Very nice kit indeed Michael. I absolutely agree it is definitely a multimedia kit. They have included many interesting and unusual accessories for the model. Thank you for another excellent review.
It was everything that I hoped it would be. Wonderful kit. I've seen a few kit makers covering their decal sheets with paper in the last few years and I've seen more than a few sets of decals destroyed because of them. I with they'd stop using that crap and go back to separately sealed baggies. All in all it looks like a wonderful kit and certainly worth getting... on sale though. 60 Euros is a but stiff for a kit like that. Thanks for the review Michael. :)
Today I checked gentlemen, a Euro is $1.26US=E1.00EU. Online at a shop called M&Models out of Cicero, ILL you can get this kit that Hamilkar showed for $52.00US. For you guys in the Euro zone and the UK...$1.60US=L1.00UK, that's a bargain! Canada...well...not so much. Today I checked and it's $1.00US=$0.89Canada. Yes! Nice kit!! But this IS the cheapest place to get it folks.
Gary Armstrong Hi Gary the price on that kit you were mentioning perked my interest so I went to check it out. It was the wrong version the $52.00 price was for the older version. The one Michael reviewed here is much more at that shop...here is the linkwww.mmodelstore.com/wwiibritishfueltankset-1.aspx and its $84.00. However, as I guessed Scalehobbyist.com is almost Always the cheapest in the U.S. They sell for it $55.89 and charge $9.95 to ship it here is the link: www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Military_Vehicles/idf-sho-t-kal-gimel-1982/AFV00035267/product.php?s=0&t=2&micr=218&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&era=7,8. Cheers and have a good weekend.
Coen C you are welcome mike :) i never had issues with the decals before in that way, it is something new for me. so far it is not yet proven whether they still work or not, but the paper sheet sticking to them is usually not a good sign.
Hamilkar Barkas I would try the AFV Club logo on the sheet first. See if that comes off and lays down on a test piece first Mike. If is doesn't you may be able to get replacements from AFV Club... I've never had to deal with their customer service, but if they're like the other Asian kit makers... you may be screwed unless you have some spares.
nice id like to see AFV club do a nice sherman with that kind of cast texture thats a nice kit i might pick one up later on and nice review hamilkar :)
Frederic
Hi Michael, since I discovered your youtube channel I've watched quite a few of your videos, I myself am not a very experienced modeller and have only made Revell kits in the past, I loved those and thought making them were really worthwhile but what I would like to ask you and your viewers is: Is it a good idea to upgrade to bigger and more expensive models and buying modelling equipment when you dont have a lot of space and time?
Charlie Cheesecake well if you do it just to build something and you like your models as they are there is no need to go any further. if you want to improve i´d recommend to get some more equipment. having not much time is not the limiting factor, i know guys who build 1 or 2 models each year and the equipment allows them to build true masterpieces. it is their pace and they enjoy it a lot, it is not about building a lot all the time.
Very jelaous Michael. This kit belongs with all my Merkava's, zelda and tiran 5 ha ha. Lets hope I am not tempted by one at Telford tomorrow now I have seen you video ! Another new kit and my wife will make me sleep in the car....heh I wonder if my airbrush lead would reach that far
I wish somebody would make a 1/72 or 1/35 scale kit of the Swedish Stridsvagn 102R or Stridsvagn 104, the mid-80's upgraded version of the Swedish Centurions.. I remember when we had some map reading practise / orienteering in the woodland practise ground of the P2 Pansar Regemente ('Panzer Regiment') outside Hassleholm (Sweden) when I was in the Air Force, and 4 of these beautiful tanks cut across our path all out the blue.. Nobody had told us they were training at the same time, but it added some 'realism' to the exercise.. The Swedish Army scrapped the Centurions at the end of the cold war, and replaced them with the Leopard instead.. As for this video, it is as always a great review, the Centurion looks very much like a tank 'should' look and I share your liking for them, if not your knowledge! :) And the kit may be expensive but judging by what you showed us here, you do get your moneys worth.. :) :)
Rob BasicModelling totally agree! i think some resin manufacturer offers a horribly expensive conversion kit for the swedish one which is incredible attractive looking with the camo pattern. it is cool to know that you saw them yourself :) i would love to have a whole range of them available.
Hamilkar Barkas Maybe one day it will happen.. I think the Strv 104 had the same type engine as the Sho't Kal Alef, but was obviously externally different.. Have seen the resin conversion set, and yes, it is expensive.. but maybe AFV Club will see the light one day and make a kit proper.. :) By the way, Airfix announced today that they will release a NEW TOOL 1/72 Heinkel He 111 next year.. from what I have seen it looks very good! I am more excited about the NEW Bolton Paul Defiant in 1/72 though.. about time we got a decent kit.. :)
Klasse Video, gefällt mir richtig gut. Vielleicht könntest du mal darühber nachdenken einen Baubericht zu dem Modell zu machen. Würde mich nähmlich ziemlich interressieren so ein Centurion. :)
Hard to decide that! I have an Amusing Hobby Centurion in my stash, but haven´t built it unlike the AFV Club kits. I made a few of those and like them a lot.
I'm annoyed that AFV Club released another Centurion, but I've been looking for the 5/2 (NATO) for over a year and AFV hasn't produced a run in all that time.
great presentation Michael! I recall a video that showed Finnish APCs being harassed by Israeli tanks...I think I could hear some of those Finns cursing - hmm, a Finnish SISU with this tank bumping into it would be a super diorama :) If I can find that video, I will share it with you...Chuck :)

TacticalJackalope you are welcome andy :)
Cool kit. I like all the detail parts that are included.
Vielen Dank für die sehr gute Bausatzvorstellung! Ich hoffe du machst dafür n guten Baubericht!
Sehr schön detaillierter Bausatz - bin sehr gespannt, was du draus machst. Aber 60 € und dann diese Decals ... au weia! Trotzdem viel spass damit!
HWGuderian23 das ist schon eigenartig, naja, was will man da machen!

Coen C i have many IDF spare decals for whatever reason, so there is no shortage there :)
I got a AFV-Club Sho´t Kal tank M1973.Because this war is the most brilliant record of it :D
落苏 this is entirely true!
nice id like to see AFV club do a nice sherman with that kind of cast texture thats a nice kit i might pick one up later on and nice review hamilkar :)

Armour Empire oh dear, that sounds terrible :) your wife is not that patient or you overdid it a bit lol!

***** macht echt spaß das modell so beweglich zu bauen, ist ja ne sache auf die wir standmodellbauer eher nicht aus sind :)
Would you know if this is better than the Amusing Hobby kit?
Hard to decide that! I have an Amusing Hobby Centurion in my stash, but haven´t built it unlike the AFV Club kits. I made a few of those and like them a lot.
Ace is coming out with a 1/72 Sho't Kal Gimel; I prefer that scale.
I'm annoyed that AFV Club released another Centurion, but I've been looking for the 5/2 (NATO) for over a year and AFV hasn't produced a run in all that time.
Forbes Hutton apparently they rather go for the IDF versions.

Da ist es...:D Das Israelische Ding :D Ich freue mich auf das Diorama...:D
Hollywood Modelling Schalom!
