That's what I'm wondering. I cracked the back of my S7 Edge and want to get it repaired, but I don't trust that it will still be water resistant after they remove all the adhesive since that's pretty much the only thing protecting the internals from water.

No it doesn’t remain water resistant. Thats coming straight from the Samsung website.
