and big windshield and you have a great view of the road with plenty space between your head and roof. The 2014 Volvos dash is great.
    3) Seat quality and leather in Volvo is much better not like the leatherette in ML350
    4) You can adjust your seats in Volvo with doors open unlike the ML350 where adjustments are on the door and with engine off, you have to close the door.
    5) Volvo drives smoother
    After 85,000 I only changed one sensor on my Volvo so it's been very reliable.

      The seats fold totally flat in a ML 350. Pull the seat up by the strap on the side then lower the back of the seat. It is a bit different from other vehicles but it still folds down perfectly flat.

      @GodspeedZRZ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info & thanks for watching!

    • @aseovic
      @aseovic ปีที่แล้ว

      1) As Elisa already said, the second row folds perfectly flat. You just flip the seat portion out of the way and then fold the back rest all the way down. Not a rocket science to figure out, really...
      2) The seats are adjustable, and they move down and back. I'm 6'7", and have no issues in my 2016 GLE 63s AMG, which is essentially the same body as ML 350.
      3) Don't know how good Volvo seats are, but I find Benz seats perfectly fine. I may have upgraded seats in the AMG, though, so I'll give you this one.
      4) I adjust the seats with the door open and the car off all the time, and it's actually easier to do with the controls on the door. The only thing that annoys me is that I have to hold memory button until the adjustment completes, instead of just pressing it, but it's a minor quibble, really.
      5) Volvo doesn't have a 600-hp AMG version 😉

    The MLs / GLE are built in Alabama under contract from Daimler Germany. They are then exported all over the word. The irony is that Germany considers them as imports and taxes them accordingly when the enter Germany.
    Nice review, however if I am not mistaken this particular ML is equipped with the 360 Camera system, I know because I can see the sensors in the bumper. I have the same vehicle same year 75K miles, driven once a week for leisure. My only regret was not seeking an option with the 360 camera system
    The host in this review has to mention a critical detail like that especially when reviewing an iconic and no compromise brand like Mercedes. B+

    Great video. Not sure if you mentioned this or if you’re aware but this vehicle was built on the same platform as the WK2 Grand Cherokee. I believe Chrysler did most of the initial engineering and development because that generation of GC debuted in 2011 and the ML followed a year later. So if Jeeps are usually your thing, it’s not surprising you also enjoy this.

      Rear coils snap, take 15 minutes to replace and you need a compressor from benz to install them it’s a tight fit, ignition coils had a bad run so some of them will pop the ignition fuse and misfire real bad, coils have been on back order since release, change them out you’ll have no issues beyond them. Engine mounts are a Maintenace. Typically they start noticeabley wearing around 100-150k, you’ll get clunks and vibrations. Not extremely hard to change but another back ordered part since release. The lower coolant hose leaks at the plastic fitting, change to the updated hose and you’ll never have an issue. Finally. Front cylinder covers leak on every m276 engine. You’ll probably never have to add oil it’s so minimal and most people never notice it. Not the worst repair. Every car has its issues. This particular one seems as if it’s got problems but trust me it’s one of the most capable suvs. They’re very easy to work on, they don’t cost a fortune either . Benz has not made many products as good as these
